If I was seeing someone live, I would much rather hear a live version that is real instead of the 'perfect' heavily edited version off of a CD. I don't pay X amount of money to see the person lip synch to the same CD I have in my car. I think a live version is always better (I mean, unless their voice gets magically cursed by a witch and they start honking like a goose or something), because you get to hear 'them' in the moment.
