  • Magnetos a badass. He got the physical one, Xavier got the mental. Even professor says one day you'll possess power even I can't match--jean grey tho--is magneto without just metal. Shes the ultimate badass. U gotta give xmen credit it's well thought out.

  • @money123456111 No the reason why he could lift him up was because the man/guard had high levels of iron in his blood. otherwise his powers wouldn't have worked.

  • @razlubinsky The way that he was able to escape was because he had Mystice inject the guard with iron in to the guard at a bar. So the guard had high levels of iron in him. And iron is a type of metal.

  • "Mr. Laurio never trust a beautiful woman, especially one that's interested in you"

    Damn..

  • 0:53 disgusting. Other than that part, scene was awesome.

  • Fatties. Always screwing things up.

Props to Magneto though; "Sit your ass back down!" "...No."

  • magneto lifts up anything

  • maser of magnetism ,electromagnetism, electromagnetic spectrum, molecule magnetic manupulation = MAGNETO

  • Sir Ian McKellen = teh WIN.

    That is all.

  • LIKE BAUS!

  • This is ian mckellen.....there were no special effects used

  • In X-Men TAS, Magneto is able to simultaneously lift 4 "kiloton sized" transports from the Earth to Asteroid M, 250km above the earth's surface, while maintaining a forcefield around himself to hold in enough air to survive the journey.

The only magnetic reference points he would have are the asteroid and the earth itself. Using the Asteroid to "pull" himself would not work, because that would de-orbit the asteroid.

So magneto's range is actually at least 250km for multi-kilo-ton lifting.

  • This reminds me of Hannibal Lecter's escape in Silence of the Lambs

  • Imagine magneto VS Venom!

  • lol that wink..it's become ian's trademark..he even does it as gandalf several times lol

  • 1:16 wink ;)

  • 1:23

    oO(Fuck my life...)

  • I hate being a person who overthinks things but that building he is housed in has to be made of metal and I would think he would be able to control metal from at least a half mile.

  • @cowtowngrl

    It's "Writer Induced Stupidity."

It does make a cool scene though.

In the cartoons and comics, the limit of his range seems to be at least a couple dozen MILES for lifting hundred-ton objects, such as Tanks, or de-orbiting satellites.

And yes, the trace metals in a person's blood, bone, and other tissues would be all he would need to escape. The scene with Mystique injecting the guy with several CC's of iron was unnecessary.

  • @Wade23581

You actually have about 2.5 grams of iron in your bloodstream to begin with, not counting all of the trace iron in your body. That's about the mass of a coin.

But iron isn't the only metal he can control, and there's other trace metals in the plastic and in the food and in the guards' bodies.

In the comics and cartoons he is regularly seen ripping I-beams or re-bar out of concrete, pavement, or from bunkers from a distance of hundreds of yards.

  • Two security guards have enought iron in his blood...

  • Best scene in any of the movies, easily top 3 anyway.

  • Don't mess with the white mage

  • This kind of reminds me of the Hannibal Lector escape from silence of the lambs... I was half expecting magneto to have a couple drawings on his dinner table along with the classical music!

  • Brilliant scene that displays Magneto's powers of magnetism with utter comic book perfection. One of my favorite scenes out of the entire film. Cudos to Bryan Singer on this triumph.

  • @LATVERIAN1 What I always loved so much about this scene is when Magneto is floating in his disc he has the two smaller metal particles swirling around him like electrons in an atom. Very nice touch. Excellent scene!

  • You shall pass LOL

  • To przez płatki z żelazem .. xD

  • haha magneto...what a badass

  • What movie is this from

  • @Mehraj101 X2:X-MEN UNITED

  • This should be his lvl 4 :}

  • Too much Jeremy Irons in your blood.

  • @TOURSHEEYA that much iron would give you an intoxication

  • YOU SHALL NOT PASS! *mumbles* unless you have a levitating metal disk..

  • from the looks of it, that must've been one EXTREMELY THIN metal disk he floated away on.

  • DAMM NATURE U SCARY!

  • here's my motherfuckin' farm!!!....

    ohh wait...

  • Bamf

  • what a fuckin G lol best part of x2

  • Shouldn't Magneto be able to escape anyway? He controls magnetic fields, not metal, couldn't he just crush the shit out of his cell, and then use the magnetic fields to carry him to the door, break it open, and use it as a force field?

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser he was in a prison made completely out of plastic.

  • @swrandomartist17 he controls magnetic fields, not metal

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser yes but.. magnetic fields dont really work on plastic and cant lift a human body.. so in a way, he controls metal.. the magnetic fields can only do so much..

