Wow that was heartbreaking...I lived in Philippines for a while and this level of poverty is rampant, yet the people I met were all so kind and even generous with what little they had. Yes its true that if they had only 1-2 kids it would be easier but religous beliefs and tradition has perpetuated these large but destitue families.

My concern is why does that man hav so many kids. If he knows he in incapable to feed his own kids, why can't he have 1 or 2 kids? The greatest culprit in this video is the man himself, who is having 8 or 10 kids, inspite of knowing the fact that he cannot afford to feed them. This is not ignorance but insensibility.

Actually it is the food subsidies of the West and Europe which are so damaging to 3rd world nations. It isn't like they can compete with us on technology. If we weren't subsidizing and dumping mass amounts of food in the markets, they could grow food and actually be able to sell it profitably on the world markets. hi, i saw this video shown in today's episode of The Feast with Bro. Bo Sanchez for Kerygma TV in TV5. it is an eye opener for me of the reality I'm actually just ignoring. also, this has made me think of how little my faith is compared to this family who may be one of the poorest in the country but showed their strong faith in God by being grateful still, despite the poverty, as they thank God for their meals.
