  • Tomorrow perhaps we will set sail From the shores of Eilat to the Ivory Coast And on the old destroyers Oranges will be loaded Tomorrow a thousand clappers will bleat In the many bells of holiday. Tomorrow when soldiers put off uniforms Alerted to other things Then each man will use his own two hands To build that of which he dreamed today. All this is not a yarn and not a dream It is true as the light of noon All this will come tomorrow, if not today And if not tomorrow, then the day after
  • It was written after the 6 day war in 1967....That' s why the words and music are so uplifting.

  • Preciosa y linda mujer, bellisima!!

  • Beautiful song!!

  • omg i sang this for my 5th grade israeli fair! (last year)

  • This is probably my favorite song by Naomi Shemer. I have that on her album "Jerusalem of Gold" and on two other albums as well. :)

  • TOMORROW we want peace, democracy and equality in the middle east! Great Yardena! Great Naomi Shemer!

  • israel shelanu!

  • Beutiful song!!

  • I truely love this song and sing it all the time. I love the spirit of patriotism communicated by it. I wish our leaders were up to their responsibilities. By the way, I'm from Egypt. SHALOM RAV.

  • it is such a wonderful thing to see that some neighbours of us can write some beautiful responses and not only anti-zionist propaganda. thank you so much!!! and... Sallam Alleck ;)

  • Dear Etaihan, I hope you will visit Egypt one day and see for yourself that we do not hate anybody. Love and sweet wishes from me to all peaceful people in Israel. Le'hit'ra'ot, Chaveri

  • I traveled in Egypt- by myself, as a teen, before Sadat's overture/visit in 1977, with a Jewish Theological Seminary student ID I used WITHOUT HESITATION for discounts throughout the country (well, maybe I was an idiot). To this day I've never been in a friendlier, warmer country. Egypt deserves its own continent- it can't be part of this crazy region of the world. Absolutely amazing people.I'm well aware it's the Arab way to be hospitable to all visitors, but you can't fake this kind of warmth.

  • This is my favorite song! I first heard it sung by Chava Alberstein.... does anyone know where I can get an mp3 of it?

  • When i was at my jewish school, we had Isreali Fair, we sang this song. I LOVE UR MUSIC NAOMI!

  • Even I sang that one ! good old times, thanks for posting :)

  • It's an israeli folk song that was sang by many singers and groups in many different versions. It's difficult (for me) to say who was the original singer.

  • @moshikodavid I have an old record from the 70s where Naomi Shemer sings it herself with some other people. She composed it herself, so she might have been the first one.

  • I remember this one from the Jerusalem of Gold Album.

Who was the original singer ?

  • The original SINGERS were the Nahal entertainment group (להקת הנח"ל). It was written especially for them by Naomi Shemer who was a true patriot (and wrote many other songs for the nahal entertainment troupe). By the way, if I'm not mistaken, Yardena Arazi was one of the original vocalists who sang this song (while she was in the nahal troupe).

  • Toda Gilor - this song used to be in an album entitled "Jerusalem of Gold" that was released after the Six Day War that my late mother used to have. This song is about the end of the Red Sea blockade.
