One time I was about to beat 150cc perfectly (I was in 1st place in all races) and the final round comes, I do good. Right at the finish line on the last lap, I get hit by a red shell, a blue shell, then another few red shells and I get in last place. Wow. Talk about fails. In my opinion, you could be the best player in MKWii and yet fails can still happen, it's like the game decides who will win and who will lose.

about 4 times last night i had a huge lead but was hit by a red shell then right after got hit by a blue shell when i was over a gap after i had hit a jump which resulted in me falling in the water or lava and coming in 3rd or 4th place. so frustrating lol.

To be fair, less than half of the things that happen here aren't a result of poor playing. But yeah, trying to go for more than a star in the 1 player races is basically just gambling that you have to actually try at, making it more frustrating when you're arbitrarily robbed of it at the end.
