  • キーボードの音が80年代っぽいよね^^

  • One give away that it is 1985 is that JT is using the quasi-headless aria pro and he is at his prime cocaine weight of two feather pillows and a satin long coat.

  • This "Reflex" is the best one of all they have ever played Reflex.

  • From Live Aid? So sad.... Andy Taylor wrote about this in his Bio.... they were barely speaking and woefully under-rehearsed. I LOVE this band. But damn. What key were EACH of them running along with???? Poor Simon was on track with the recorded key, but I dont know what the hell the rest were doing.

  • tons of wet vag in that place.

  • T T T T THE R R REFLEX REFLEX

  • It is like having my MTV back again but ,I get to pick the sounds!!!!LOVING IT!!!

  • Gay? I think not. Simon, Andy, and John have all been very happily married to their wives for a number of years and all of them have children.

  • I sooooo love John and Simon. Thanks for posting this!!

  • is he wearing a wig?

  • Nick Rhodes' keyboard-play is fake (not live) here. Actually he can't really play keyboard, he is just a very good programmer for automatic played akkord-lines.

And he is a good songwriter.

Kajagoogoo for example are way better live.

  • DURAN DURAN 23 июня 2011 в ЛЕДОВОМ ДВОРЦЕ!!!

Британские романтики поп-рока представят свой новый альбом “All you need is now” в Петербурге в рамках мирового тура. Их музыка не знает границ, возраста и вкусов. Их хиты слышал каждый, но увидит их только тот, кто придет на концерт Дюран Дюран в Ледовом!

  • the name should have stated live

  • I like this song here now!

  • Great Song, not sure if this one stood the test of time like some of their other songs.

Not only were their albums great, Duran Duran have a collection of B-sides and "unreleased" material that rivals Springsteen. Check out my Homemade videos for Duran Duran's "Virus" & "Salt in the Rainbow" on my channel.

  • The James Bond thene is A View to A Kill

  • John's hair, LMFAO!

  • Boy they really put out alot of great music. Incredible.

  • nothing compares with the 80's music. I am just so proud to know that there is nothing that comes close to the glorious years of d new wave.

  • DURAN DURAN/The Reflex

    少々、音のバランスが悪いけど、タダのアイドルバンドでは、ありません…。

  • I know I may sound old, but the music today just does not compare to The 80's New Wave, especially Duran Duran... I wish I was more apart of it back then, minus all the debauchery. Rio, has the best bass line in it; The Reflex, I think was just the biggest thing to us 5th graders, plus we wanted to be like the 'older' middle-schoolers.

  • Ahhhh, there's nothing like those talented 80's HUNKS!!!!!

  • Totally awesome Duran Duran!!

  • c'est du très haut niveau

  • Corinne mon petit coeur,je t'ai aimé sur cette chanson

  • 好きだなぁ

  • I'm in Ireland, suffering from global freezing, is there a currently singleton Duranie you can send over to keep me warm?

  • Simon, you little son of a bitch, there are MANY times you just remind me of Elvis effin' Presley.

  • this is music!

  • Fell in love with Nick during Live Aid performance.

  • The one band most guys were afraid to admit they liked them. Awesome Live band. Saw them at the Seven and the Ragged Tiger Tour in Cleveland.

  • Où se passait ce concert et en quelle année please?

  • @lys84 1985-Live Aid

  • @Marine4everandever , ok merci ;)

  • DD was my favourite pop group for years and I loved Nick Rhodes soooo much :)

  • No....the James Bond song was "View To A Kill."

  • WOW!!!! I haven't seen LIVE AID in ages. I have it on video and I got the DVD. Thanks for posting this!! :)

  • I am still in love..

  • At some point, Frankie goes to Hollywood said it was better band Duran Duran.

But time took care to reveal, what is the best band. FGH was forgotten while DD is still very much alive until our days

  • @duranmania

    FGTH wasn't forgotten, dude...

  • otimo som !!!!

  • dang he sung bad! im scared when he sings like that he should just take it easy not they sing this song terrible! I hate the begining were they keep saying tananana over and overf and they say re flex flex flex flex flexflex and then he kicks! I hate that versionbecause they ruined the old version in 1984 which was awesome~

  • Those screams are not for band that didn't deliver. Those people had a blast while Duran Duran performed bad note or not. They obviously didn't care. They rocked Live Aid!!!

  • Que gran recuerdo!!! cuando todos bailan un ritmo y tu abrazada besada y bailando un lento...el mundo gira a tu alrededor =)

  • Wow the Live Aid performance! I haven't seen this in years.

  • On 3:40 you can find this all over metro manila of those red jackets. Great for raining season this may

  • Simon is in command here

  • Hey Bulner1. Thanks for posting this video but with a little research you would have known that it was "A View To A Kill" that Duran Duran recorded for the James Bond soundtrack of the movie " A View To A Kill"

As far as I know, this song was not included in any movie soundtrack ESPECIALLY NOT a James Bond film.

