How can you dis the brakes man? Leacy was the real DJ for the b-boys. I don't understand what these guys are really trying to say. Music as whole? Hip hop started with the brakes. What do you mean b-boys are actually dancing now? B-boys weren't dancing back in the day? So RSC wasn't dancing back in the day. Not really digging this
I have to agree with you, man. Leacy was also incredibly humble, even though he knew nobody could touch him. But there's a big difference between him and Skeme. European DJ's, especially from the UK; like Leacy, his brother Aiden, Skye And Nucleus.
From a B-Boy/DJ perspective that is; Forrest Gump, Lean Rock, Timber etc. a lot of DJ's are killin' it these days and most of them are down with several B-Boy squads, 'cause they were B-Boyin' before they started DJ'ing . Thank God for diversity, I mean; the duo is gettin' a little picky on certain subjects, but they are serious about it.
he still carries records, but everything was of him rockin the serato. maybe just as a back up? i used to bring a bag full of records in case my computer crashed. i got respect for him as a dj too, but i don't like the attitude that he's the only one keeping it "real" maybe this is an older documentary too :shrugs:
@majchk1 your comparing a video made two years ago before everyone started doing the W thing Ynot is talking about... everyone started doing the W roughly in late 08.
I am stoked on that this video shows and celebrates the idea that you are a individual first and foremost when we enter this world, that being said ...Hip Hop is about all the arts, Graffiti (sight) DJ or rap (sound) breaking (physical movement) this shows that it makes sense that any human would want to experience all the senses ! Dont let wallmart mentality control you be a individual, dont be a "Hip Hop"
stereotype there isnt a uniform...get up stand up stand up for your rights @! rocksteady
That was dope, man. I mean you gotta respect YNOT and Skeme for their dedication and you can see their heart is really in it. At the same time, peace and respect to the originals and the founders, hopefully watching this it would get people more interested in the history of the music and the dance. Nice video
