  • Holy mother of God all of Testament's best songs are on this album... D.N.R., Legions of the Dead, Riding the Snake and THIS MASTERPIECE OF METAL.

  • I don't get Anthrax haters. Anthrax is good. Listen to "Among the Living", "Persistence of Time", "State of Euphoria", "Spreading the Disease." There one of the few thrash bands that actually writes lyrics from the heart that are relatable to anybody (metalheads). It's about actually really social problems not the fake bull crap about sucking satans dick and killing people because you can deal with your problems.

  • Ultimate thrash band:

    Lombardo

    Newsted

    Skolnick

Dino Caserez (I know he's not thrash, but a hell of a rhythm guitar player)

    Zetro

  • Metallicrap is slowly being exposed for the hacks they are and as more and more people discover how many other incredibly good bands preceded and outplayed them and continue to do so over 30 years later they will slowly become a footnote or (hopefully) all but disappear from the annals of TRUE metal history...

  • @indcore On a level, you're right. But try to wipe Master of Puppets off the annals of true metal history...

  • Dave Lombardo, James Murphy. On a TESTAMENT album. How could it have gone wrong? It didn't. : D

  • great economical guitar solo performed James Murphy

  • Really like the slow solo on this one.

  • I liked Tempesta on Low just as much, but both albums have their own style and sound that can't really be compared to one another.

  • when you listen to Lombardos drums is like you are stuck in the railways...and a train is approaching on your way...any second now....!!!!

  • james murphy, an excellent man. amazing solo's always. dave lombardo, revered in metal for being in slayer and beating the shit out of his kit and the god of double bass. chuck billy, a vocalist that has not only become like a god in the eyes of the fans, but has overcome cancer. eric peterson. one of the founding cats of testament, one of the best riff writers in the world (beats mustaine for me personally.) and steve digorgio, almost positively one of the best bassists to ever grace metal.

  • Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Anthrax < Testament, Exodus, Overkill, Dark Angel

  • My only complaint here is that you can't tell it's DiGiorgio on bass. For some reason, pretty much every band he's been in tends to make the bass magically disappear under the other instruments. Charred Walls Of The Damned is a good example of this: while being an amazing group, there's a massive lack of DiGiorgio.

I think the best way to get to know what the guy's capable of is checking out his work with Death and Quo Vadis. Man, those were some sick motherfucking albums.

  • @Wyndrax are*

  • LOMBARDO THE KING OF DRUMS!!!!!!!!

  • Metallica's early stuff is great and while they may have lost A LOT of momentum in the 90s, they're starting to return to their former sound with DM. For some reason, everyone acts as if Metallica committed some unforgivable act when almost every thrash band lost their roots until only recently with the resurgence of Thrash. Hating Metallica just for their 90s work does not make you "more metal." That said, this album is sounding really good. BTW, can anyone tell me if this album has any solos?

  • @McPigeon753 the gathering? yeah every song has an awesome solo. this one does, but its slower than the others. i recommend true believer.

  • @McPigeon753

Agreed, there are countless of thrash bands who lost it in the 90's. Just because Metallica got big with tBA and the albums after, and because tBA was a great success, (and it was pretty good as well) Metallica is always mentioned as if they were the only thrash band to sell out, or become that mainstream.

Megadeth for example did it just as bad.

Btw, props to Chuck, Dave, and the rest of Testament for making this very good album!

  • can someone pls tell me what Sipledome means? i have searched for weeks now cant find a thing, what is it?

  • Comment removed

  • godfather of double bass

  • i think this album had testaments best lineup, but gene hoglan is the best musician to ever play for testament and hes on demonic... its tough. james murphy, lombardo, and steve digiorgio vs gene and derrick ramirez. guess you gotta take this one. anything without louie clemente. that dude had a free ride if ive ever seen one (im lookin at you too lars).

  • haha the beginning vocals kinda sound like Lamb of God

  • @jademoley11 extreme guttural vocals. yes randy blythe of Lamb of God has stated some of his influences came from testament

  • crazy double bass

  • dios mio, que pedazo de tema. es increible el poder que tienen estos tipos. salud testament.

  • why cant testament

AND metallica both be good bands? why do people hate on metallica so much? I dont like their 90s stuff as much but its not bad just not thrashy. some of the stuff in death magnetic is pretty thrashy and I'm one of the few people who actually like st. anger alot! but testament kicks ass as well!

