  • I am soooo glad Mr. Obama is President now. Things are going to become alot better in the world.

  • the devil has two faces. good cop, bad cop? obama might be the good cop, compared to bush, but he's still a politician who made his way by supporting interests that are not the interests of the people, but those of big business. that's the whole point.

  • Fuck Bill O'Liely!!

  • At least Bill didnt have a hissy fit like he always does on interviews like these. Maybe because Obama has a certain respect he emits when you meet him. At the end he did give him credit to for that. You can't break him O'Reilly! He's not Palin!

  • For all interested parties: Look up on YouTube Burning Down the House - What Caused our Economic Crisis? Then research it all for yourself. Caution: Obama supporters may find his scenes disturbing. Parental guidance is strongly recommended!

  • Did Oreilly just referred to himself as a journalist?

  • me for president -08

  • O'reilly is so arrogant... He makes it seem like diplomacy efforts are a sign of weakness... He really thinks the US can attack another nation in our current position??? If this is the republican view, then God forbid!!!!

  • NObama

    Vote McCain:

Iraq: If we leave Iraq we are leaving behind thousands of terrorists to kill INNOCENT Iraqi citezens. This means they WILL return to America!

The troops NEED to stay in Iraq, we would lose more by ignoring them than fighting them.

    VOTE MCCAIN

  • innocent iraqi citizen's????i dont think they appreciated america for helping them out, look what happened to bush with the shoe incident.......

  • What does it mean when McCain ,OReilly and others claim the surge worked? It does not make sense. Did it help eradicate the extremists? No Did it help create a sustainable political reform among Iraqis? No...big no Did it create a condition where we can get our troops out of that country? Absolutely Not. So just stop bragging about the false success of the surge. Get our brothers and sisters out of Iraq.!!!!!

  • Helped sucure oil, helped support defence spending, helped create middle eastern bases, used lots of oil. For the people in charge of this war they are doing a great job. Its scary but if the people of earth want peace we will get it. All we can do is belive.

  • Obama STILL can not admit he was wrong about opposing the surge. He even said it would make things worse and voted against the funding. At least he's FINALLY admitted it's worked. I also disagree with O'Reilly that Obama was right about initially opposing the war in Iraq. Unless Obama had some secret intelligence while he was a member of the Illinois senate that no one else had. Given that the world all thought Hussein had WMD and was a threat, Obama was wrong to oppose the invasion.

  • it's called common sense dumbass. And not buying into all the hype.

Maybe if you paid a little attention instead of looking at pictures of brad pitt with his shirt off all day.

  • The whole world thought Iraq had WMD because the Bush administration dismissed the formality of "proof" to deceive to the world.

  • faux news till the end. wake up sheeple. like Gore Vidal said we are the stupidest first world country in the world. Dont think so ask your child where is china on the map with out the words on it. and then ask them what are they two countries on either side of montana. The sheeple choose to believe what the mainstream media tells them. wake up for once shit. mcc ain is not the answer and neither is palin. do your research goddamnit. because i refuse to pander to hypocrites.

  • For all those people commenting here about Obama's so called inability to answer "yes" and "no":

These issues are too complicated to be discussed in terms of yes and no. Did the surge reduce violence? Yes it did, but that doesn't mean it was effective, as Obama said it still didn't reduce the Iraqi government's dependency on our military. These are all complicated issues, i think we've already seen what a yes or no candidate has done (Bush with the current Iraq situation).

  • Of course the surge has been effective!!!! We have now turned the security control of 11 (out of 18) provinces over to Iraq. Including Anbar.

The hand-over was greeted by Iraqis as a sign of the dramatic security progress that has been made ...

"If we had dreamed this in our wildest dream two or three years ago, people would have laughed at us and ridiculed us," Iraqi national security adviser Mouwafak al-Rubaie said. "Now it is a reality."

  • This thought came to mind when watching that interview.

Imagine Sarah Palin sitting there instead. She wouldn't know where to begin. She might have been able to answer a question or two about a bake sale at the next PTA meeting, but life & death world situations?

America would be a sitting duck with Palin in office if God forbid McCain's health were to fail.

Obama looks prepared & this interview in the lion's den showed a lot of character, intellect, vision, & good judgment on Obama's part.

  • Obama has a point about not announcing he will militarily attack Iran. Iran is a huge threat, and by no means is anyone saying that we shouldnt attack them. however, people simply think that the only solution is to bomb the hell out of a country of mainly innocent people. The world must unite to defeat Iran, not just the US

  • Obama would make a good whitehouse press secretary, he should start there, but he's not even that high on the ladder.

