I have the 7 inch vinyl of this and it's far better than this one . Not that this is bad , too good a song not to be . But the original is one of the greatest singles of the 80's , for me. It just seems to have more passion and vigour about it ?
Anyway , to the guy who still sees Ian H ? tell him thanks , he's remembered for a classic .
Single release was 88, a friend of mine has it.(vinyl) These guys turned their back on everything. Didn't want anything to do with the money making side of the record industry.
@HanseMod This is the 1990 album version, it differs to the original single version from 1988. Singer Ian H is still performing around Blackburn (he came for dinner at mine just the other day haha!) whilst in a bizarre turn of events bass player Jos is now in Morrissey tribute band Viva Morrissey.

this is the regular version from the cd "shouting quietly". i don't think that Bradford ever did a peel session.

morrissey did a good job, but prefer this version. on the other hand, his studio recording of "that's entertainment" was god awful

I have to say I prefer Morrissey's. I always thought this was a brilliant song for him to sing.
