Thats not their truck. The truck from the Beverly Hillbilles was a old 20 something oldsmobile that was made into a truck. The one and only original is in a museum in Branson. That dont even look like it. That looks like a old T or A ton truck.

@mdhobson The Beverly Hillbillies truck is a 1928 Oldsmobile, and is in the Ralph Foster Museum at the College of the Ozarks near Branson, MO. Paul Henning drove it around campus before they parked it inside the museum. I know....because it was part of my duty to clean the truck as I worked there.
chipguy69 is correct...this 1921 oldsmobile was found behind a Fontana, Ca feedstore. The faded sign on the side still advertises Fontana Feed to this day!
Today is 07-28-08. I personally with my family sat in the original Hillbillies car Yesterday in The Ralph Foster Museum in the Ozarks. I highly recommend going to the museum if your around Branson. Its just a few miles south of Branson on Hwy 65, you cant miss it. The admission was only 9.00 for the whole family. They have a three story show and it has one of the biggest gun collections in the country there! Go there and ENJOY!
LadyDragonsblood is correct. The authentic Beverly Hillbillies truck has be on display at the Ralph Foster Museum on the campus of College of the Ozarks at Point Lookout, Missouri (near Branson) since the 1970's. The vehicle was converted to a flat bed from a 1921 Oldsmobile touring car. Before the television series began, George Barris found the truck rusting away behind a feed store in Fontana, California.
I don't know where you got the information on the "car", but it was an original Oldsmobile truck acquired from M.L. Foley in North Hollywood, CA, my grandfather. It is the same truck as is in Missouri. Oldsmobile made these trucks and they were indeed used by people to pack all of their belongs to move from place to place during the depression.
Actual Quote from George Barris...The Beverly Hillbillies was very popular. It was the longest show we had on t.v. and to find any car from the Ozarks in Southern California was kinda hard and I was driving down the 10 freeway and I go by a little town, Fontana in the San Bernadino area, and there was a feed store and this old car was whacked in half and was sitting there, a 1922 Oldsmobile, and I took pictures of that and I run back to the studio and I said, 'Hey guys, lets make this.
@BornInAmerica That's the true story. The Olds was donated to the Foster Museum by Paul Henning, creator of the series. Henning and his wife also donated a huge tract of land northwest of Branson with the provision that it remain a nature preserve in perpetuity.
This NOT the original car, this a pre-1914 Model T ford with 1917 or later front fenders. The original car used in the show was a 1920 Oldsmobile touring car with the rear section of the touring body cut off and turned into a pickup truck.
Yeah I doubt this is the original car used in the show. It's probably a replica. However it is an antique car. I keep forgetting to ask about the origins of this thing.
The Origional Beverly Hillbillies truck is on display at the Museum at the College of the Ozarks in PointLookout (Branson) Missouri. It was donated years ago to the school by the Henning family, who fell in love with the Ozarks area, while filming episodes of the Beverly Hillbillies at Silver Dollar City. I know this is FACT. I have seen the old truck many times in the lobby of the museum with the history that goes along with it.
What's the story behind this? Where was it shot, and do you know for a fact if that was THE Beverly Hillbillie's car? (actually it was an Oldsmobile truck) Curious as hell! :-)
Barris said it was a 1920 Buick......and the original is at his Museum.......

This is a direct quote from the Museum Home Page (I like to back my facts)
The primary focus of the Ralph Foster Museum today is to collect, preserve,
interpret and exhibit items relating to the Ozarks region. One of the more famous
exhibits is the original vehicle used in the television series "The Beverly Hillbillies".
In addition, visitors will find antiques, weapons, dolls, natural history and other items from around the world.

I find it most odd that the original BH truck ended up in Miami! Would love to hear the backstory.

The truck belongs to our landlord. He brought it over to our Miami Gardens location to show off. I can ask him about it later.
