Yep..The job seems to get to some of these people's head. I went to two lots of officers for help after being harrassed. They arrested me instead and it got worse from their. When I attempted to speak up about it (since it all took place under cctv footage)....I was hushed. I now have been assaulted and frightened further and ignored by police.I've lost friends..due to misconceptions circulated by an officer. I and suddenly I went from being a good citizen ..to having a huge police record.
There needs to be laws that severely punish cops who abuse their duties to protect and serve! Till then, cops will abuse, beat and murder as if they have a license to! I did some digging.The claim against him:" Dixon was interfering with attempts by emergency personnel to resuscitate the victim. The officers reported Dixon refused to step out of the garage and let medical personnel take over. He then allegedly retaliated when officers attempted to stop him entering his house, which was a crime scene." Guess what? The grand jury will NOT bring charges against any of the cops. Add insult to injury the DA is still considering felony obstruction charges for Dixon.

Dixon must have been in shock after what he'd found and then not being able to resuscitate kid must have put him in quite a state. Then the poor bastard just wants to go in his house, the cops say he "retaliated" Dixon says he pulled his arm away, I tend to believe him because if he took a swing or a kick that would have been in the charge against him. They could have found a better way to restrain him than a beating.

Most of my rels can't believe it either and they work in it all day. My bro was telling me they need to start random drug tests on cops for everything, especially steroids. Many depts don't test at all for drugs or it's annual and they have time to "prepare" I guess the designer roids can be covered up with other drugs.

I don't know if it has always been like this, or the advent of video cameras exposed the reality. I don't know if you remember Rodney King, but it was the first video of cops beating the living shit out of a guy for no reason, people were shocked. Now those videos are as common as anything.

What's frightening is that arming ourselves isn't enough. If SWAT teams knock on our doors en mass, we'll be outgunned and out numbered. We've already seen what happens when well armed citizens resist tyranny. They are shot, burned alive, labeled as "kooks," and marginalized. I did some digging.The claim against him:" Dixon was interfering with attempts by emergency personnel to resuscitate the victim. The officers reported Dixon refused to step out of the garage and let medical personnel take over. He then allegedly retaliated when officers attempted to stop him entering his house, which was a crime scene." Guess what? The grand jury will NOT bring charges against any of the cops. Add insult to injury the DA is still considering felony obstruction charges for Dixon.

Dixon must have been in shock after what he'd found and then not being able to resuscitate kid must have put him in quite a state. Then the poor bastard just wants to go in his house, the cops say he "retaliated" Dixon says he pulled his arm away, I tend to believe him because if he took a swing or a kick that would have been in the charge against him. They could have found a better way to restrain him than a beating.

Most of my rels can't believe it either and they work in it all day. My bro was telling me they need to start random drug tests on cops for everything, especially steroids. Many depts don't test at all for drugs or it's annual and they have time to "prepare" I guess the designer roids can be covered up with other drugs.

I don't know if it has always been like this, or the advent of video cameras exposed the reality. I don't know if you remember Rodney King, but it was the first video of cops beating the living shit out of a guy for no reason, people were shocked. Now those videos are as common as anything.

Most of them aren't violent to begin with, it's the police that is using violence to 'settle' or 'calm' or 'win' things. They'll only create more enemies.

@Meowbay It sucks but what you are saying is true I was referring to the escalation in the violence of crimes that started in the 80's and exploded in the 90's and new types of violent crimes. Talking with my grandad he brings up car jackings, rare until the 80's and home invations were almost always drug dealers being robbed. Burglers rarely carried weapons because they knew the time was doubled if they were caught. Police violence rose in proportion and like you say even in first encounters.

This was the scene of a suicide, a young man took his own life in his parent's house.
That has to be one of the hardest scenes for a police officer to witness, imagine the sadness and frustration.
So when "dad" starts acting like a punk there might be extra motivation to put him down. It was consensus not some rogue "beating".
Demonizing our police force w/out all the facts is just as bad as say cheerleading the many illegal wars in the world today.
