In the opening scene of Ted's 1st day as a prof there is a blonde with her style hair between two black guys... maybe I just really want it to be her but that's what I've seen.... and I haven't seen beyond season 4
to be honest, i doubt the producers have even created an actual mother for Ted's kids seeing as though that the show isn't exactly based on finding Ted's wife but more the actual idea of the sitcom - complication arises and characters resolve. Maybe eventually the producers will find a wife for Ted for when the show ends but not right now, HIMYM is at its peak of popularity and would probably go on for several seasons more.

@jackfreestone1 The show is based on the journey and growth of the characters leading up until he meets his wife. They have time. But, not a lot. The show has Ted talking to his kids in 2030, assuming his kids are 14 at the very youngest in these scenes that would make them born in 2016, meaning the wife has to be introduced by 2015 (no way is she a random hook up) and so.... 2.5 more seasons is all they have to work with before she has to be introduced for the show to make sense

I don't know what to think about this theory. Sure, that moment was kinda off place and all, but if you compare the mother who enters the club with her yellow umbrella with that woman Ted bumped into, you will notice that they wear different kind of jeans. So either the staff is inconsistent about clothing, or that's not her at all. She also looks a bit too old, in my opinion.

Minor issue, the reason Ted seeing Stella was important is because she got him the job at the university and thats how he met Cindy his future wife's room mate so I think that's why meeting stella was important not that Stella introduced them.
Hello. I remember in one of the episodes Ted goes out with a girl and comes to her apartment where he picks out three things in her bedroom that he loves and belongs to his girlfriends room mate. It's a good theory, but I don't think Stella has any more significance to Ted meeting his future wife than the encounter on the street when Ted has the yellow umbrella. "Future Ted" explains to his kids in the final scene of the season 4 finale, while they're all taking a leap from the roof across the alley. If he hadn't met Stella on that street, he would never have fixed her relationship with Tony. Tony wouldn't have gotten him the prof job. And that eventually leads him to meet their mom.

- the reason the meeting with stella resulted in meeting the mother, is because Ted became a teacher, and "the mother" was a student (in the episode where ted screws up, and goes in to the wrong classrom)

Rember the episode when barney is wiht his real dad in the bar and his dad starts to brang about his new family that goes like " This is my wife, Carol, My sone, JJ, MY DAUGHTER CARLY SHE IS IN COLLEGE NOW" Maybe this is the same "Carly" who was at the saint pattys bar. I don't know what to think about this theory. Sure, that moment was kinda off place and all, but if you compare the mother who enters the club with her yellow umbrella with that woman Ted bumped into, you will notice that they wear different kind of jeans. So either the staff is inconsistent about clothing, or that's not her at all. She also looks a bit too old, in my opinion.

Hello. I remember in one of the episodes Ted goes out with a girl and comes to her apartment where he picks out three things in her bedroom that he loves and belongs to his girlfriends room mate. And then at the end of the episode he says to his kids that girls room mate is your mother. (Sorry if the way I put it is hard to understand.) But I dont know what episode it is :(. It's a good theory, but I don't think Stella has any more significance to Ted meeting his future wife than the encounter on the street when Ted has the yellow umbrella. "Future Ted" explains to his kids in the final scene of the season 4 finale, while they're all taking a leap from the roof across the alley. If he hadn't met Stella on that street, he would never have fixed her relationship with Tony. Tony wouldn't have gotten him the prof job. And that eventually leads him to meet their mom.

I think it's possible, but I suspect its a red herring to throw the viewers off. Or maybe the mother was a girl in the background of that bump scene, or the bumped girl was a friend of the mother's, or something. I dunno, it seems a bit too obvious.