  • I am losing a lot of faith in Obama. Why can't the guy give straight answers?

I dunno who to vote for these days. I guess the star status is fading from Obama and I am seeing who he really is and I don't like it.

  • I thought he did give pretty straight answers. What did you want to hear that you didn't?

  • seemed a lot of it was either double talk or avoidance. It's either yes or no about the surge. It really isn't this interview that was a turn off for me it was many other things that surround Obama that did it for me. I guess I will have to sit and watch for a few weeks more till I make my final discussion of who I really want to vote for.

  • You're not the first person I've heard that says that, but I admit I like to hear the details. Sometimes, an answer is more complex than "yes" or "no." He was saying that "Yeah, it worked as far as controlling the violence, but it's not all a good thing because the Iraqis are still not taking responsibility for their own country." O'Reilly is trying to make a point by demanding a straight yes or a no, but Obama was trying to explain his point.

  • Obama is brilliant!!

OReilly is an idiot, racist, liar and hypocrite and he sure pushes his right wing agenda. OReilly says we should be nice to poor Sarah Palin about her daughter. It's not her fault she has a pg daughter, but he says Jamie Spears' pregnancy is the fault of her parents?! What?! Different standards for the Republican beauty queen?

I am so frightened for this country. Have you forgotten gas at almost $5 a gallon? It was $1.50 a gallon when Clinton left office.

  • Big Bill can't wait!!! Fight every god damn country in the world because they don't have the american dream or I mean Nightmare... I have lost hope in all candiates right down to the local level... no one is in it for you they are in it only for money

  • This election will come down to independents voting for one candidate or the other-Fact.

Im an independent w/no party affiliation. People like me will decide this election. We are neither wacky right or insane left.

I can tell you, one thing that is helping me decide on who to vote for are the people I see supporting this candidate or that candidate, and quite frankly there are way more mentally sick people on the one side that normal Americans loathe

Most likely I will B voting 4 McCain

  • Like 2 kids arguing politics is linked with media we no longer decide our president becuase its turned to childish acts not reality were ur decision affect millions they have saperated themselves from the people

  • O'Reilly is the most unprofessional journalist in history.

  • Its all rehearsed just like his speeches, written by a team.

  • he's smart and intelligence seems to scare you, or confuse you, or both.

  • how can you write answers to an interview?

  • LOL like O'Reily would do that. I dont like the man, but 100% of people would say that he would no in any way help Obama in that kind of way. that's just a ignorant closed minded comment. How about saying... Damn Obama answered the questions with detail and and specifiably.

  • dammm obama is very smart

  • This is so funny: I want to share another's comment:

"We can slove the gas prices if we make a car that run on dead rebubicans. They are so full of shit we would have a endless supply. "

  • 12 billion a month,and he was refusing to

fund the schip programs/cut the down pymnt

assistance program for fha,im all for being

pro-life but the conservatives dont give a damn about you after your born.

  • O'Reilly is Fox's Ted Baxter. He a self-important pompous ass.

  • this o'reilly cunt has 1 version of events in his inbred head all the time. he knows nothing like most of u dumb ass americans, americans shudnt even gt oil coz u got ur own but dnt wana use it, raping the 3rd world of all its recsources.

  • This is sick. Two guys who know the truth of the geopolitical scene but hold themselves tight to the talking points that are allowed them. And a percentage of the populace just take it in at face value, and stick their fingers inside one puppet or the other. It's the same global interests that control both puppets. They are corporate whores.

  • IM not a fan of Oreilly, but I like it how just because bill o reilly doesnt hate george bush people say hes some sort of bush poster child

  • O'Reilly has no understanding of Iran & lacks any cultural understanding. They have a secret svc agency that is as widespread as the Mosad and culture of not fearing suicide bombing - that's the only way they were able to exhaust the Iraqis during the Iran-Iraq war. Nearly a whole generation of Iranian males were nearly wiped out by acting as human shields. The Iranian government is oppressive, but must be distinguished from the people. Attempting regime change like in Iraq will be devastating.

