What he says in the part you quoted is actually not anti-thetical to what I perceive as Islam. Al-Latif is one of Gods attributes, which means The Subtil. People, muslims as well as non-muslims tend to forget that, I think. :)

Einstein would have had little reason to mention islam because at the time it was about as dismissed in the western culture as any Native American or African religion would have been. The only reason islam has any air time or consideration in western culture today is because of the current problems in the middle east and the ongoing invasion of Europe.

Judeo/Christian tradition sees him as a big fatherfigure, the Quranic perception is totally different. He is completely and utterly transcendent. What you as an atheist or agnostic refer to as ultimate Living reality, we call Allah. Whether God gets airtime on Fox or CBS or not is completely irrelevant to me... :)

@l337pwnage Hitchens doesn't prove a thing. The Quran talks about itself and refers to the earlier scriptures and comments on them, that is hardly plagerism. If you dont trust me on that one you might want to get a hold on the catholic encyclopedia from 1985 and look up the section on islam and see what it has to say. After 1400 years of research they have come to the conclusion that plagerism is simply not an option.However if you have something that they dont theyd be happy to hear from you.

Whether you believe that someone actually died, and then resurrected, and therefore he is the son of god, or you believe that some illiterate businessman had divine inspiration in a cave, I consider both propositions silly. I also consider both irrelevant to modern society regardless of the veracity of their claims. They serve no purpose other than that of any other recreational drug.
