It's amazing how many songs from the 80's have been covered by more modern bands with no ideas. It's also amazing how many kids hear them and don't know they're covers and when they find out the songs are covers decide they like the covers better because they heard them first. I was a dumb kid once and bands covered old bands songs then, too. Still, I always seemed to manage to find the original version and appreciated it for what it was and eventually decided the original was better. Oh well.

@mattymath1 If you're referencing System Of A Down's cover of The Metro, I'll have to raise the point that they were an incredibly inventive and innovative band.

Far from having "no ideas", they blew the metal scene wide open with their playing and lyrics. Not all bands that do cover versions do so because of a lack of original talent.

OK, now, some of the "Casio" keyboard riffs, and other passages later in the tune, are definitely NOT from the original. People, I REMEMBER, *distinctly*. This isn't the first song from this era with which I noticed this on YouTube, so what's the deal? Are people remixing these, and changing *just* enough of the tune itself, to (hopefully) bypass copyright issues? I mean, I'm glad people are posting these, but they are NOT THE ORIGINALS. The way to know for sure is when the "explosion" sounds and the digital video enhancement kick in, they cover up the VH1 logo, which would not occur any other way. Not a terrible job done, though - they didn't destroy the song. It's a decent remix/video enhancement.
