  • These kids were the real winners, they prob made the shit film watcheable with their performances, honestly they deserve more credit than dev patel n 15 min freida pinto. wtf did she do? run with a yellow scarg at the end n do some easy dance steps?

  • I know there's more important issues than this one... but was its really poop? lol

  • the kid said it was chocolate lol

  • I so hope it woz.

  • Why are these kids still living in squalor in India? The boy's shack was bulldozed by the government there, and people in Hollywood say they set up a trust fund for the kids. What good is a trust fund if you don't have FOOD! Hollywood got rich off of poor Indian children and now won't get them out of their slums!

  • Straight up....i agree dude

  • you're totally right. that's what i'm thinking up until now.

  • yeah. i think someone will do something about this. or at least, they should D: child stars here are treated as if royalty. there - theyre still living in horrible conditions? thats not right.

  • it said on the news today that i'm not sure who but they were given apartments to stay in, and they would pay for bills for a while.

  • @RockTheFacts

    I AGREE!

    they are so stupid.

why do they brong the kids back to india to the slums or whatever?!

    they are talented!

  • @ChocolateVanessaFan only 2 of the kids, the youngest ones were from the slums, the producers later bought condos for them.

  • 1. copy and paste

    2. send this to 2 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    5. LOOK AT YOUR BACKGROUND IT WILL BE FREAKY

  • so cuteee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love them i; ' ..

    they are so cute.

  • aggeed!!

  • They're all adorable. <3

The sad thing is most of these kids really do live in the slums...

  • Well, not most. Two of the kids do, the rest are middle class.

  • what the interviewers WONT tell you, is that the kids really do live the same slums they were filmed in.

  • These two kids don't live in the slums. They're both middle-class kids.

  • These two kids don't live in the slums. The two kids who played the young version of Latika and Salim lived in the slums.

  • no. they really found these kids in the slum. it was on ellen. but now they're in school and everything. but before the movie, they really DID live in the slums.

  • These two kids didn't live in the slums. In the video, their parents were like I didn't want them to act in this movie because of the bad conditions. And the mom was like, my kid really looked like he was in the slums! Or something like that. According to anusheahmed, the actors who played young Latika and Salim lived in slums before the movie.

  • no they didnt. only the youngest versions of salim and laitka are actually slum kids. the rest belong to middle class families. and i guess you know that dev patel, the guy who played the oldest version of jamal is from london.

  • in the story it was a pit of dystentry poo

  • this kid is cute!!! =]

  • OMG DID HE REALLY JUMP ON CHOCOLATE !?!?!?!? OMG !!! LOL!!! LUUUUUUUUUUCKY haha this is too funny

  • Hey what does jai ho mean? LOVED THE MOVIE!

  • jai ho means Victory :))

  • im not certian but im pretty sure jai ho means victory

  • that little kid is soo adorable!!!

  • ''I want to be an actor as well as scientist also'' @ 1:55

    LMAO!!

  • hahahahhahahah AWESOME LOL!!! XDDDDD

  • Was that real poop?not tryna be funny

  • no???

  • Guess not. A lot of things can resemble poop.

  • It was chocolate, I believe.

  • Yeah it was chocolete, wow that kid was lucky.

  • yeah, jumping in choclat and being in like the worlds best movei, hes must be the luckiest kid ever

  • didnt you listen.?it was chocolate;

    yum, hahaa.

  • THIS WAS JUST A GREAT MOVIE

  • CUTE

  • ROFL the security gaurd punched him !! LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLhahahah no offense but it was a great movie and the kids acted the best... :D

  • i knew it was chocolate...thats why i didnt wince when i watched the movie :) looked like pudding x] and those kids are adorable! and not bad at their acting chops...so kudos to them and their futures!

  • in the movie your like: ugh... he jumped on shit...

But he is like! YEAH IM FULL OF CHOCOLATE

  • i would love to see their movies!

  • I wish these kids good luck in their future venture...........

  • I like younger Jamal, he is soooo cute! :D

  • these little ones are cute

  • ayush is just the cutest. hehe. i hope these kids grow up well without the hardship shown on the film.

  • That would be so cool jumping into a pool of chocolate!! who wouldn't want to do that???

  • The teenage jamal looks EXACTLY like a little indian boy I know called Kamal. It's like he's his older brother or something

  • i like the teenage jamal..hihi

  • teenage jamal (tanay chaddha) gonna be a handsome man one day.

    haha.

    great job kids !

    :)

  • ayush is a cutie

  • I think Ayush Mahesh Khedekar is SO cute. Throughout the entire movie, I just wanted to pick him up and cradle him. Haha.

My favorite part is when he dances in front of young Latika just prior to him going off to sing in front of Maman. He also dances at the end when they show the closing credits. <33333

  • Oh my gosh! I love that part, too! When he dances like a little Michael Jackson before he goes to sing. lol And she says, "I hope you sing better than you dance," in Hindi. haha Oh my gosh yea he is maybe the most beautiful child I have ever seen. He is going to be very handsome in ten years!

