It would certainly be a refreshing change from the idea of legalizing marijuana to "really go after the hard drugs".

Criminalizing non-addictive things like bananas is probably less likely to prompt people to rob and steal to get the money for the newly-expensive fruits.

I don't even know how to respond to you, thefakeyeti. Marijuana doesn't need a safe injection site, Marijuana users don't walk the streets and smoke in ally ways. Marijuana users don't overdose when they smoke, and usually don't need a nurse to witness their ingestion to make it more safe.

great news! In the midst of worsening changes in Canadian drug policy, there are some positive things happening

Those sites really do save lives, and it's great to hear it will stay open. Drugs aren't going anywhere anytime soon, so there should be a safe place for addicts to inject, and while they are they they can get educated. Of course, this is only if they are willing, but going to a place like Insite is a great start on the long road to recovery.
