I loved this as a kid, i was like 8 years old when i played this for the first time, first point and click i ever played, didn't think it was sierra! I thought it was some freeware shit XD
This is one my all-time favorite Sierra game Freddy Pharkas: Frontier Pharmacist. I still don't understand why Freddy became the pharmacist he was and then was turned down by the sheriff of the town.
Thanks for posting this. I loved this game. Although I miss not being able to hear the voices. I always liked Cam Clarke's voice acting. Plus this game taught me how to make drugs! :P
The only problem with this game is the credits showing up in the middle of the gameplay! Slows it down too. Would it kill the creators to put their end credits in the ending instead of the middle the gameplay. It's stupid!
I still have the orginal pc game box in my atic. This game was soooo great. I never did finish it, I didnt get very far at all thinking back on it, I think I will play it through instead of watching you. and use this if I need it for referrernce. I will post here where you can dl the game afer i fint it... lolz
They fired most of the employees in there, including Al Lowe (the creator of this game, Leisure Suit Larry till the 7th one, and other great point and click games at the time).
But still, the company runs under the name Sierra developing more games so far.
And all together: Pharkaaaas, Freddy Pharkaaas... I love this game! It's so underrated, imo. The copy protection (mixing medicine) is horrendous, no doubt, but even still it has some interesting puzzles and it's pretty atmospheric. Oh, and Lowe and Hodges comoposed several brilliant pieces for this one.
I love those kind of games with just one click. They are awesome. Reminds me playing Indiana Jones: The Fate of Atlantis or other games like Monkey Islands series. The good old-school games.
What? How can I have missed this game!?! Looks awesome!

FFL2and3rocks this is a great game and all. But it would be nice if you turned the text all the way down so you can be able to read it.
atrainroberts 1 year ago
@atrainroberts Then other people would say the text isn't going fast enough. Can't please everyone.

you REALLY should change your sounddriver to general midi, because otherwise the music sounds like crap.
FischKopfD 2 years ago
I prefer this music over the general midi.

This is the first computer game I purchased with my own hard-earned cash (from chores). I was about 6 years old at the time. Great game.

That's two Sierra characters who did well on their SATs.
Although the other one got lucky...
edusuntrebor 2 years ago
I'm guessing that the other was Roger Wilco? Because he didn't really "get lucky," he just cheated.

Yeah, install it from DosBox and set up the music and audio options, then it will have sound when you play it in DosBox.

BTW, the CDROM version has voiceover speech for all characters. Do that one if you can!!! :P

I've tried, I couldn't get it to work. I managed to get it to run in Dosbox without music, and now it won't run at all.

FFL2and3rocks, I decided to follow that series, precisely because I realized you were doing commentary.