  • This vid is "The Reflex", not "A View To A Kill", but as long as you're on the topic, I own the soundtrack to this movie. Yes, the Duran Duran cover track is on the CD, twice in fact.

  • indy007, WHAT song is on the CD? "The Reflex" or "A View to a Kill"? or both?

  • The soundtrack "A View to a Kill" contains the DD track A View To A Kill. No, "The Reflex" is not on the soundtrack. It's just that the other person commented on A View To A Kill on this particular vid, which is The Reflex. That makes no sense. Cool?

  • indy007, first of all, all you've done is confuse everyone with your comments and secondly you've stated what I already had. My initial comment was because of the frustration I was feeling about stupid people who don't know what video they are commenting on and should shut the hell up. You don't need to comment further although I'd love to hear what the IDIOT named Bulner1 has to say about ALL the confusion he's caused but he's probably too embarrassed!

  • This is just another proof of how the eighties and nineties really rocked! What´s happening with music now?

  • One of the 827 reasons that music sucks now is that corporations control it, and they insist that most performers lip-synch because they feel that the artists cannot create the right sound in a concert venue. If artists lip synch in concert, and use studio musicians for recording, what is the group for? Duran Duran are a very rare bright light in the world of music now.

  • When I started playing in bands, I was told drummers in the States had to use ear tracks (an ear piece where they listen a metronome beat so they don´t loose the beat), I couldn´t believe it. I was told it was a regulation set by insurance companies to the concert producers to assure quality. I can see how they came up with lip synch.

  • I never thought of that! I am sure you are correct though!

  • Music is dead

  • One word "rap" it sucks.

  • johnnyboygeek - this is indeed Duran Duran. The only original member NOT present is Roger Taylor on drums. This was after his alleged mental breakdown. The backup singers were a normal part of their shows. This is, I believe, Power Station era (judging from Andy Taylor's hair-ha ha)

  • roger is there also. you can see him a little bit between 05:14-05:18. the poor director didnt show him. so sad this was the last live show before 2001 reunion.

  • You are absolutely correct. I noticed that after my post, but didn't think anyone else would...good eye! I wish I had the chance to see them in the early 80's - having been born and raised in Boise Idaho by Mormon parents there wasn't much of a chance of that....ha ha ha

  • erm : stephen 'tintin' duffy.. ?

  • cant help falling in love with them over and over again, they mean so much to me.

  • Saw them 2 times on their Arena Tour 1983-1984!

  • oh john´s mullet lol

  • This is not duran duran! LIER! but this is the live aid of course!

  • I love Duran Duran, BUT

    Simon is dreadful.

And Nick is clearly miming his parts.

  • ion871, You love Duran Duran? Simon IS Duran Duran, lol

  • this was my first concert with my best friends from that time,we recently talked about it on FB,simon looks so sexy with that dark hair I think,

  • you are fag!

  • and what do you mean, please?

  • MITICI DURAN DURAN

  • depeche mode, duran duran, U2, bands like that dont come around anymore :(. They are so good.

  • @DrMsIrKK Agreed....the vast majority of music simply doesn't measure up to the brilliance of those bands. DM, Duran Duran U2...legendary!

  • I always love this fab 5

  • Awesome! Sometimes, I wished I were born 1 decade years earlier.

  • I LOVE DURAN DURAN

  • @transdrole Your best bet is not to start a Duran Duran vs Tears For Fears war on here. It's a war that you're going to lose.

  • @CelesteK ?

  • @transdrole Don't start an arguement about who's better.

  • @CelesteK I actually love both DD and TFF. :) I actually loved a lot of British pop/new wave bands back in the 80s. TFF and DD have diff. styles so they can't be compared.

  • @cjs33139 Oh me too. I never said that you didn't like them. :) I don't think that it's best not to try and start a Duran Duran vs Tears For Fears war becuase they're both equally good bands. Actually Curt Smith and John Taylor and their wives are good friends. :)

  • Wow, this has got to be one of the stupidest comments I've read on YouTube, and that's saying a lot. It seems like you are compensating, trying to impress people with a sports car. Sorry, but the clothes or the car don't make the man. Try humility for a change, most people consider that a good attribute.

  • I wish that the bands of today had their talent, all this computer crap..They are the most AMAZING band ever, live & recording wise, seen them many times and no other group comes close, and I have saw lots of bands over 20 years!!

Cannot wait till they tour next year, the greatest band ever, met them and was in awe!! This is one of their best songs, and they have sooo many, No one like them, lots have tried & failed..love um :-)

  • One of my many cassettes I owned LOL I feel real old saying that

  • I still have my original "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" cassette! So can I join you in feeling old?

    LOL!

  • yeah, you can. But what do you play it in?

  • I still have that cassette as well..LOL..I never relized I was such a fan of new wave music back then...LOL

  • I love this song. Loved it 25-27 years ago when it came out. These guys were the hottest shit back then.

just lots of fun, lyrics that showed some personal thought rather than just rhyming words, pretty good for such a pop band.

The 'boys', they were called. There was another band called that. not bad company.

