  • DAMN...that LS V is fucking fast...dat shit has no lag in the pick up at all...looks and sounds nicely built...you got my props bro...my stock low mile D15b with ZC built head / port n polished block and DUAL POINT fuel injected intake manifold 100% open throttle also with a rebuilt single cam si tranny takes A1's and B1's tegs all day...they can't ever hang...but never ran an LS V before...I guess this is what I'd be up against...

  • no way that LS is 215 WHP. The B16B engine is a marvel of the engine tuning and produces like 150 whp. That engine is giving about 100 WHP stock. You can not convince me that this shmuck built a heavy duty racing engine for his daily car. Its not more than 200 at the cranckshaft.

I'm old lol....and in my time, they were used at the rear, as opposed to the front

  • @trapped45 They are on the rear but I bet it doesn't close properly because of them or who knows maybe he installed them in a set of 4 instead of 2... haha The front hood latch on these Civic's was pretty funky to begin with I remember spending time just trying to close it without spacers.

  • My GTI at the time only had an intake, downpipe and a tune, that means stage 2. Not a stage 2 turbo. And yeah the Honda is a 2,000 lb gutted EF hatch making 215 whp against my full interior 3,000 lb GTI making 242 whp

    Do the math, the Honda owner is a friend of mine and his car is fast

A gutted EF weighs around 1500-1600lbs and has door skins, no dash, no anything inside except for drivers seat - steering column and gauges - that is a street hatch and even if he removed the 15lbs for the rear seats and plastic its not much to talk about....plus he had a passenger...big NO NO for NA hondas when a passenger is like 10% weight addition lol

  • @TheJordanGraff No - you would not have a dash - you would have Gauges mounted on the steering column - how many gutted hatches have you built? Zero? Trust - we built a CRVTEC in 2002 kid - ran high 11's all motor with about 210-215whp - EG body - gutted - no dash - door skins as in the frame inside the door was gone and the window was held up - no roll down...door skin like just the thin sheet metal on the outside. Anyway - the car was around 1700-1800lbs maybe...didnt cut the floor board

  • @TheJordanGraff The dash itself is 75lbs not including the accessories/heater core/stereo/ etc...it makes a huge difference...one day when you build a race car and take out a fully trimmed dash with airbags and wiring youll see....youll probably stick to keyboard racing though

  • @drtyeurodub I understand that from the guy shooting the video - my point was an extra passenger will not effect a 3000lb+ car with a turbo on it vs. a 2000lb hatch with a naturally aspirated torqueless wonder powering it....civics thrive on weight savings because they arent making tons of torque....less weight...better acceleration...at that weight 60lbs is about a tenth so a normal guy will add 3 tenths easily....thats a huge difference for an small cube NA car to make up

And I wouldnt call ANY of those motors "torque monsters"....Honda builds big bore, short stroke motors that love to rev - that configuration is not about torque - its about high revs and hp ...torque monster lol...thats funny...a boosted benz making 800ftlbs of torque is a "torque monster"...an LSV making 160 or even 170ft lbs is NOT a torque monster lol

  • @TheJordanGraff Sigh your hopeless - F20Cs make more torque than LSVTECs out of the box - research some dynos or even just use common sense....a 240hp motor vs a 165hp motor....the the F20C having way more agressive cams from the get go....you would have to run aftermarket cams to be anywhere near an F20C's torque numbers plus add compression etc...this is basic Honda 101 bro? Have you ever built a Honda motor before? Been to a dyno? Read torque plots and understand the lines? Seriously...

  • @TheJordanGraff What is the point of your avg D series turbo build - money? Eventually you want more power - eventually you hit a wall with flow...aka cubes...so youll want a larger motor and then you will have to build that too...so why waste time and money on a build your gonna ditch later? Just start with the good stuff first...besides a good street turbo Honda needs a smaller turbo...imagine how fast an F20B could spool up a GT30R vs a D16....way more usable torque and much more overall pwr

  • @Servicemember80 Again its my sisters car 91 SI D16 has a Y1 tranny and a T3/T4 turbo car puts roughly 220 WHP which according to her is more than enough for a girl....

  • @TheJordanGraff Turbo is too big - a stock D16 would spool better and be faster overall with a straight T3 Super 60...thats a budget build to me though - because after taking all that time to go turbo 400whp should be a minimum target...you can do that with a stock GSR motor...220 is why bother terriotry unless your super broke for a better turbo setup...if your gonna tear something down and build it - minimum 600whp...for a street car you want quick spool - a big motor spools faster H25 =)

  • @foxrider120 Thanks =) Just trying to save kids the headaches....when they build this D series turbo they will see how crappy the D series trans are for street use and torque steer...then they will realize the gearing and equal length halfshafts on B series trans make them better candidates for their setup...yes they are more money...but ultimately if you build it right the first time you save money overall...and time/hassle

  • @vaner1995 lol the 2.0 only has about 110 hp. it would be a much different story if he had the 1.8t. he would've "been and gone." but the 89 civic is probably my favorite civic. don't get rid of it ;) it's probably factory red, or repainted since it's 20 years old

  • @vaner1995 the 91 si is pretty fast too. i raced one about three weeks ago and it can definitely keep up with a new civic (in a straight line). as far as cornering, the old hatchback should be way better since its so small. it sounded just like a cr250 lol.

  • @MaddDogg81 Probably? If it didnt destroy this GTi at this tune I would ask for your money back - most turbo RSXs are 450-500whp+ and run 11s...this GTi is probably 13s at best --- huge difference