  • the boy who played jamal as a child was beaten up by his father because the child said he was too tired to see all the people outside his house so his father hit and kicked him.

this is no joke and its only been found out today (27th feb). search it on google if you dont believe it. It is shocking and i cannot believe this child is still living in the slums after the millions of pounds this films made.

  • young jamal was never a slum kid

young latika and young salim grew up in the slums

    get your facts right

also, they're being moved into a house for free and some of the profits from the film are being put towards a trust fund for them so they can get a proper education and be well-off after school too

  • he wasnt 'beaten' he was slapped in the face by his father for not talking to reporters because he was too tired from his flight.

  • @talkachic the guy who played Salim as a child was beaten up,not Jamal

  • Azhar & Latika were the real heroes of the movie, for real

  • i thought it was peanut butter

  • The kids make the film!

  • i love yoong jamal

  • DAMMM he jumped in chocolate!!!!!!!!!!

    i wanna jump in chocolate=)

  • lol Chocolate that looks like crap

  • congrats to slumdog for winning the oscars...

  • I like TANNAY Chedda

  • Chocolate, HAHA. Really looked liked shit.

  • holy shit theyre bigger than i thought

  • errr the kids arnt how i imagined them to be :(

  • i dont see whats all the agruments about we should congratulation these children for being the catalyst for the movie of the year and eventual winner for best picture at this years oscars, who cares where they from, all i know is the movie was oustanding

  • and BTW.. the very young Jamal look so different..

  • I dont know why people are fighting here.. I'm not from India.. but i think we're talkin about the movie here.. its all about the acting not how much you got in the bank for God sake.

  • well thats ok, im not from india either. its just my heritage. btw all the translations you see in the subtitiles, i translated myself =).

  • @jmanzano17 Easy for you to say when you don't live in absolute poverty... The point is that this film grossed millions while one little boy suffers greatly still.

  • yes.. arrogant woman. These people keep class system going.

  • Did anyone notice the arrogance and bad attitude towards slums in that mother's voice(Tejal)? Welcome to india, where you'll find maharajas and abstract poverty at the same time in the same place! India is just a step away from civil wars if such ignorance is meted out to certain sections irrespective of their caste or religion.

  • i think you mistook what she meant lol. she was commenting on how well he appeared as a slum kid, that he even fooled the security gaurds on the set who mistakened him for a slum kid trying to sneak onto the set hehe. thats what she was commenting about.

  • where are the youngest salim played by azhar and youngest latika played by rubeena??

since htey still live in slums so the reporter did not went to interview them,,i think azhar is kidnapped

  • actually i have another video where they were interviewed. ill post it here in the video response.

  • I loved the youngest kid who played Salim - he shone for me the most.

  • Azhar Mohammed Ismail is his name, yeah he was straight from the slums him and the youngest girl playing Latika, Rubina Ali. That's why those two were the most natural that's thier everyday life.

  • This movie shines thanks to the kids.

  • themother is talking about a security guard keeping the slumkids out - ahm...hw about helping them out with food or clean water ???

  • lol, you know when you go there and you see huge amount of poverty, its almost next to impossible to tackle. the govt really has its work cut out for them. 800 MILLION people live on less than $2 per day. thats why you see soo many indians fleeing to the west, and why so many live in america, the land of opportunity. i am indian, i am a muslim and my parents taught me to appreciate how lucky we are to live here compared to the poverty that exists in india.

  • i dont know what you are pissed off about. who you should be pissed off at are all the bullshit nri's who travel back only to show off and rub it in everyone's face. dont blame me for apna desi culture obssession with money and class. as for me, no im not a gujju, my family speaks urdu, im hyderabadi, as are the two little kids in the other video i posted in the response.

  • hyderbadi priiidddee (:

    just had to say that

and seriously this movie was GOOD.

they showed what india looks like. now, i love india too. i live in america but truthfully thats what india looks like, there is trash on the roads, and cows and dogs roaming everywhere you go.

i'm glad they didn't try to fake what it looked like.

but people should know not all of it looks like that.

    the villages are BEAUTIFUL.

and the cities look like cities.

  • what the man is saying in hindi "we went to a very dirty area, bandra (bombay neighborhood) and when i looked at the place i thought, what kind of movie are we making here?" LOL.

  • These kids are genius.

it is one of the best performances in a movie ever. NO real actors!!!! wuaaauuuu

  • These kids were great, they were the real stars. Congrats.

  • What a wonderful film!!

I've watched MANY great movies and I've never had a favorite movie until Slumdog Millionaire.

The children in the film were incredible, they deserve awards for their performances!!

The children in the movie was what made this movie so wonderful.

    Thank you,

    From NYC

  • Tanay Chheda played the role of Rajan Damodaran(Ishan's friend) in Taare Zameen Par.

My best wishes to these kids. I'm still to watch SM though.

  • the best to all these kids!

  • wow, it's so nice to hear from those kids. They did an amazing job. And now, they have a trust fund to their names after finishing school. Another reason to love "Slumdog".
