This game has been on the side of my eye for a while, so i have a few questions...

-How long do i need to play to start using in-game money to pay for the monthly subscription?Will it affect me alot, if i use alot of money on it?

-IS it really that player driven, that a clan can controle big areas? Like companies or something?

-Is there a good player community? Can you talk with players inside the capatains quarters?

-Is it possible for even me to get into big nusiness ingame?

Depends on your own cunning, id say an absolute minimum of 2 weeks with a preset businessplan. You'd probably take 1 or 2 months exploring the game itself before even becomming aware how the iskmaking really work on that scale.

About 50-ish clans now controll ( and big scale fight over) area's one solar system to hundreds of solar systems big. these have thousands of players (bigges bout 6k). and full scale warfare can bring fights to a record of 3000 ppl participating in one fight.

@SharrkyX Yes, good community though you cant (yet) meet echother in stations, ccp has announced working on public area's, you have corporations wich really are the clans of eve in wow terms, and alliances of corporations are verry common, around 300 active people on avarage. and then there are coalitions of alliance.. you know where im going..

-If u have a good Guild/Clan,maybe in just 5-6 months you can start and pay your monthly subscription(rate of loting every month)

-Yes,its true,u can controle areas,like small maps(cosidering the jumps gates)

-The player community its good,if you are humble to,and u have the chat in capatains quarters.(lots of spyes also,be careful)

-Yes,in time,maybe 1 year u allready can make big businesses if u pay atencion(tons of Isks).

I have been playing Eve since retail in the UK, that makes it roughly 8.5 years. If you find Eve boring, thats fine - go play COD, it was made for you. Eve is on an entirely different level.

people get scared by monthly fee games, but personally i find other games more expensive for a worse gaming experience.

let's say i pay 30 euro/month for eve online, a game in which i can become really good with just my own skills if i want, people spend 70 € / month on that "new damn good console game" and do play for less than a month, because after it just get boring to play such games, still when i tell my friends that i pay 30€/month for just 1 game they look strange at me... whatever.

@Masferin not to mention games with MT, those sells A LOT and people do play thinking it is free, hey wake up, it is free only if you stay down on your basic level and will never have a chance to become good as long as you don't spend more than what a normal monthly fee game ask you.

I'm a bit sad that dust 514 will be MT based, but i understand ccp's view on that: they will have much more income.

@GUN4125 Yes, but it will take you a few year to get there.

@GUN4125 Of course, cause every skill tops out at 5. As soon as you hit 5 in any one skill you are now equal to every older player that already trained it. The rest of it is on your shoulders, which skills to train first, in what order, how well you make your ISK, and how well you can learn the game mechanics to your advantage.

@tymaxie2 since in eve online, the market is player controlled, the prices change all the time. People who sell PLEX (item that when activated increases subscription 1 month) and people who buy with in game currency (ISK).

Its current price is around 450 mil ISK .... but dont let that scare you ... For instance, i make around a billion in 2 weeks.

@davelantor Well Time dilation is better then lag. Lag can cause you to disconnect and lose your precious ship, but time dilation will just slow things down with out a disconnect.

But that requires being quite rich in EVE (which, actually, is not very hard to do after like a month or two of playing)
