  • rory where are you now ? i hope you are still playing the organ you have agreat talent

  • Rory, I hope I have the distinct pleasure of hearing you play at are 20. You have an amazing talent. I wish you well in a most promising future.

  • Great! Keep it up!!! :)

  • Wonderful. Keep up your studies, you will go far.

  • Your lucky i play organ, BUT I DON'T GET TO DO THAT,WOW!

  • I was 8 years old when I started.. I am now 54 and still going strong!!! I'm a church organist, and usually play concerts. I love the pipe organ as it's one of my favorite instruments! :)

  • Wow!

  • You are wonderful ! Who is the builder of this organ again ??

  • I think it's Rosales.

  • @codeman2008 / it is

  • Naja, wenn ihm noch jemand was übers registrieren beibringt, wird doch mal was aus ihm!

  • @polsterj Richtig. Etwas zu penetrant einregistriert.

  • I know adult musicians who can't even begin to come close to this performance of such a young, budding musician. Spectacular!!

  • I am so impressed. I played organ from age 7-13 and I was maybe almost this good at 10. Stick with it and have joy in your music! Giving it up (30 years ago) was one of the dumbest things I ever did.

  • Why not go back?

  • Ah heck. Sold my home theatre organ a few years ago, as I never touched it as my schedule is so full. Plus frankly I'd be embarrassed to practice in a church or what have you now at my current skill level. Now I just enjoy the playing of others!

  • Hey thank you churchwhistles, for the encouragement! smiles

  • how did he get to play there?

  • I searched the term, "Priere a Notre-Dame", and your version came up. Having listened to just about all the others out there from all over the world and on a variety of organs, I am happy to say I really do believe yours is the best.

  • The stops are not that Boelmann write.

The original registration is: Swell: Gamba et voix celéste and Great Flute 8'accouplé au récit. Pedal stops ok.

    Interpretation in very ok.

  • I apologize to the youtube community for the removal of my two other videos. I will try to post more videos to make up for the missing ones.

  • No problem. They were well done, as is the one you still have posted. Priere a Notre-Dame is one of the favorites of my congregation that I use for a prelude. You play it beautifully, and with that organ it sounds fantastic. Have you played any of the other movements from Suite Gothique?

  • Thanks, I play the Minuet and the Toccata, too.

  • Both are fun pieces to play. You have definite skills for someone your age - or any, to play the Toccata. I love playing it. The Minuet is probably one of the most fun pieces to play. It makes a great postlude for church. Have you tackled the opening movement yet?

I sure hope you are considering a career as an organist. Our field needs young talent, and from what I've heard - you have that talent to be exceptional and distinguished. Keep up the study and the performing.

  • im playing those pieces too! Yet im 12 (a bit older than you probably?).

    Please post them!

Have you tried the toccata by widor? i really enjoyed learning it!

  • No problem...I expect more videos yours here...

  • Hi!

Superb - thanks - well handled although perhaps the registration is a little strident.

Why did you have to remove videos?

    Shame!

  • Hey Rory, great job, mate. Keep up the good work!

  • The trompette on this organ is amazing.

  • Rory,

You are very talented. All I can say is "Wow". Please, please, never stop playing. You have the makings of the next great concert organist. I sure hope that is your dream and passion. Keep sharing your videos and talent.

  • It seems the US have beautiful organs ! Here in France there are some amzing ones.

Boelmann is a fantastic composer, and he's very well played by a so young boy :-)

  • hey pianorgano i've seen your handel presto in f and I thought it was mazing.

  • DEBEN BECAR A ESTE NIÑO YA MISMO...

  • Incrediable young person doing so great. I hope he keeps up with the organ playing he is an example for young people to try to play the organ as hugh as it is. I have to give a hand to his playing without music.

  • W.A. Mozart played the organ at Grote Kerk when he was 10 yeard old. It was, for the 18th century, very large, 3 manuals and over60 stops.

  • The Disney organ is my baby!

Though, I have had the pleasure of playing the Kimmel Center Organ in Philly to favorable responses, and live just a mile from it, the Disney Rosales/Glotter Gotz is my favorite because of tonal disposition and design

  • Excellent work, young man. 10 years from now, you will listen to this though, and blush at the registrations! - Have your teacher start teaching you about what is proper for the pieces you play. Keep up the good work, and go for it!

  • Young man, please ignore comments from people like musicalwatch who tend to listen too closely to "what their teacher told them" If you have good musical insticts, let these guide you and the world may beat a path to your door.

  • @fthiggins - Actually, teaching someone this talented, at a young age, to listen to what the composer wished in their composition is an important part of their musical upbringing. Especially with french lit and registration in organ music! There are great merits in not simply praising any accomplishment, but offering the necessary constructive criticism to learn.

  • Great job Rory - thanks for sharing your talent and gift of organ-playing!

  • This is astonishing! With a talent like this, you're ready for Carnegie Hall!

  • Excellent! Thank you for sharing this.

  • Nice job Rory! Hope more kids will take up the organ which could use players of young blood like you to replace us who are dying out.

  • Good luck even finding an organ 10-20 years from now!

  • @BayAreaBiker2001 - don't you believe it! Many churches are doing well and the organ is increasingly being used outside of church - not just in classical concerts, but in other contexts. I notice that both Lady Gaga and the Foo Fighters have made use of large organs in old Town Halls lately (LG at Sydney TH, on its 1890 Hill, a stupendous five-manual tracker instrument, FFs at Auckland TH, NZ with its Norman & Beard/Klais 4m), to name but two.

  • 10 years old? On the Disney organ? Perfect! Lovely playing and talented :)