  • Hey Obama, it was America's policy for regime change in Iraq, that was passed By Bill Clinton the "Iraq Liberation Act" was passed by unanimous consent in the Senate!(Joe Biden anyone!), Saddam Hussein was giving money to families of suicide bombers that bomb inside of Israel and also giving money to support Hamas and other terrorist groups. After Saddam used WMD's on his own people we could not allow that chance. You don't get it, and thats why you cannot be trusted as Commnader-in-Chief

  • Promoting regime change does not mean invasion. I don't think that suicide bombers in Palestine were thinking about Saddam Hussein. They are more likely frustrated about the poverty and discrimination they suffer with lack of any hope in their future. After establishing the No-fly zone, he never set foot into the Kurdish territory and would never had had the capability to commit genocide.

  • these are not the problems of the united states. they are israel's problems not ours.

what about the real threat to world peace that chinese dictatorship that we make wealthier and more powerful each day. they have 5,000 nukes and give cou ntries like n.korea,iran.syria,zimbawei weapons and technology. and they are responsible for darfur. so get real.

  • This interview goes to the core of who Obama is - A GIANT! Anytime he would agree to give a loon like O'Reily the time of days speaks volumns about his character. Obama/Biden'08!

  • Yeah, because Iran with a nuke will sooo likely want to begin a nuclear exchange with the states. You can say a lot of bad things about Ahmadineschad, but the guy doesn´t strike me as suicidal.

As for anyone giving nukes to terrorists: No sane government would ever give a nuke to an organisation they can´t control. AIn´t gonna happen.

  • a man of his word! A GIANT really, I agree!

    "OBAMA 08"

  • O'Reilly is the Morton Downey Jr. of journalism. Get louder anytime you disagree and disrespect when your argument is proven faulty. I wish someone would stick a cancerous WMD in his ass and watch him "do it live".

  • I tell ya what, what a bunch weak individuals that have to resort to (maybe that's their education level) cursing and name calling. Whether you are a Republican or Democrat that's spewing this filth out of your mouths you ought to be ashamed of youselves. The rest of us should listen to the candidates and their agenda and not some foul mouthed, self-centered potty mouth.

  • jmknapp: Will you be posting the rest of this interview? Nobody else has more than this first 7 minutes and your quality is great.

  • Yes, but they won't air until next week.

  • The surge may have reduced some of the violence, but its kind of like brushing the problem under the carpet. The conditions which led to the violence are still intact, and just because you kill a bunch of the agitators in the country doesnt mean that you make it a safer place. Only a return to security and normalcy will ensure that Iraq is out of the woods in regards to terrorism and random violence.

  • How can we trust Palin to take on terrorists should she become president, when she won't even take questions from the big bad mainstream media? Obama takes on all comers, including this biggest TV blowhard of them all (though to his credit at least O'Reilly admits his errors - something most righty talkers never do) and has a forceful but civil discussion. I hope the American people see behind the Palin-McCain curtain sooner rather than later...

  • Obama had good responses but never answered the question being asked. He planned this on the same day of the RNC so nobody would see how weak he is on security.

  • What a joke....Obama says that the surge was successful but he can't say it was right and that he was wrong for not supporting it. The surge worked everyone. Even if war was wrong, at this point, the surge was the right move. Other world leaders are going to walk all over Obama if he's the next president.

  • It worked because we got lucky and a lot of other outside events effected the outcome of the surge.

You can always look back on history and say "see I was right!" but it's different to look at it from the perspective of the present. Bill likes to talk about it whenever it benefits him. Barack is at least consistent in his views on things.

  • He made an ass of O'reilly, just as I knew he would.

When this farce of an interview was over, O'Reilly probably went to his 3X3 office at FAUX and said "damned, he made a fool of me."

For that matter, it's not hard to make an ass out of an asshole...which O'Reilly is!!

  • I agree. O'Reilly likes to bully his interviewees and guests. Obama did not let him bully him. When he tried to interrupt Obama made sure he got his point across. On the O'Reilly factor they tried to spin it to make it seem like Obama can't admit when he is wrong. He wasn't wrong to oppose the surge. The surge has reduced violence considerably but there is still no plan to withdraw troops and hand the responsibility to the Iraqis. We can't just saturate Iraq with troops and occupy indefinitely.

  • This is the real Straight Talk Express! When´s McCain`s chance?

  • lol McCain already went months ago, but nobody watched -- just like his speech last night.

  • diplomacy's should be the first resort not the last, you do not create peace with the head of a bomb. o'reilly is a tool.

  • O'Reilly is still an asshole, and try as he might, he still couldn't break O'bama.

He's no more a journalist than Captain Kangaroo!!