Any of the guys from Duran Duran would be welcome back IMHO, but as many of them back together as possible would of course be the most fun!

  • Uhhh...4 of them are back together: John, Simon, Roger, and Nick. They have new music and tour, too.

  • More Pussy than your family or anyone you know.

Gay? Shit they are the shit.

  • Precisely. From what I heard back in the day thess guys had alot of women.

  • Lucky, you may call them gay but trust me, they got plenty of action. None of them were gay and they were incredibly popular in their day. What they are wearing, etc., was totally in style at the time.

  • Heh . . . John & Nick look like they're wearing graduation robes . . . ;-)

  • DuRan DuRan genial muy buen video y ke buena cancion es increible,,,AGUANTE DURAN DURAN SON UNOS CAPOS!!!!!!!!

  • omg, I have this on original video VHS tape, taped back in 1985! no joke, still have it here with me and haven't let go of it, no matter where I move! I feel like i am 16 y.o. again when watching this. I turn 40 next month and I am so fortunate to have grown up in the 80s. :) It just feels like yesterday I was sitting in front of my TV videotaping this concert and jumping for joy that DD, my fave band in the 80s, were performing live!

  • @cjs33139 My dear, same here. But the difference now is that right now i am bolt and i cant dance and jump like before.....

  • The REFLEX.

  • you tossers, get a fucking grip

  • Wow! Simon has a lot of energy here. :) Actually all of them have a lot of energy here.

  • Simon is to Duran Duran, as Mick Jager is to the Stones.

  • Or what John Lennon was to the Beatles.

  • Or chocolate milk to swiss cheese.

  • Comment removed

  • it's called cocaine.

  • Esse som é demais!!!

  • buenííííísimo

  • Woah John, that hair is out of control!

  • I hate this song,but it'snt true

  • Dammit, had to get 're- directed' while watching Cannibal Corpse - "Fucked With A Knife".... Feels like an angst ridden night of not getting laid by a woman in 1984 all over again! :)

  • I have mixed feelings about duran duran's early performances of the reflex. Although its possibly my favorite song by them, i always feel that live in the 80's Andy and Nicks' sounds always clash, and it sounds like hysteria (especially in the beginning), and i also feel that although simon sounds good, he can lose his breath in the chorus. If you listen to them now though, that they've matured, they sound much better composed, and the song sounds great live. Does anyone know what i mean?

  • This gets me ready for the weekend still today.

Thanks for uploading this XTREME good sound!!!

    WOW! LONG LIVE DURAN DURAN.

  • 80's THe Best Decade!

  • hey simon nick john roger andy , you so totally rule!!!!!!!!

  • It's a bit funny/ironic that the music video for the song come from this performance, where Simon had is infamos vocal slip singing "A View to a Kill" and at a time where the band members hated each other.

  • This is NOT the performance that the music video came from - for one thing: Simon is blond in the music video and brunette here. AND the band members did not HATE each other ... ever. Roger left, because he couldn't stand life in the public eye. Andy left because of creative differences. Simon, Nick and John continued for some years, until John also left, to pursue other interests. They remained friends, and reunited in 2004. Then Andy left ... again, but the rest continue to rock!

  • Simon's hair is black because he dyed it for the Arcadia project.

Roger and Andy are both there.

Andy said something about playing a gig a few days prior to Live Aid, sort of as a rehearsal for Live Aid. This is that gig.

  • Actually ... this IS Live Aid - you can even see the signs off to the side when they do a wide shot. :)

Yes - hair was black for Arcadia ... changed look to go with a change in sound. Either way - he's gorgeous.

  • Yeah, not the performance (my bad), but there was a time when the band didn't get along. Just read Andy's autobiography.

  • That was part of the reason why Roger left the other part of the reason why Roger left is because he was a newlywed and he felt that he couldn't start a family while he was on the road all the time.

  • Andy is the one on the right, John is on the left, Roger on Drums , Nick on Keyboards, SIMON on Lead vocals Duranies Rule !!!!!!!

  • OMG! Padded shouderpads! do you believe that legwarmers are coming back? Found several pairs at Hot Topic. That's my teenage daughter's favorite store.

  • This is my favorite performance of this song

  • No The Reflex is not from James Bond. A View To Kill is from a James Bond movie but I forget which one.

  • The Bond movie called A View to a kill, from 1985.

  • Thanks LZB100.

  • So is now, but who gives when the music is as good as this.

  • The 80's were awesome. Everything was big. Hair, clothes and make up just to name a few. Notice the emergance of 80's groups reuniting. There is a demand for that music.

  • definately, there are also new bands that sound like music from the 80's, listen to Black Tide and Airbourne...

  • Yeah! It's the times when synth-rock was on top.

  • That's John with the hideous looking hair on Simon's left. In fact John and Andy both have hideous looking hair. L.O.R.L.

  • Which one is Andy? Is he on Simon's left or his right?

  • It's great to see all 5 of them back together again.

Simon, Nick, John, Roger, and Andy all look and sound amazing here.

  • Liveaid in 1985...their last show with this lineup for 20 years...
