you people need to learn how to analyze things from an ambiguous perspective. He's not talking about utah or the bible, he's talking about the rock and roll myth of the open road as an escape from pain or boredom (listen to thunder road by springsteen or you don't know how it feels by tom petty if you're still confused).

moab is obviously important because its out west, where these fantasies (rt. 66) took place, its status as a bible story just adds resonance to its mythological importance.

i'm in agreeance with DerowEgen. I'm not sure if it's the fact he seems to have learnt to sing, or the music itself isn't as edgy. Lyrics are still good but the packaging of them is important. I did think that Cassadaga was pretty poor though too.
