  • You have one N. Pulcher and one N. Brichardi. Your babies are hybrids, friend.

  • there is one thing I really want to know before i breed these fish, Do they eat the fry or eggs like other fish ? because alot of fish eat the babys

  • this is a Pulcher man...

  • HYBRIDS

  • It has been known that Neolamprologus pulcher and Neolamprologus Brichardi are actually the same species. Just diffrent face markings.

  • @rodriRoch01 Do the hobby a favor and keep them separated by name and aquarium.

  • WHAT ARE THOSE SHELL GUYS

  • @cleerin1 did you mean the snails? these are red-rimmed melania, scientific name Melanoides tuberculata

the shells are miscellaneous i brought from nicaragua

  • @aquauit do you know where i can get one

  • I have 2 of these about 3 inches in size for each, I got them from a fish auction for $5 for both they are lovely and I do part water changes and feed them well. Will they have a problem being in a filtered 10 gallon tank, I can only have a 10 gallon because my apartment does not allow more than 10 at my college they seem happy and it has been 3 months.

  • @kickercvr7758 they will, a pair will be ok in a 60cm x 30cm x 38cm tank(68 litres/18 us gallons), they're best to keep in a group in 90cm x 30cm x 38cm tank and bigger is always better.

  • Watch it with those snails my friend. A real time bomb!

  • @SCORNDOGGMELACH several Clea helena took care of this situation...

  • my 2end favourite cichlid after kribensis or common krib

  • good, nice :-))

  • @sskyn35 they are also my favourite cichlids aswell. so elegant!

  • Please don't take any of what i am saying the wrong way I am for preserving the origanl species of any living thing. but nature has a way of keeping things in check thats all I am saying Thank you for listing to my apenyin and thats about all it is. I was merely bring up a point about how some specise come to be Thats all and thank you agin. awsome fish aquauti Sorry for any confusiton and thanks

  • breed them all you want, but you should not sell or give away a hybridized species if you really care about the fish and the species and the hobby piolttwister, there are so many species because the lakes are so big and different varieties develop in different geographic locations - that's why so many species have the same name and then a designation "taiwan reef" "mara" "burundi", etc... so keep them separate

  • Yes i do agree with u i would never sale or give away hybridized fish. I wasnt nesaceraly asking why there where so many i know why and i know that the the magarite of the cichlids come from salt water fish when the lakes where open to the ocean. I am not trying to incourage hybridized fish you never know what could happen. things go wrong when man puts hes/her hand in nature. I do know most hybrids are born unable to reporduse but with in a family of fish they do inter breed in the wild.

  • I would kinda have to disagre with you 2. Why is there so many African cichlids (over 1,000 different cichlids from all 3 lakes)? The Neolamprologus Brichardi Daffodil, Brichardi, Gracilis, helianthus all from lake Tanganikan all very much alike other than colors the same. Whats not to say that a Brichardi and a Gracilis run in to each other in deep water colors dont matter when you cant make out the color. I,m just saying most of the African cichlids we know came from just a fue fish.....

  • has left you a response

  • Why mix two species? It's better to keep a clean bloodline than breed useless hybrids. But the speciments you got are quite nice indeed.

  • @statistic666 I'd have to agree with you. I tend to be an extremist when it comes to keeping clean cichlid specie lines but those are no doubt very beautiful specimens you've got.

  • Awsome cichlids. These are one of my favorites. Theyre beautifull. 5/5

  • wrong fish

  • Is it pulcher?

  • yes it is pulcher... also called dafodil

  • the male is a neolamprologus pulcher, the thre females are brichardi
