Oculus underwater flat lens for GoPro Hero HD | Video comparison

I have a gopro hero 2 and I use it for diving , my first video was blurry with the original lens, with the flat one and the red filter lke day and night

yep all my holidays underwater photos were wasted using the gopro. soo not sure what the deal is with the "its marketing" comments. "its marketing" is the official video from gopro which shows clear images under water. our under water shots looked awful. we were sailing and all the normal shots looked great.

Recently did an aquarium shoot with two GoPros, and discovered the hard way the body is certainly waterproof, but the curved lens creates miserable underwater results. It's NOT just "marketing." This hurdle for the GoPro is well-documented. There are several fixes out there, from homemade to companies like BlurFix and Eye of Mine. But I think we'll go with the Oculus first, simply based on price. I will be buying a second GoPro camera housing to outfit this way, specifically for use underwater.

@djedamrazuk before you make these accusations i suggest you go out and buy a Gopro and try it underwater for yourself. But if you are on the cheap open your eyes underwater the next time you're in a pool and let us all know how clearly you see. The domed lens on the Gopro has the same effect as the human eye. How's that fact for you marketing man?

they intentionally made video on the left blurred so their product looks so much better. it's just marketing. trust me, i work in marketing.

It's funny.... If you look at the beginning of the video you will see that the camera on the right has the original gorpo lens!

Shock horror! I thought that the guy at 1:51 had nothing on at first!

Recovering from this, the curved lens seems to be out of focus as a whole. I have a standard lens GoPro Hero and did some underwater work on a pole. The focus on my footage was a lot sharper! I think maybe you have a lens focus issue and it'll need tweaking.
