@inFinnish OK (but just because you mentioned it in the "Idioms"-lesson): it's an onomatopoetic word, association with 'perse' /Oh, what do I teach to the people here...I manage to get onto hell/
@Ninja5guy hmm, I don't quite know what my eerie relationship to my mother has to do with this, after all, what happens between closed doors should stay between closed doors, right?. Btw, isn't it spelled panija, not painia? I think the more politically correct word would be muniansa nuoleskeleva sisäsiittoinen huoranpenikkahomonvihaajafasistijunttipaskakökkäle
@toksiini How similar is Finnish to Estonian, Votic, Karelian, Ingrian, Livonian, and Veps languages? Do speakers of these languages understand one another?
@drinndrann How similar is Finnish to Estonian, Votic, Karelian, Ingrian, Livonian, and Veps languages? Do speakers of these languages understand one another?
-Finnish & Estonian: Finns can only understand a few words of Estonian here and there. Finns also misunderstand a lot of words in Estonian that are similar to Finnish words, but have different meanings. I have however browsed an Estonian language book for an hour once and the grammar does not seem that foreign to my Finnish eyes, suffixes of words for example seem similar enough.
@anarmehtievful Yes, for example Estonians in Tallinn get Finnish TV signal and learn to understand Finnish TV. Yet most Estonians don't understand Finnish much. It's not something that easy, but certainly it's easier for a Finn to learn Estonian than Russian.
@LebowskiDudeful How about the similaities among Finnish, Karelian, Estonian, Sami, Votic, Veps, Ingrian, and Livonian languages! do any of these languages understand or have high mutual intelligibilty with any of these languages.
@presby100 Hehey, I just checked out Fisher Road in Dexter, Maine, and heck, I could have believed that was Finland based on the imagery provided by google street view. On the other hand, everything is a bit different, I do think even the trees in the forest don't look exactly alike, but yeah, if I'd have to choose a state closest to Finland, Maine is a good one
@t0g3th3r I'm born as monolingual Finn, never even visited an English speaking country. My pronunciation ain't perfect, but i know a Finn who has learned a British accent so well that he can fool any Brit
@LebowskiDudeful How similar is Finnish to Estonian, Votic, Karelian, Ingrian, Livonian, and Veps languages? Do speakers of these languages understand one another?
@t0g3th3r Im have lived in Finland for a year now (came over from Aus) and was amazed at the English skills of the Finns. I have no trouble in Finland with the English language, they are brilliant.
While this is amusing I started to feel nausea while whatching. And no, it has nothing to do with the content of this video, but with the fact that the screen trembled whole time.
true, take "muniansa nuoleskeleva sisäsiittoinen huoranpenikkahomonvihaajafasistijunttipaskakökkäle" for e.g.. It's actually not a long word, since it translates as several words in English, in Finnish we just like to write it all without spaces to accentuate the fact that these words are all inseparable in meaning when referring to this particular person, quod est demonstratum. It translates as "regularly his own dick licking inbred son of a bitch fasist gay hater red neck piece of shit"
which sounds the same as poo in English. Anyways, the funny part is that when u go to your regular KKK store and buy toilet paper, the paper has a picture of a tree on it (to show how environmentally friendly it is, cause it only requires one tree to wipe your lard ass)
actually the word pupu has rather short "poo" part in it, puu sounds like "poo", pu is too short. But if you just say "poo" twice, a Finn knows what u're talking about.
That was for @aatu82
