I liked it for the nostalgia. But WOW this was terrible. Good thing it wasn't an actual promo for the movie.
This was a great movie. At first glance it's a goof ball one. But people might forget the seriousness of it too. I related to it since my parents were divorced as well.
@jh15116 I still dress like it on the weekends when I'm not at work. :) just have to search Ebay. However Neon Crazy designs are slowly starting to come back into fashion. Pastel and Bright colored Izod shirts were already back a couple years ago. Volcom sells a lot of neon shirts. But they still haven't quite gotten back to the crazy random geometric shapes.
A two minute ad? Those aren't cheap, unless they were running this at 3:00 in the morning. They must have had a lot of faith in kids' desire for signed Fred Savage pictures.
@TD9001 You're not considering the year this was made. Ads were not as expensive back then. Especially if they were airing it on a UHF channel. Not sure about your age, but in the 80s we had the regular channels, cable channels, and then the UHF channels. I miss those channels very badly for the alternate programs we got. I wish Dish Network set ups would provide funding to local places so we could get that local flavor back. ION TV almost has that local UHF feel , but still not quite.
i wonder how many loser faggot hipsters spend thousands of dollars of rich mummy and daddum's money to dress like those kids in this wearing common clothes nobody thought twice about back then
those backgrounds remind me of the opening Saved by the Bell credits. i saw a 2010 DVD for LM the other day with new artwork. doesn't look to have any special features though.
that would be cool if someone who won something posts - Hawaii!!!
I can't wait to show my brother this video. I'm 32 and he's 29.We watched this on the vcr in his bedroom back in 1989.We goofed on the song but it was stuck in both our heads for about a week afterwards.YOUTUBE is a repository of useless childhood memories.
gotta love how they repeatedly encourage the kids to call the number, but only once whisper the (ohyeahcheckwithmomanddad) bit. If I'd ever called that, my parents would've choked me to death with the phone cord.
I remember watching this movie over and over again cause I loved Fred Savage and his ability to show real emotions in the Characters he played. From Keven Arnold, in the Wonder years, to Cory Woods in The Wizard. His talent seems to have no boundaries. Thanks for sharing this great bit of memory. This one I do remember on Nickelodeon (when nick was about good shows. You can't do that on Television, Mr Wizards world, Finders keepers. ECT) Thanks again .
Oh my lord, this is great stuff! This must have been dug up from the catacombs. Little MOnsters is a horrible movie, but when I was a kid, I thought it was cool LOL.
@JohnnySwitchblade What's a VHS? I'm just kidding. HAHA! My generation was when VHS's was starting to become extinct. But the next generation, won't know what a VCR is. Isn't that funny? HAHA!
I remember other kinds of numbers that you needed to ask your parents first, and if you didn't, you got in trouble. Because they were those "bad" numbers!
Yeah man, I don't know why people hate the 80's, last decade before the inevitable nosedive after Nancy Reagan's save the children BS, which will be the death of us all.
@JokersGoil to me, the 90s were cool growing up, with the various toys, commercials, memories and such...and now that I'm older, I can look back on it in a different, more analytical way and appreciate it in a whole new way. 90's looks like the 80's except less cheesy..not that I was around in the 80's still, both decades look awesome to me!
@InfiniteRandom: Yeah, don't get me wrong. I loved growing up in the 90's, and I wouldn't change that. :) The cheesiness to me isn't a bad thing, it just adds to the awesome factor.
trust me, you will be saying the same thing in 20 years looking back on this generation. We'll all be wondering why we all didn't wear our shiny silver jumpsuits back then
So one day these guys decided to ruin the little monsters movie (as if it wasn't ruined enough) and make me hate rap (as if i didn't hate it enough). No offense to rappers and rap lovers, rap just drives me crazy.
