@DASVWPOS The buyer bought it sight unseen, flew in from san francisco and drove off into the sunset.
I"m not sure what HPFP means? As for the DSG, its as smooth as butter. Two things really stood out about the new model for me: its extremely quiet compared to my last TDI. Secondly, the shifting is very smooth. The downfall of the car, if any, is the cheap looking and feeling interior, at least when compared to the Golf or GTI. If I hadnt needed a pick up for work, i'd have gone with the Jetta
@DASVWPOS I test drove the TDI model which does have disc brakes all around. I dont know that I would even notice the drum brakes. Anyway, it was priced at 24K. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten it for 22K, which, to me, would have been a great price. My Golf TDI lasted 10 years, 253K miles and I just sold it last week on ebay.
The new Jetta looks nice. Looks like a smaller version of the new Passat. I don't know why some people are being so critical about the new Jetta; it's very classy looking and has euro-style. The Jetta is VWs top selling car in America. They are very solid and fun-to-drive cars. With the TDI, it will be even better!
Up here in Canada the Jetta TDI is available. I took one for a boot and if you're thinking of buying this car get it in the TDI model. The acceleration is great, it's quiet and you can't even tell it's a diesel under the hood. I own an '08 Altima and the Jetta is way quieter. VW did a great job with the insulation not only from the diesel engine by road noise as well. Kudos to them!
I love how most americans find the design boring, but Germans find it really nice and refreshing and more German. I guess North Americans just dont know what German is.
Interesting - all the naysayers comment on how bland (whatś that about a hint of Audi A4 styling?) and dumb-downed this new VW is - have we all forgotten the raison d´etre for the VW? Simple (read bland) and inexpensive (read Walmart shoppers). VW has Audi, Porsche, SEAT, Skoda, and a stake in Suzuki - thatś more than enough style and excitement.
Good to see VW going back to their roots -I welcome the price reduction.
@Descartes619 Because German's make the best cars in the world. But of course i would assume you have never owned one so you wouldnt know. Go test drive one and you will then get it.
@DigableDude Don't comment when you know ABSOLUTELY nothing about cars!!.. Hyundai?? focus?? are you kidding me. More quality? I love ignorant people like yourself posting such things. You can not compare quality of a Jetta to a Focus, there is no comparison and that is a fact. Go learn a thing or two about German engineering then come back and comment.
@xxsekoxx You know a lot about German engineering? Well, why does it take an hour to change the air filter by yourself because the Germans are so advanced in their engineering that everything from them is so complicated. Complexity isn't always a good thing. Have you fixed anything designed by the Germans? What in the world are you talking about when Ford and Hyundai have less problems in the long run compared to German cars. Go do your research son, then come back.
@tobearockstar0706 Your another idiot i'm not going to waste my time on. Talk your youtube trash kid. In real life, its guys like me who slap bitches like yourself around. Piss off child.
@tobearockstar0706 Is that your rule? you don't know what a fight is kid. So your saying i lost my tempter on youtube? are you a complete idiot? Youve never been in a fight in your life kid, stop acting hard on youtube and go play your lame guitar with your lame friends. And stop posting on videos that you know nothing about.
@xxsekoxx Weak tsk tsk. Why don't you stop being so pissed off. It kills your soul. Maybe your just pissed off because your German cars keep breaking on you. I don't know.
@tobearockstar0706 I think it's the other way around. Your pissed at life because you know nothing about cars and the only thing your good at is playing a guitar. My Audi's are running great! Smoking them little kiddie Nissan's all day long. Don't be jealous kid, one day, if you try hard enough, you can be a cool kid too. Until then.. keep sobbing away playing your guitar....
Well, my name is David. I love music, I play guitar and other instruments that I get my hands on. I do some gaming on my spare time. Just recently took up photography as a hobby. That's pretty much it! And by the way, I really LOVE music!
@tobearockstar0706 Welcome to my channel! Here, I will present you with entertainment for all the ages. My category would be from machinimas to guitar tips and covers (more covers when I get an electric). So there is a bit for everyone! Thanks for visiting and looking around!
I own a 00' Jetta Mk4 and love it...would buy another vw but since they no longer offer a 6 cylinder and/or ever got around to upping the HP to something more respectable then 200hp...
The last VW I will ever own is in my driveway. What a joke. Why would they target Honda and Toyota drivers? Those types of buyers shop at Walmart and buy cars based on features and price instead of handling, safety, engineering, design and practicality. VW is going to lose a lot of customers. They have watered down the brand to satisfy the bottom line. Toyota did this and look where they are. Most disappointing indeed.
@Morescratch there doing this because they dont have enough customers, they dont want there jetta to please a niche market anymore, this is a volume strategy to gain market share in the U.S basically. But i believe this strategy is only confined to the jetta, the rest of their models should be fine.
Wow, what a disappointment. Bland and anonymous styling, dumbed-down suspension, poorer-quality interior materials - VW madesome serious mis-steps with this car. IMO, it is a serious mistake for them to go for a more value-driven approach at the cost of emphasis on "German engineering." Its funny how just as Ford is finally getting wise that consumers are interested in their undiluted European products (Focus/Fiesta), VW is going the opposite way - i.e. towards dumbing down their US products.
cheap cheap cheap!!!! why did they "americanize" this car. vw is known for well built well trimmed cars. Now they are cheap quality and mass marketed for mass sales. Just like toyota. toyota was once a dependable, well built vehicle and look what happened to them. to bad. oh well theres still bmw
@cxvh you cant compare BMW to VW they are in different classes completely. VW did a great job in reducing there prices before a jetta fully equipped was just a little cheaper than a base audi a4. I just hope the price for the GLI is relative to the price of the MK6 jetta and looks the same as the NCC coupe.
my vw jetta 2011 has so much power

lol spoiled americans( i am spoiled)
we want so much power
i would feel extremely content with 110hp 123 lbs of torque=fun
combined with solid handling and parts were it counts(suspension, powertrain)
not the fuckin interior lol, who needs fancy interior, just spend 25k on the golf lol or better yet just get an audi
good job vw, you continue to make my heart melt
currently driving 97 jetta 3 with 157k miles on it, plan to get 220k miles