  • Spoken like a real president. If McCain was being drilled in an interview he would used that I'm a POW so I know best line. That's why he backed out of his interview on CNN this week. Guess he doesn't like the tough questions

  • Do you have your head so far up your ass that you think invasion of a Iran is on the table for the GOP? Nah...we don't attack countries that can actually fight back.

  • Since extremists consider this a war against Islam, other Muslims should take them out and be paid for it after the job is done. We should provide nothing more than aid and military advice.

  • No, you guys don't get it. The point is that second guessing Bush is not the point. What we want is to have an intelligent president who can make the right decisions as new situations come along. McSame will make the wrong decisions because he doesn't understand the 21st century. He is still living in the Cold War. Obama understands, is smart, and will make the right decisions. It's got nothing to do with kool aid or being starry eyed or anything. It's about the right guy for the job.

  • This video PROVES that it doesn't matter who's wins his election if the choice is between Obama & McCain... They are one in the same!!! We've been providing Pakistan with aid and he wants to give them more... Iraq is no where near controlled outside of the green zone... search "No End In Sight" right here on youtube... Neither one of these guys are bringing our troops home...

  • THe biggest shock in this whole video was that Bill O thinks himself journalist.

  • Unlike McCain, Obama didnt tip his hand or used bluster to intimidate. The surge wasnt the issue, the issue was opening our taxpayers wallets for the surge after more than a trillion dollars already invested in this senseless war. We are buying guns from American gun companies and sending them to Pakistan? We arm these governments to sell weapons and they use them against us. We need intelligence in the White House, not a war monger!

  • I'd love to know what the "surge" really means and what it involved. I have the feeling there was a lot of death and destruction behind it. But the word "surge" on its own means almost nothing.

  • All of you how believe that bill owned obama are fool and haters and it has nothing to do with politics. He wants obama to say yes i will attack Iran why you want war with a country that never attacked us we have to talk and think about war not just hit the red button. orielly wants war. the surge did not win the war the surge was to make iraq take over. Do you know how many iraq's died in the surge. Life is life. FUCK BILL O'RIELLY

  • bill has the balls to ask each of them the question's we as america wants to know. and he interrupts them because they try and walk around the questions. Obama isn't ready. he's not even close to being ready. the only thing wrong with this interview is Bill should've just simply said "come on..shit or get off the pot!"

  • You know what i dont understand. I've met people who felt strong that Obama will make a better president but because of there party and pride they are going to vote for Mccain instead. Unbelievable!!

  • Bravo Obama, Bill O can't listen

  • ha ha obama wont change a thing, who the fuk do america think they r thinkin they can police the world, the children they hav orphaned in iraq afghanistan, u think them kids lov u americans wen they fight bak u call them terrorist, its unnacceptable for ISRAEL 2 HAV NUCLEAR WEAPONS, AMERICANS R HYPOCRTIES, THEY WONT MENTION ISRAELS NUKES, IF U LOVED THE JEWS SO MUCH WHY DONT U GIVE THEM 1 OF UR BULLSHIT STATES.

  • learn to spell and maybe someone will read what you have to say

  • We have, it's called "Flordia".

  • So he wants to take troops out of Iraq and then send extra troops to pakistan. what happened to the troops coming home?

  • Wow Obama On O'Reilly he went to a republican network.. if you do not think obama is ready just from this interview, Ask your self Why Did John McCain cancel Larry king.

If McCain Had some question about his stance on things he would've Lost his wig and the election.

I cant wait till the debates

  • Letterman said it best to OReilly, there are no simple answers for those who are thoughtful.

  • Bill is not as racist as Shawn Hannity(whom I hate). Bill is rude he won't let him answer the questions, he keeps cutting him off.

  • Oh by the way O'Reilly is such an assh**e! if i ever saw him in the street, he would get such a beatdown! he is a smartass!!

  • OBAMA RULES! VOTE OBAMA , he will fight for the u.s.a.!.........McCain= OLD FART with a NAG FOR A v.p....no way noo how no McCain!

  • Great job Obama!

  • democracy become a popularity contest. What a joke

  • He said the surge worked.

  • McCain's speech = pathetic. O'reilly never served USA in uniform (dodged service in Vietnam) so he will always be an arsehole,Obama deserves a chance because there is really no other alternative

  • Bill O'Reilly sure likes to hear himself talk, I would like to see a war of words in a 1-on-1 interview with Joe Biden!

