@pkonedge There are quite a few species of parrots that do pluck...cockatoos, macaws, eclectus, African Greys, etc. I wouldn't suggest a large, needy parrot of any type to someone who is 15 years of age since they are usually very active in school, extracurricular activities, friends, etc and do not have much time to devote to such a needy bird.

@biba1baba2buba3 Snowball is a sulphur crested Eleanora cockatoo...he's not a citron. Cockatoos are very loud, destructive, and needy. They require a lot of attention. When I was a teen i was involved in sports, music, and other extracurricular activities...I wouldn't have had time for a cockatoo while in school. A cockatoo has the worst bite because of the shape of their lower mandible. They have been known to rip the beak off of a macaw which is larger.

@twilightfan4940 Yes, Snowball already talked when we received him. Cockatoos require a lot of work and attention. If you don't have the time to devote to a bird, please do not get one because they are more demanding than dogs and cats put together.

@Eli666Ms Yes, birds do belong in the skies and not in cages. However, this is the case so we all have to make the best of an imperfect situation. We run a bird sanctuary and quite a few of the birds here have some sort of disabilities. Some cannot perch, some have difficulty walking, etc. They would not survive in the wild otherwise. So this is the next best place if they are to survive. Thank you for your heartfelt comment.