  • @BigMisterApple he can create force fields around himself, he could just create a thick one and keep expanding it until the prison breaks, then he can fly by pushing himself away from any metallic minerals in the ground below

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser hmm, the flying part because of any minerals in the ground below, yeah.. I can see that happening in the X-men universe, but again the entire prison is made of stone and/or plastic, doubtfull he could break it with magnetic powers.. in any case, even if he could manage all that, keep in mind he was drugged most of the time..

  • @BigMisterApple He can fly because he can manipulate Earths magnetic fields, he flew here by simply hovering that saucer he made under him.

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser exactly, he should be able to generate it.

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser in the movie he was just the master of metals... or something like that.

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser put it this way the moviemakers wasent advanced as us then :P ^^

  • @FireIsTheCIeanser Unfortunately it seems the movies really downplayed how powerful Magneto really is.

  • FUCKIN´ BEST FILM BADASS EVEL GAY EVER!

  • Placing Magneto in a prison cell containing metal, BIG MISTAKE!!

  • @Chopper77ify It doesn't have metal in it

  • @Cirvantes123 I thought that Magneto is only able to move metal

  • @Chopper77ify He is. On the movie right before this scene Mystique drugs the fat guard and injects him with a ton of liquid iron. Magneto is moving that metal that is inside his body

  • @Cirvantes123 Thanks, that explains it.

  • @Cirvantes123 Oh I get it, it's the metal balls that he used to escape

  • Love the sound when Magneto uses his powers!

  • Hemoglobin is not ferromagnetic.

  • To much iron in your blood ... :P

  • Magneto was the passion to Charles's intellect...agreed?

  • You see you always see Magneto using his powers in a cool way, but they never show Xavier doing stuff as cool.

  • @Scoonertuna So you've never seen the scene in X2 where Pyro shows off and he makes the entire mall full of people stop moving, erases their memories, then creates an illusion and makes them invisible?

  • @Disneythievesrock I'm not saying he didn't show him using his powers. They just don't show him using his powers in a cool way, like fighting someone. The only time we saw that was in X3, but that movie was shit anyway. You remember the deleted scene in X2 where Xavier thinks he and Cyclops are escaping? Something like that.

I'm just saying that it seems that the filmmakers are putting more emphasis on the villain then they are the hero.

  • @Scoonertuna Well, that's cause he's a pacifist who figures out how to solve the problem without fighting.

  • if i had his powers

  • Gandalf Rulz!!! hahaahahahahahah

  • THAT MAGENTO IS SCARY but erik aint scary

  • my favourite part in EVERY x men is when magneto gains his power back at the very end of the movie

  • my favorite scene in the triology magneto is one of the baddest ass villians in the whole series..powerful sophisticated ruthless...Ian McKellen was perfect for this role. shame to see him lose his power in the end scene of the last stand. guess it sent spend your whole life hating a certain people until your viewed in the same way as one of them. only then you realized how foolish it all was. life has a way of enlightening the ignorant.

  • Does anyone else notice the wink @ 1:15?

  • Magneto only trusts beautiful men ;) (hint, hint)

  • @tacticalbambi haha yes the actor is a fag

  • Magneto has XRay eyes and the ability to float in the air for long periods of time. His powers are useless if he is exposed to tonktanite! In the next Marvel movie he fights Aquaman and Popeye.

  • Hydroxide Sodium Sodium

    What's my name?

  • hes the fuckin man

  • @willy1986tralara He is Gandalf the white,lol

  • he likely had 0bama suck his cock after this scene....

    while B0 worshipped Allah.

    Bwahahahaha...

  • so graceful Prof X allowed this to happen tehee

  • Gandalf The White.. ;)

  • love this scene

  • I just don't understand!. Magneto says there's too much iron in his blood. How could Mystique simply inject iron into his blood. It needs to be molten hot. Unless it's mercury or some other liquid metal. How stupid is that??!

  • @hisyamuddinistari

There's iron in everyone's blood, but your blood isn't molten hot. In your blood, iron is part of a protein called hemoglobin. The iron is dissolved in the blood at the molecular level. Whatever Mystique injected him with would have been some kind of iron compound dissolved in something else. It entered his bloodstream, and Magneto was able to rip it out.

  • @stopthemadness99

There definitely is iron in everyone's blood. But it is only in trace amounts. Probably by the milligram. Couldn't be more than 1kg. But what magneto extracts from his blood is clearly the same amount being injected by mystique. So there is definitely something amiss here.

  • @hisyamuddinistari It was liquid, when he pulls it out of the body he forms it into small balls.

  • @hisyamuddinistari

No, it's in tablet form. And all of us have iron in our blood, from various sources.

