This looks rough but I've heard Texas DPS (state troopers) is the hardest and toughest academy in the country. Of course, I don't think any academy is a cake walk!
I graduated police academy #101 in Broward County, Fl. 27 years ago and it was absolutly nothing like this. Three months of basic instruction and then thrown to the wolves. Nice to see some real training being done. I made it though, 26 year career come and gone and now I sit back and collect a check each month. Its nice to be retired at 48 years old.
@pass558 it doesnt matter. drills, or marching is a form of high disciple training and order. in order to obey commands and execute them one most work as a team. you can see this all the way back to the days of the Roman Empire. so army or not. its very important exercise.
@pass558 yOU KNOW THAT LVMPD HAS THE LESS POICE DEATHS IN THE NATION. ALSO IF YOU WATCH THIER VIDS AND THE SHOW COPS WHEN THERE IN lv, LVMPD ALWAYS HAS THE UPPER HAND AND MORE CONTROL ON THE CRINIMALS SO FAIL ON YOUR PART.
@mustangdrew I doubt it, they probably have them keep an empty magazine in the firearm to get them used to the motions. If that's the case the seems like a smart idea.
