Well, I believe some parts of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone are now open for guided tours. I believe the developers went on several such trips while making the game.

@Adso90 Spoiler: Yes Marked One is Strelok, or better said Strelok is Marked One. You may ask "why is he hunting himself then?" well in Clear Sky you can see at the ending that he's being brainwashed by the C-Conciousness, they wanted to kill the guy that knew too much but they weren't sure if it was Strelok. So they basically sent Strelok out to kill himself to get rid of him. Quite complicated. PS: You can find out that you're Strelok by doing the an optional mission meeting the doctor in SoC

Arg...I hate it when people seem to think that joining the C-Consciousness is somehow a good ending. It isn't. The Zone, the mutants, the anomalies, it's all their fault. Joining them is dancing with the devil.

The only good ending is where you destroy the C-Consciousness.

The guy in the dark cloak with the hood, i think he is Major Degtayev from call of Pripyat... y suggestion. The only pointers and evidence i have got is ths: he has an AKs-74u, he wears the same clothes as Degtayev in the achievement when you help the bandits.

For S.T.A.L.K.E.R. it's about an organisation of scientist trying to convert the world for the good but ended up blowing Ukraina and created the Zone.

Metro 2033 is about the result of a third world war that ended the world of the outside, and the life of the people underground.

Even the mutants mentioned on the book are different from eachother.

Just because they are both in post-apocalyptic world doesn't it mean they are ripping eachother

IMO there's only one real (and good) ending: the one where strelok destroys the green 'cc containers' -What a great fight I had with the monoliths. What a beautiful game! :-)

He's known as "the Doctor", he's a close friend of Strelok.

You can see him one time in the game when you make an appointment with him in Strelok's hiding place

When he destroys C-consciousness he doesn't destroy the zone, he just simply stops it from spreading. + he probably stopped C-consciousness from doing a third fuck-up.

In SoC you've lost all your memories but the only thing you know is that you need to kill strelok. You'll later find out that (spoiler) you're strelok yourself.

You're send to kill yourself. in Stalker CS you'll see how this could happen.

Streloks past makes more sense in clear sky and u meet doctor if u decide to complete the "find strelok" and "kill strelok" job underground which gives u the entrance to find the C-Con in the NPP or u can just drop a gauss gun at the locked door and it'll open lol thts what I did

I did like that concept. The brain scorcher. You know the only reason why i was really interested in this game is because I was really intruiged by the Chernobyl accident. Like I said before, being inside the destroyed powerplant was very eerie.

If you have a good graphics card and a decent core 2 duo processor running it with atleast 3gb of ram, you really get to enjoy the graphics very much in the highest settings. Otherwise, the game itself is ....hmmm... so so. I loved the game due mostly of its atmosphere and eerie maps. I wouldnt play it on low settings. Its not that great.

Its ridiculous. Right from the start, it doesnt really make much sense. Stalkers running around trying to make money while theres a myth about a monolith that grants wishes right inside where the Chernobyl power plant had a melt down.

While its fun to play mostly in my opinion, due to the nice graphics, its really a non linear game and you sort of lose sense of a main goal.
