  • Yang Bo wasn't a beam champion... it seem ridiculous...

  • wow those people are so good though

  • Kui Yuanyuan never won the gold she deserved on beam.. :(

  • It upsets me how close Viktoria Karpenko was in 2000 in Sydney. She had the AA title wrapped up and tripped, fell, and went OOB twice on FX. :_(

  • anna pavlova is still competing she won a gold medal at the 2010 russian nationals

  • Kraker at the time she was competing was always in the mix, but never a favorite to win anything. With the exception of bars, her form was always a little off. Other East Germans before and after her had cleaner form and execution. When Maxi Gnauck came into the mix in 1979, a lot of focus was taken off of Steffi.

  • Zhang Nan was also one of the most successful gymnast every produced by china, she won all around medals in 2003 worlds and 2004 olympics and was on the 2006 gold medal world team

  • Alexandra Eremia from Romania was a champion 2004 Olympic Team Gold Medalist, Steffi Kraker was the 1977 East Germany National Champion and 1976 Olympic Team Bronze Medalist, and 1977 World Bronze medalist on bars she also won a gold medal on the bars at the 1978 world cup in Tokyo she also won medals in the 1978 and 1979 worlds and the 1980 olympics and 1981 worlds

  • It's so shocking that Yang Bo and Anna Pavlova never managed to win any world titles. Particularly Yang Bo.... By far the most skilled beam worker Women's gymnastics has ever seen.

  • hangon wasnt anna pavlova a dancer? or is this a different one?

  • All these women deserved a gold medal! but to me Anna did the most because she is really want artistic gymnastics is about! She is elegant, classical, artistic, and powerful! She will be a champion in my eye!

  • I'm very sad when I think about Yang Bo.. she was so good and so unlucky :(

  • They are champions in my eye

  • man some of these make nastia luikin and shawn look average...

  • the most talented gymnast to never go to an olympics was Oksana Omeliankchik....she was world champ in 85 though so she wasn't eligible for this montage....

  • sadly we only remember the champions...

  • this montage could be endless...

  • Lobaznyuk and Pavlova are the ones that kill me. They were amazing.

  • @gabriellesgirl I think Karpenko too :'(

  • @Lariov Oh definitely.

  • This is a pretty subjective list; there are hundreds of great gymnasts that never won an individual title, so I'm not really sure why you only picked these.

  • omg there wayyyyyyy bettert than most of the gymnasts i know that won individuals in the olympics...

some of them are champions.... most of them went to the olympics

  • Just goes to show how difficult this sport is, and how easy it is to take great talent for granted as we watch them do what we wish we could do.

  • karpenko shouldve been world aa champion in '99. nice montage

  • anna pavlova deserved/deserves so much more than she gets. she definitely is a true champion, even without a medal to show for it.

  • Is this for gymnasts who never won individual gold? Because almost all of these gymnasts have won individual medals.

    Great montage though; Nice music!

  • Voinea with her worm movement and her double layout to punch front...crazy...

And Yang Bo....I always think that the fact she did not stick her dismount during worlds beam EF is even more heart-ripping than Cheng Fei did not win 2008 olympic floor or vault gold.

  • yang bo was a beam champion and lobaznyuk was not a champion becasue she got injured if u dont believe it watch the viedio called gymnastics not always a happy ending

  • there are alot of gymnasts who have never won an individual title, soi it would be hard to choose!

  • Camelia Voinea won the 1987 World Team title with...well....her team.

  • well done?

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan I totally ignored individual! LOL! My bad!

  • Lavinia Agache won a Team Gold.

  • Ester Moya! Hell ya I agree with! That bitch should have medaled on floor that year!

  • Beautiful montage :)

    I favourited it!

    lol

    x

  • Anna deserved a medal just for making Gymnastics more beautiful to watch =( So sad... I missed Produnova, also.

  • That is so sad that Lobaznyuk never won :( She is so good.

  • Rosa Galyeva !! (RUS)

  • I can definitely see why some of these gymnasts were passed over for World or Olympic titles. Their skills are elite caliber, but their technique is not quite as refined. But some just make you say, "What were the judges thinking?!" I mean, Yang Bo is a fantastic beam worker! And don't get me started on Anna Pavlova! Her beam enough is worthy, as is her floor. But I would totally give one to Eremaia for that awesome beam mount.

  • Great montage! For the record, I'd add: Stella Umeh (CAN), Silvia Mitova (BUL), Brandy Johnson (USA), Vanessa Atler (USA), Luisa Portocarrero (GUA), Natalia Frolova (URS), and amazingly enough, Dominique Dawes (she never won gold individually)

  • Adiemus by Enya

  • @Gymbasa Actually it's not Enya's song. Rather, it was sang by somebody whose voice is extremely similar to Enya's voice.

