Much of the Veyron's top speed lies in the aerodynamics, so it seems to me that without changing the shape of the Zenvo's body it would need somewhere around 1600 HP, 7 gears, one hell of a long runway and a ballsy driver to achieve the same top speed (254 mph) as a Veyron

@Athaeus exept that the CCXR only did 417 once... cause it broke down. and this Zenvo is purposely made slower than the original which had 1700 BHP! But then Zenvo thought that was just uncomfortably powerfull so they downgraded the engine to 1100 BHP so that people could use it every day.

and the zenvo is faster to by 0,1s to 100km/h.

I had a chat with one of the zenvo guys at the Bella Car mess a few days ago.

It was interesting to find out they don't use the original corvette engine block, because it kept blowing it's gaskets.

They had to get an foundry to cast them a new engine block with better support for the seals. It's still modeled after a corvette engine though, and still a push rod design.

They ran it at 1300 HP for a while to see if it would be stable at higher power outputs. It was. :)

how many of those tracks are sure to be available at time of filming? they can't have massive piles of glass, metal or rubbish on the track next time they have a race either so they have to maintain it. best way to do that for several miles of track when there's no race is not open it to public. and normal cars takes longer to reach top speed than a F1 car, need longer straights than a circuit can provide.
