No disrespect intended to John Valley, but Paul Rogers say's this song is mostly about Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin. It can't be about Jimi alone as his mother died when he was a child. I imagine a good part of it is about Paul himself and stardom.
This reminds me of my brother who died at the age of 15.He was hit by a drunk driver.I miss him dearly. And yes he was defintaly a shooting star.I miss you forever bro </3
I still like your version...and I still remember your advice...about re recrding my version a half step down.. : ) Dont you know that you are a shooting star.
Hey Friend, not only are you playing one of my all time favorites but youre playing it with so much feeling, A it shows youre hearts in it as well. And youre vocals are like none iv'e never heard before, great control , great voice. Youre a great musician buddy, . And thats exactly how i play it to. Once again , great job . I don't see anyone out doing you no time soon.
TAKE CARE JEFF.........CLEVELAND TENNESSEE I PLAY A 1994 40TH ANNIVERSARY FENDER STRATACASTER email me some time
This was great! I don't know if it was intentional, but on some of your "don't" 's of "don't you know you are a shooting star" there was some vibrating or wavering in your voice and it sounds really great. Add that in more because it makes it sound much better!
very nice man....ive always loved this song, and you did it justice....hey if u get a chance check out my version of wont back down....did my best....
great tribuate to my cousin john valley who died at age 32 in his sleep and played guitar for a rock and roll band localy ' great song god bless my freind
this is not about John valley my cousin it is in the sequence of my cousin's life he played in a locale band and played guitar and died in his bed 'thank's if you still wan't to keep his trubate up that wou'ld be great
Great, except for a couple of flubbed chords. Eend of chrus you should play a G-chord(hold for 8-beats, then D-also hold for 8-beats, then E (hold the E for 16 beats, then start the next verse). Listen to it on Youtube, then please re-record and post a corrected version. Thanks dude! Otherwise good.
Ahh, my Yankee friend we meet again. LOL I still have to say U are one of my favs. I have a request for ya...Anything Jackson Browne? I still love your Van Morrison better. What can I say? Im Irish!!! LOL
Love that tune. I did "Heard it in a Love Song" sometime back. I'll work on "Can't You See." I saw Marshall Tucker when I was 13, first concert I ever saw.
Thanks for the good words brother. You know, at our age, it's about feeling good. As long as you enjoy it man, that's what counts. The simple things, ya know? I did this without the intro and being a fanatic, and it felt good. Thanks for your good words and I leave you with these words - go for it; follow your passion, you won't regret it!
