Years ago I moved to Las Vegas because of the recession in California. Now look at Las Vegas, we were the worst hit and will probably be the last to recover. To be honest, I regret ever moving to Las Vegas. It sucks here.
2 minute drive = 10 minute walk... Walking (with your feet, both of them) is better for your health and will help you spend the calories of the fat burger you're gonna eat eat there :oP

The problem is that it's TOO affordable. South Orange County is full of nice neighborhoods, and Aliso Viejo is full of average houses and apartments. You feel like a poor person living among the wealthy. While you are living in an average city, other people are living it up in places like Dana Point and Newport Beach. When someone asks me where I live, I feel like it is a taboo topic. You ask around Orange County, and NOBODY lives here. It's a boring city, too. Luckily, I'm gonna move soon.
Pray tell, did you get your money's worth? Not in this city you don't...the real estate prices are so damn inflated here. My house is worth about that much in money, but it isn't even that good and it has a microscopic yard. In Texas you can get a mansion on an acre for half that price, and you get to be in a better place too. I'm moving this summer.
You want to talk about small yards. I am a homeowner here in Las Vegas and their is no yard. You are so close to your neighbors, if you sneezed in your own house, they would hear it. But you can get a house here for cheap, you just wont get any land with it.

Aliso Viejo is awesome, i'm blessed to live here. the town center is about a 2 minute drive from my house, it's sweet.
