  • dobry zart tropheusy razem z giberosami...

  • osom

  • One of the most inspiring Tanganyika aquascapes I've seen on youtube. I'm interested in how you keep your Tropheus healthy and bloat free from a meaty diet as you said. Do you feed some days with spirulina also?

  • nice.

  • Nice aquarium, shocking music

  • The song is irritating...The aquarium isn't!

  • change the music please

  • is it posible to keep Tanganyikan fish with south american cichlids ?

  • amazing! can i ask where you got that back ground?

  • amazing tank, what back ground is that you are using? were did you get the background? how long in feet is that tank? you are a genius!

  • Well it's simple. For all the time period I have kept tropheus i've fed them with only high protein foods (also bloodworms). I won't get to the tropheus diet debate because that could take months... I feed tropheus a meaty diet for almost 7 years now. And btw there are 10 cyphotilapias . 5 Zaire blue moba and 5 blue bismark ( samazi).

  • Nice tank you got there

How is your success with keeping Fronts and Trophs together, been thinking about keeping a single pair of fronts with a colony of Trophs.

Problem im thinking about is the Frons are carnvores and Trophs Herbivores and the trophs being sooo crazy eaters.

Guess im asking how are you feeding, makeing shure the trophs don't get too much protine and makeing shure the slower more relaxed fronts get something to eat???

  • WOW and what is the song

  • nice

  • Nice tank

  • Holy crap mate I love that background. Where can I get one like that?

  • Nice very nice tank ... Good Luck with it wish I could set Up a tank that big..

  • Just perfect

  • Frontosa will eat everything when theyre grown out.

  • love you background !

  • Nice tank! :))) But, none of these fish need such a tank. So, I would do something else with it and keep these fish in 1000-litre tanks. :)

  • @dirkgonthier101 petrochromis and cyphotilapia are not neon tetra, they need large tanks (like this one ;) ) and petros need a LOT of swimming place

Benthochromis are timid and calm fish, but they get large too

anyway, a good setup but.... how do you feed the fishes? tropheus-petrochromis have a total different diet, the another fishes need more proteins (cyphotilapias eat cyps in the wild)

  • @Memmo061091 I keep a lot of these fish fronts, Altolamprologus, Neolamprologus, Julidochromis in a 900 liter-tank. That also works. With the Bentochromis and the petrochromis I don't have expierence. I keep my large tanks (1500-liter + 2000 liter) for other fish: Vieja argantea, Uaru amphiacanthoides, Astronotus ocellatus, Heros notatus, Aequidens rivulatus

  • @dirkgonthier101 petrochromis are rock grazers

that mean, their diet is almost composed of algae (spirulina flakes could work, but is not enough)

you can try with cucumber and zucchini too

they need a lot of swimming place and a good rockwork if they are few so that the submissive ones can hide

  • @Memmo061091 I don't think you understand me. I wrote you that I have NO petrochromis and NO bentochromis and I have NO intentions of ever keeping petrochromis or bentochromis. So, the explanation of how they're supposed to be fed is very intresting, but for me also completely irrelevant since I have NO pentochromis or bentochromis.

  • @dirkgonthier101

benthochromis are, IMO, the most fearful fish in the world:

a friend took 30 benthos and put them alone (without another tank mates) in a large tank.... ~10 of them died while feeding them... just because they saw the shape nearing to the tank (!!!)

  • @dirkgonthier101 they were wild caught specimen...and your, IMO, too!!

they are one of the most difficult fish to breed and surely not like zebra cichlid

despite of their large size, the fry are just a couple of mm (while the cyps fry are 1cm!)

take care of this jewels, they are very beautiful and interesting with their behaviour and their manner ;)

hope this "short" post has helped you a bit!! =)

  • @dirkgonthier101 what's a front?? is it the opposite of a back??

  • @hawkwind999

    No. :) A front is a Cyphotilapia frontosa. :)

  • I can't imagine how much that cost including the fishes.

  • awesome aquascaping!!! nice collection of fishes...very good job and interesting way to get that BTN ;)

  • great aquarium decorations and cast! Awesome background

  • Amazing aquarium. I have to ask you, is that a live plant? If so, what kind? And what type of sand do you have in there?

  • Great tank!! Done to perfection!

  • awesome tropheous collection...

  • i love the backround pimpin

  • Wow is a big big aquarium :O!

my aquarium is 500 litres >.>

  • Hi and thanks for the comments

    I appreciate it!

about the sand, it's always stays white and clean without maintenance... because the sand is so dense the feces of the fish don't get through it and stay on it's surface. I have currents all over the aquarium so the dirt "flushes" to the overflow boxes...

  • @SpitFire213

To bright IMO for tang tank.

  • I too am in awe of this tank, you have my dream tank and i am very jealous right now. They look right at home in lake Tangi. awesome aquascape!! awesome fish A+++

  • is your sand always that clean and white? if so, how do you keep it that way?

    Arnon

  • excellent biotopic aquarium ! Congatulations !

  • your tank is GREAT. I love it so much, I'm definitely favoriting this ! It's so natural looking. I read all about your adventure to germany, It looks like it was totally worth it. Great job man. I plan on getting one of those BTN backgrounds too, but not until i upgrade to a bigger tank :) My tank is nothing compared to yours, but please do check mine out when you get the time

  • I'm a big fan of the btn backgrounds as well, its a shame though that they don't impose some sort of custom alternative for people with concrete/plywood or other very large background surfaces to cover.

I suppose one could mould one, but when it comes down to texture and paint you'd never get the same result.

  • The guy commenting on your forum post for this was such a dick!

  • which one?

  • the one who was saying you were a liar and that he would never be posting on your threads again
