i think (i just think)the last part was a bit exaggerated medyo ndi cla ngjive sa notes & overpowered nun sop ung alto maganda po ung version nila but there are some parts na ndi na necessary na 2 voices. opinion lang po hope sana walang magalit & paki correct lang po kung mali me.....
It's called control. They should exchange parts, molina doing the higher parts and vice versa. Although this blending is less disastrous than doing the flower duet.
If you are talking about switching alto & soprano, then you are NOT talking about control. That is Voice blending and NOT control. Also why would you want the Mezzo to switch notes with the Soprano? The Soprano handles the high notes and the Mezzo role here is to support. Are you a voice major? me too, at Curtis Institute and they sound good to me not disastrous as you claimed. You must have the Talangka mentality. Bravo Rachel & Molina!! Keep up the good work. All Pilipinos are proud of you.
They both have no squillo (lowered larynx technique). I'm talking about Rachelle's piercing high notes and Camille's ability to sing high notes with less piercing sound.
@manlodaw Of course Ms. Gerodias' voice will sound piercing as she is a lyric coloratura. The so called piercing sound or metal in her voice is necessary. How can her instrument soar above a full orchestra in a big hall WITHOUT amplification? Plus, the tessitura of her voice is very different from Ms. Lopez-Molina's voice.
Ms. Lopez-Molina's voice is comparable to the great sopranos such as Millo and Tebaldi.

Rachelle Gerodias is very good. I hope she gets a chance to sing a Puccini or Verdi opera at the Lincoln Center in New York. I love to see Filipino talents shine in the international arts arena, but so far, only Cecile Licad is able to do that. The Phil. government needs to support artistic talents in the country.

I apologize - I meant no offense to her; I was just in a jocular mood, i.e., "it's not over until the fat lady sings", etc. I've actually read much about Camille Lopez-Molina, e.g., that she is a voice professor at the UP College of Music, etc. - I just did not know her by face up until I've seen this video.

It's Rachelle Gerodias' song. I've heard other sopranos but none does it with the incredible vocals that Rachelle does.
