Watched the entire movie and funny as Russia in the 50s did not have a delivery system for their atomic & nuclear warheads---see WAR & PEACE IN THE NUCLEAR AGE--PBS late 1980s & book of same title. Head of Soviet Stag. Forces said so in the series and is in the text!
i love this movie, i discovered it through the mst3k version but i'd like to have a pristine copy. i dont agree with the politics of it but i think it's an outstanding cultural and political artifact. and you notice they love to make movies like this nowadays,
John...was that "rant" necessary, he stated a comment that was rather ambiguous.
As far as the French are concerned (everyone's whippin' boy)have you ever had enemy forces march into your country...twice within the span of a lifetime. Some collaborated yes, but many fought with the Allies against the invaders, while others stayed and fought from within (French Resistance).
Before you ask, No...I'm not French, I just don't see history as black and white.
If there is someting I hate more than the French is the Canadians. You're a group of know it alls, whose pedantic attitude is idiotic coming from a country of losers, who accomplish nothing & stand for cowardly defeat. I see history as black and white, Americans chose independence and the Canadian Loyalist chose to be servants of the British Crown. I'll tell you what's black & white,Canadians are censors who fear ideas and want to be controlled. ou are submissive & frightened!
How is pushing your ass back across the border in 1812 make us "a country of losers,
who accomplish nothing & stand for cowardly
defeat", not to mention joining the fight in both World Wars when the call came (while the US sat back and watched for a few years).
And please don't bring up our refusal to be involved in Iraq...we chose to stay the course in Afghanistan and I've had to watch 6 of my friends fall in that desert (yes I'm in the service).
we didn't watch for a few years in ww1 because it was not our war at all it was a european war. in ww2 it started as a european war so we didn't enter also we were in the middle of a depresion. then we entered in 41 andd started by kicking the jappanse off our doorstep. then we had to build up our forces as we were isolationsit also and did not have a suffiecent military strength to go to war on two fronts. so we gave supplies to the allies. ie lend-lease act.
you got outsmarted, theres no need to get angry because hes canadian. he could of been from america but you wouldnt of said if theres anyone i hate more than the french its the americans because all americans think theyre the master race. someones smarter than you, no need to bring nationality into it. canadians arnt all a bunch of know it alls. the rest of the world see america as a bunch of overweight lazy pricks. which is worse than your american stereotype
matt you know nothing about americans we do not think we are the master race and i am sure of that because i know a lot of people who don't think that.

This is by far more scary than the Chuck Norris remake. Also, it could still happen.

Wow. I didn't know they had flat screen TV's back in 1952.

Then Chuck Norris remade this in 1985, and it had a #1 weekend opening....

You mean defending the citizens of America.
You sir, are an ass!
In France 1940, there were cowards like you.
You see you have an advantage over most people. Groveling before the invaders is your
mentality.
And not having a heart or brain, nothing
affects you but your stupid ego.
Now flapdoodle, "Go home and get your fuckin'
shoe shine box!"

Let's re-fight that 1812 thing again. Come on, you'll be happy as Americans.