  • Munch, gorgeous, as always, but did you really have to make me cry?!?

    Lovely, just lovely!

  • sorrrrrrrrrrrry :) glad you liked it

  • Yang Bo won BB Champion in world cup.

Zhang Nan won World Champion ship in Team in 2006 World Champion, and she was Chinese team leader.

Yes, they both have World Champion Title and their photos are on the World Champion Wall in Chinese Gym team training hall.

  • If i have to explain this any more i may scream. Neither won individual world championship titles. I was not including team titles. And World Cup is not World Championships.

  • @MunchTheSilivasFan

LOL!!! I think you're going to get comments like these all the time :D

    I understood your comments!!

  • While this montage is awesome, it makes me somewhat sad b/c some of the best gymnasts ever--Anna Pavlova and Viktoria Karpenko--are on it. And I still think Camelia Voinea should have won a gold medal in the 1988 Olympics simply for being awesome enough to pop it and lock it during her floor routine. : )

  • I have not found Voinea's FX at Seoul. :(

  • yang bo is known as one of the best beamers ever, but she never won!

  • i know its really surprising!! i think zhang nan is a good all arounder but the chinese team seems to be dominated by events specialists so i feel she is always somewhat over shadowed

  • Yang Bo won BB gold medal in world cup final

  • and erimea won a gold in 04 with the team?

  • yes she did, but i meant people who hadn't won an individual gold

  • oh i see,

    well greaat montage,

i feel so sorry for anna pavlova, she really deserves something.

  • There is a chinese gymnast Qi Linzi who was never really on a major team, but she was great.

  • Wow I had never heard of Steffi Kraker but the stuff she does on bars is INCREDIBLE! How have we not heard of her before????

  • I wish Dawes had been in there. So incredibly talented but had such a bad string of performances. :(

  • nice. whats the music?

  • the only reason that eremia didn't win all aroung medal, that seh didn't compete on vault and bars..but she has several individual event final medals,, for example: BB euros 2004 silver and an olympic bronze!!

  • i felt so bad for pavlova...once she got the silver on europeans, but she never could win an individual olympic or world gold medal...BUT she would really deserved it

  • i loved Anna as well. She is such a joy to watch! I am also pained she never got an individual medal! :(((

  • I really hope Pavlova can get her name taken off this list in Beijing. I doubt it happens because there are others stronger than her in all the events but she is so wonderful to watch. It also pains me that Yang Bo never won a major title.

  • I too love Anna- she performed beautifully in Beijing and made the EF in so many events, but didn't medal. Such a beautiful, talented, graceful, all-around gymnast. It breaks my heart she never got the gold she deserved, as I doubt she will continue in the next quad.

  • It broke my heart too. She has the potential to be one of or the best gymnast in the world but theres always something in her way..or herself. anyway. she said she would like too conitue to the next quad. but she tore her knee up at a comp after the olympics and shes not sure if the recovery will take to long and etc..

  • I get so sad whenever I see Yang Bo. She deserved to win at least one gold.

  • Yeah same here. It pains me to even think about it sometimes! lol

Same goes for Zhang Nan (should've won on Beam at the 2006 Worlds) and Karpenko (was one of my favourites for the Olympic AA in Sydney). :(

  • hi there, i was wondering what this music is.

  • i'm sorry, i was blind. i just read the description.

  • Love that you included Filatova - one of the best beam workers I've ever seen - and Agache! Great job - good choice of music.

  • yekaterina lobaznyuk won two silvers in balence beam and team competition and one bronze in VT at 2000 olympic games, anna pavlova won two bronzes in VT and team competition at 2004 olympics , zhang nan won bronze in the AA competition in athens

  • And you are telling me this why?

  • yes but never GOLD-read the info! i know this was ages ago but it annoys me when people dont read the info 1st

  • very good but ekaterina won a lot of medals in olympics an esther only get 4 two times

    ...

  • Esther Moya qualified in first to the vault final

  • yes but she didn't won the medal in the final

  • Which is probably wny she is included in this list of people who were never champions.

  • Yes but she had the capability, and as steph says that's why she's here

  • Comment removed

  • well i was aiming more for individual medals.

  • Excellent! And the music fit in perfectly!!!

  • first girl name idk

she had to quit because of a bone diease i think

  • If you mean the very first girl then that is Ekaterina Laboznyuk. She injured her knee and couldn't carry on.

  • It was Nadezhda Ivanova who retired due to bone disease.

  • Oh, Karpenko...

    LOVE

  • awsome idea for montage...

    great music,great montage...

    like it a lot