  • McCain would nuke them! i say no pow any more just nuke and leave.12 billion dollars a month jezz... we could use that shit over here ! 30 cents a day saves a child ! 12 billion a month save a country> 2 nukes priceless.

  • He and Sarah will be diving for the red button,t hey love wars, they are sick. That's their answer to every thing.

  • Yeah, because nuking one of the world´s major oil sources will have no negative repercussions whatsoever. Why does youtube not support a roll-eyes-smiley? I´d need like a couple dozen right here.

  • God I hope Americans try to knock some sense into their minds and vote for this guy. Hes concerned about foreign policy but more so on the domestic front where we actually need stability. McCain is a military man Pow this pow that who doenst have an honest approach on what he can give to the country. Im sick of his attempt to inflict more fear about war on terror. If Bush wasnt such an intellectual failure, the world would be in a different state.

  • wow... o'whiny was impressed dont yall think, all that barking and no bites, got even him impressed at obama... his mother and or grandmother did a great job on that man, how can we not vote for obama, he's respectfull even when he's being disrespected by o'whiny through out the 1st half... i want somebody like that representing me around the world and at home. im voting for obama when im awake and in my sleep comes november! i beseech you guys to keep an open eye on both parties before voting..

  • obama is the man. plain and simple. compare that to mccain who can't give intelligent answers. anyone who votes for mccain is a terrorist

  • Although many may harp on O' Reilly, I feel that he did an excellent job at proving that Barak Obama has a very level head and can work through a discussion without someone even if they are hostile towards him. I was amazed by Obama's knowledge on the events, positive and negative, that have happened in the Middle East (Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan) and the details I had never heard mentioned before. This solidifies my vote even further. It showed courage to take Bill on in his court.

  • Obama is very intelligent. Bill looked like a dog backed into a corner.

    Faux News stays taking losses.

  • O'Reilly is extremely rude.

  • Not only is O'Reilly extremely rude, he's also a major asshole.

  • if you can please post the rest of this.

  • when I was there we had the plans and orders to create a U.S. embassy/base in Iraq because we were going to maintain a "presence" in Iraq. Remember Bush was against setting timelines of withdrawl. Its funny that as we get closer to election, bush is now willing to set time tables. But hey since there are no WMD, I dont care what it takes get our people home safe.

  • O'Reilly is such a disrespectful dick. Let the man answer the questions. It's amazing how mature and how patient Obama is with this idiot. Why do they keep focused on the surge? It's over. Get the troops out and get on with it. Why are we still there wasting our tax money and pissing off more Iraqies? Geesuz, these cons are stupid.

  • thank you so much for posting this. I was sooo mad that I missed it on TV.

  • Okay folks, imagine Sarah Palin answering these same questions. That's a pretty scary thought isn't it.

  • this is such a stupid statement...the surge's main purpose was to give the Iraqi gov't a chance to get their s**t together. By that definition, it failed. And, what did the soldiers who died before the surge die for, if the surge is all you're gonna discuss, as if no one told the Bush admin that more boots on the ground were needed from the start of the occupation? And the surge has been the only military ops in Iraq?

  • O'Reilly is a rude clown.

  • I like Barack's style, he is having a conversation with O'reily, he is not campaigning, he is being 100% honest. The media and a lot of people failed to see this about Obama during the forum at that church (forgot the name, the guy who wrote purpose driven life). Obama engages in a conversation while McCain just repeats whatever he's been told to say, like campaigning 24/7.

  • Obama is, above all else, a gentleman. O'Reilly is a pugilist and he's used to getting his way by shouting over the people he "interviews."

    Very interesting so far....

  • wow Oreilly was pretty restrained here. Pretty good interview. Obama really stepped up as usual.

  • the surge was a band-aid. Watch what happens when we're gone. Was there more to this clip?

  • you are probably right. Remember the whole history of that region has been of conflict with one group rising to power and overthrowing the other. Nothing is going to change that ideology so we need to keep our loved ones out of the way. Expecially since there is no WMD

  • Wow...Obama has proven to be a true leader. He really shut O'Reilly to the bone with easy handsome tone. I'm changing to Obama now.

  • bama rox

  • very well done! he is to smart for oreilly.

  • woooow Barack just got my vote!

  • O'Reilly was somewhat restrained (although there are still two other segments)-Part of Obama's qualification as president is his ability to keep the dialog civil and focused, in spite of the O'Reilly strategy of interruption, attitude and shout down. Advantage - Obama

  • I think he handled that well, Considering he was being interviewed by a spokesman for the bush administration.....