  • gandalf y so srs?

  • This is why Magneto is my favorite Marvel character.

  • this page is full of nerds love it

  • I find your lack of faith disturbing.

  • blood for the blood god :52

  • what a BAWS!

  • Ian is the best Eric! Eah...so fucking COOL power and acting)))

  • HE LOOKS SO FUCKING BADASS WHEN HE FLATTENS IT AT 1:33 !!! Argh Ian <3

  • Those things just flick like fucking bullets!

  • He clicked to unleash the ponies powers.

  • I loved this movie! Battle Los Angeles rocks!!!

  • "Never trust a beautiful woman, especially one who's interested in you."

    JEEZ MAGNETO WHAT A DICK.

  • thank u SO MUCH for uploading this

  • Magneto is such a boss.

  • magneto could have easily pulled metal from any where on the planet.

  • Magneto>everyone else

  • Maybe he took iron pills xP wait, i mean, Fish Oil pills. Yeah that's it xD

  • if a person had that much iron in his blood he would have died of iron poisoning.

  • @chengda85 he looked a bit sick as he was entering

  • @chengda85 Magneto might've spread out the iron super thin, and used his powers to reinforce its integrity.

  • Never trust a beautiful woman, especially one who's interested in you.

    Lolbeans!

  • Who rotated this scene? It is rotated horizontally. The scene is not 100% original.

  • i love the humming sound when magneto uses his powers

  • Comment removed

  • LOL IF HE STEP ON THAT METAL PLATFORM AN FELL XD11

  • Why not just use a crossbow to kill Magneto ?

  • Im pretty sure this is all CGI not even Ian can be this badass

  • 1:46 "I am Magneto! Master of Magnet!"

  • part 2 is the best among the franchise. Odd, though, 'cause in first class Magneto didn't have the accent.

  • Erik Lehnsherr... clearly my favorite!

  • magneto is a BADASS

  • @petujaymz haha yes it should be.

  • @petujaymz look at the title of the video

  • @FuzzyMonkeyFilms

    yeah...

    you've changed it

  • @petujaymz im not the maker of this video

  • @FuzzyMonkeyFilms

    neither is ur FACE

    stfu faggot

  • @petujaymz im not the maker of this video.....

  • @petujaymz Why dont you upload it then you fat fuck.

  • well at least Magneto enjoys the classic music

  • I think, that guard would be dead long before he came to prison because of metal poisoning.

  • How could he make that big metal platform with such a tiny piece of metal?

  • @daniel7899999: simple metal property of elasticity. Magneto's powers can control metal objects that are both big and small. Maintaining the integrity of a single-molecule thin sheet of metal as a flying platform should be as easy as blinking and breathing for him.

  • @daniel7899999 that disk was probably very thin, so it was the same mass.

it's made of iron which is the most magnetic metal there is, therefore the easiest for Magneto to manipulate

  • Excellent!!!!

  • This is like a super villain version of Hannibal Lecter's escape in Silence of The Lambs! XD They both contain brilliant British actors! XD

  • I love that menacing wink he gives!

  • Truly one of the best Magneto scenes in cinema history! Thanks for the upload, cause I've been looking for this everywhere!

  • @Funnyman519

    same here

    omfg

    u suk

  • Look at the guard's uniform,he's wearing full of metal buttons and buckles. He should have died since the first day.

  • Now that I think about it, with how powerful Magneto is in the films, it's kind of a weak plot condition with them keeping him locked up, the metal detector isn't that far from where he's kept, the guy can lift virtually any metalic structure he desires, how could he not summon some metal from a hundred or so feet away?

I suppose they could always say his special cell helps to greatly repel magnetic waves, but they didn't bother saying anything like that.

  • dude, its heavily implied that it is not only plastic, but also prevents/inhibits his ability to use his powers beyond the walls of the plastic prison.

  • @TheIrishEnigma I always assumed that he could not control metal without being in eye contact with it. I know he didn't actually SEE the metal in the guard's body, but he could've still FELT it since it was right there in front of him.

  • Most badass scene of the whole series. And then people want to explain me, that Magneto can fly. If he did, why wouldnt he? When he usually flies, its because of the metal parts of his outfit.

  • @Riwillion he can only fly if there's metal around him

  • @CIarKent

Yes, thats what I said. But some people claim that he can create some magnetic field around himself that makes him fly, which I believe to be a bullshit. It just makes no sense.

