Hand-drawn animation, computer animation, these are just mediums which to convey the same story. It could be a damn play and it would still be the same in it's essence, and that's why the new release will indeed be good. If you're so against the new animation series, just stick to the manga.

@Astroranagun While I agree that the art direction of the film trilogy pales in comparison to the original series, I seriously doubt that it will flop. Unless everyone takes the "safe" route by torrenting instead of waiting for a DVD/BR release or risking their cash buying a movie ticket...it's very sad, but times have changed.
Agreed. I don't think a higher budget would have improved the anime. Unlike most, I think the anime is better than the manga (it's more focused on character than magic and violence), and perhaps the best anime made (it's my favorite).
@ilzaurusX4500 Sorry to say... but the anime is almost universally accepted as having some of the worst animation of its time. "Unusually colorful slideshow" if I remember right. Not that I care... that's hardly the draw anyway.

There wasn't as much of the still frame stuff as I expected going in (or I maybe just didn't notice because of the awesomeness of the show itself). I thought the early episodes of Fairy Tail were way worse with the still frames (And that started last year). Whether it is panned for the animation or not, this show is right up there at the top for me.

@ilzaurusX4500 You're referring to the art design... and I agree. I'm referring to the animation (movement of frames). Ever notice the extreme abundance of speed-lines and still shots in Berserk? Their budget was pretty poor... they did what they could with it.
@LynnJynh9315 I actually think the "dirty" look that the show has as well as the limited frames and effects they use to hide how low the budget was gves it a unique favor. I prefer this more than if they could make it perfect since it shows how much talent they actually had at OLM.
@LynnJynh9315 It had a shoestring budget: the fact that they even managed to MAKE a show on that kind of money, never mind a really good one (aside from the animation, which is crappy), is kinda an achievement in and of itself. And the art is beautiful. If it is basically a slideshow, it's a very pretty slideshow :3
Also....well, the other aspects of berserk - the story, the characters, the epic music - are so good that you almost don't notice how bad the animation is ^_^

what I dont get is why you arre blown away by the song at this point...that song plays after the ending when they make a brief resume on what happens next or better said not what happens next but they make some kind of reflection, like a litte essay.
@Maxaker67 Lot's of songs have SUPER crappy quality with that program when added to an ipod..Too many songs require ANOTHER conversion program to a file type that sounds somewhat acceptable. Why not look for the song on google and download it there?? It's so easy, why don't you know that? Think for yourself! =D

I have some good news for you die hard fans. Apparently there are rumors that sometime soon a movie is coming and it's going to initiate a season two kick off. I'm hopeful but to me right now they're just rumors. The ambition apparently is to adapt the entire manga. I really hope it picks back up.

Listen this is official they are planning on releasing berserk movies called the berserk saga first movie will be released mid 2011 advertising posters have been released in magazines. First movie will actually adapt every page released and will stay loyal to the manga as much as possible. They said it'll be made in CGI all information taken from translated texts. the trailers look very promising. i have checked out the manga, and a direct adaptation would probably become one of the best anime of all time. we shall wait and see.

@Rooney15 Sadly its not out yet D: The project was announced in september of 2010. It SHOULD be out before next year, but i believe that they were going to wait for the creator of berserk to finish the current story arc he is on in the manga right now. I've heard rumors that it wont be an anime exactly... more like a movie-ish type of thing (the term is coming to me right now). It will be the Golden Age arc, (im actually wondering how much they'll cut of the golden age.) All can be found online
@Rooney15 I know this is two years old, but you should really read the manga now if you haven't. It's progressed much further than the anime and shows many things that weren't even mentioned or seen. I warn you though, it's so gruesome that the creator Kentaro Miura started having CSR, (aka: Battle Fatigue or Shellshock,) simply from drawing it.
Berserk is depressing but beautiful due to it's dark story, but honestly you won't find it dark as long as you understand the true message within.
I know it's a cliché to say, but the manga continues the story on and is still going all these years. It's also much better than the animé, even though the animé is good too.

thank you so much for uploading THIS Berserk trailer. I've seen a bunch of other ones, but II remember seeing this particular one on a dvd a while back, but I couldn't find it again. Proly the best berserk trailer Imo, but it does make me wish they would finish the anime someday (not that they ever will)

@Rooney15 Sadly its not out yet D: The project was announced in september of 2010. It SHOULD be out before next year, but i believe that they were going to wait for the creator of berserk to finish the current story arc he is on in the manga right now. I've heard rumors that it wont be an anime exactly... more like a movie-ish type of thing (the term is coming to me right now). It will be the Golden Age arc, (im actually wondering how much they'll cut of the golden age.) All can be found online

if you enjoy the anime and if you got no probs with reading mangas, u will love berserk manga
never read a manga like berserk
the final episode of berserk anime will stun you ;)
the ending is just like: WTF OMG 0o
and if you are impressed by the 100 MAN SLAYER you will be amazed, guts improvement is sick

@Rooney15 I know this is two years old, but you should really read the manga now if you haven't. It's progressed much further than the anime and shows many things that weren't even mentioned or seen. I warn you though, it's so gruesome that the creator Kentaro Miura started having CSR, (aka: Battle Fatigue or Shellshock,) simply from drawing it.
Berserk is depressing but beautiful due to it's dark story, but honestly you won't find it dark as long as you understand the true message within.

I know it's a cliché to say, but the manga continues the story on and is still going all these years. It's also much better than the animé, even though the animé is good too.

Oh my goodness. This is way better than the regular trailer for Berserk when it was released in the US. Lots of spoilers, but so much better though.