  • @Riwillion in the first scene of x-men we see Magneto in the concentration camp and he doesn't appear to be wearing any metal, and when he pulls the fence he gets pulled toward it too, the guards were barely able to hold him as he was being pulled himself.

so he does the same thing in order to fly, by "pushing off" against metal objects.

the only times we see him fly is when there are metal objects near him (statue of liberty, submarine, bridge and so on). because he can push/pull off them

  • @CIarKent and the earth's gravitational magnetic field where all his power comes from

  • @TheHolyman777 yes the earth's magnetic field also has to be involved.

otherwise how could he have flown out of that plastic prison standing on the metal disk? even if he could pull the disk toward himself, he would still fall down with it, so there had to be an 'outside' force involved as well in order for him to levitate together with the metal.

but he can only tap into the earth's magnetic field if there is a metal near him. he couldn't fly without metal being near him

  • @CIarKent Maybe that's true of movie Magneto but comic book Mags flies by generating powerful magneto-gravitic fields. He can fly no matter how little ferrous material may be around, though having a lot of that kind of stuff nearby would make it easier for him. In any case, he has so much practice doing it that it's second nature. The only scenarios that would make it hard for him would be if he were seriously hurt or not on Earth, since he'd have to "recalibrate" for another planet's EM field.

  • @CIarKent

that's because of action/reaction (he pulls, thus gets pulled) when he has metal on, he gets pulled more

  • @CIarKent Magneto, in the X-Men movies, is basically like a human magnet. He can push off of metal objects to fly or he can manipulate them using his magnetic fields (which he can produce around or inside the metal object giving him full control of it). Magneto can also fly by controlling the metal in his costumes and although I'm not 100% sure he's ever done this in the movies, he certainly could. You bring up good points though.

  • @Furinkazan20 no no no... he can control the electromagnetic fields of earth....

  • @zeromant80 Maybe that's how it works in the comics because I'm not 100% sure. However, the movie incarnation of Magneto (who we are talking about) has the ability to CREATE magnetic fields and control metal. Think back to the first movie of the franchise when Professor X (Patrick Stewart) was talking to Wolverine when they first met. Professor X pretty much tells Wolverine the same exact thing that I just said regarding Magneto's powers. Thanks.

  • @Furinkazan20 damn, i totally forgot about the fist 3 xmen movies... thanks.

  • @CIarKent In the Comics, Magneto can fly by travelling along the earths magnetic fields, he doesn't need metal, I think they simply "lowered" his power in the movies for practical reasons

  • @alvinkim47ENT it was a good decision. characters can't be too powerful. if he could fly anytime anywhere he'd be like superman. movies need to be more realistic than the comics and more grounded in reality. otherwise the film would look more like a cartoon

  • @CIarKent

Though he does clearly levitate in the first movie in the Statue of Liberty scene at the end........just sayin'

  • @DrStrangefate that's because the statue of liberty is made of metal, and as I said he can push/pull off metal objects.

in X-men first class he also flew when he was near the submarine.

in the movies he can only fly when there are large metal objects near him, or when standing on a small metal object (like in his escape scene in X2)

  • @CIarKent not just metal objects, metal in the ground. he can probably use the metal in his body and the Earth's magnetic field, as well.

  • @shadowseraph78 funny part is that in reality not all metals are magnetic. non-magnetic metals are actually not affected by magnetic fields, they are the same as plastic in their reaction to magnetic fields.

only very few metals are magnetic and react to magnetic fields (iron for example).

but since most people are ignorant of this fact the comics and movies make it look like all metals are magnetic

  • @CIarKent yeah, only certain metals are ferromagnetic. he can influence subatomic particles, however, as well as actually create wormholes. His powers are reflective of the unified-field theory.

  • @shadowseraph78 yeah my point was if he can move all metals than he should be able to move non-metalic stuff as well.

it is actually possible to move anything if the magnetic force you're using is strong enough.

there's a video on youtube of an experiment in which they made a frog levitate using magnetic fields

  • @CIarKent i'm sorry, your explanation is wrong. If an opposite reaction force is exerted on Magneto himself when he moves metal, he couldn't have been carried by the metal disc in this scene because the 2 forces cancel out resulting a zero net force. It's high school physics.

It's just like holding a skateboard against your feet but sadly you can't fly by doing that, i tried. :D

  • @CallMehChris If he is able to control the metal disc in anyway he wants, then he can make it hold him while in the air.

  • @quizmo1000 that's true! if he can control metal without experiencing reaction force

  • @CallMehChris he rips a hole in space/time when he manipulates metal. every time he uses his powers the lights should go out and computers whip clean because of the magnetic-fields generated but they don't. he can manipulate metal and the magnetic fields perfectly anyway he wants as-long as they are with in range. that's how he's able to fly; he basically makes mini planets out of the metal he controls generating fields that counter balance with earths own magnetic field and gravity...

  • @lostaznking = = ok