  • kinda sounds like hail mary in the beginning

  • LOL Metallica are fucking bullshit compared with this. Btw I don't get why many call Testament a second-class Metallica. Unlike them, Testament, never released a bad album, not even one, while all Metallica stuff from 1990 onwards sucks ass, and there's no hope of an improvement for them.

Testament never tried to rip them off, plus they launched their very own thrash style, adding melody to the music and deeper lyrical meanings than your average thrash band.

  • @faggotmutilator666 agreed, don't even compare, Metallica got worse and softer, Testament had a slight soft period but only got heavier and better from there. The Gathering is my favorite Testament album, even above The New Order,

  • @faggotmutilator666 My god you're ignorant and stupid, Testament did not invent meaningful lyrics for thrash, pretty sure it was done ages ago (one of those bands that did it before Testament was the band you seem to hate aka Metallica). And off the top of my head Testament released two bad albums (Demonic and Practice What You Preach).

Metallica went in a different direction and you know what, Load wasn't that bad, it was different, and different is nice, not repetitive, shitty thrash.

  • This is one of the few bands for me that started out writing awesome thrash songs, and only got better with time. The Gathering is a seriously heavy album.

  • YES YES YESS METAL!!!!!!!!!

  • does anyone know of any tabs for this? im trying to learn and will need some help on the solo

    p.s. testament fuckin rules

  • is it possible dave lombardo is the best drummer in the world... i think so

  • then lars ulrich behind

followed by the drummer from slipknot

    (i forget the name) lol

  • dude, no... scott travis is waaaaay better than both of them, i mean cmon... and the drummer of dream theatre, if u think lars is better than him u r kind of stupid... truth's a bitch aint it?

  • some groovy feeling at the end of this song , dave lombardo simply amazing on drum

  • PORCO DIO!

  • Fuck you shitbag. You dont know any "metal" bands than metallica and you can barely name any albums from metallica. Metallica is overrated crap.

  • I think THIS is their heaviest song

  • @choachi2: i've heard heavier testament stuff, it's still a kick ass song, but i've heard heavier.

  • jeez, like what?

  • demonic refusal, down for life, eyes of wrath, henchmen ride, formation of damnation.

  • this one's heavier Imo

  • between Slayer w/ Lombardo and Testament w/ Lombardo there's been great music in each band..idk what connection there is, i cant put my finger on it. ;]

  • It should be impossible to go taht fast with your feet lol. Il ove you Dave Lombardo!!!!!!

  • Agree with dave lombardo is the best metal drummer ever.

  • I always thought they should have called this album 'Testament-Dave Lombardo Kicks You Dead in the Testicles!'

  • the whole line ups is mind blowing

  • Absolutely.

  • have you tried this on guitar i own a bc rich warlock neck thru series wich comes best for songs this fast honestly when i say this this is the best line up of testament the songs were darker harder fast deeper heavier and louder the vocals send shivers down your spine dave is the best for testament my opinon the other musicans they had are gr8 but dave 4 the win LOMBARDO is god!

  • Killer line-up....Dave is a perfect fit on this album.....the music sounds so much like what Slayer was leaving behind in the 90'....this record is better than Diabolous...for sure.......

  • Favorite song from my favorite band!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love Chuck's growl!

  • 1:20

  • Fuckin' love this song!

    Thanks dude.

  • stop whining that crap on every video... I love old testament but I like this too

  • thats the sound of REAL DOUBLE bass not some trigger bullshit

  • Man...this is a song about global warming...

    ...AND ITS FUCKING AWESOME.

  • fucking idiot

  • awesome

  • haha if mustaine tried a voice like this he couldent pull it off

    testament for life baby

  • learn to spell first before making a comment. couldent? hahaha

  • never heard chuck billy use gutteral vocals before, then again im not too into Testament but its actually really good

  • He did some on Low, too.

  • He did A LOT on Demonic.

  • Awesome. One of my favorite songs on the album. Dave Lumbardo's shinning moment. Thanks for posting the videos. Much appreciated. Hail Testament.

  • wow, this song is so amazing

  • i love this song

  • damn this song is heavy

  • testament should be in the fantastic four, not anthrax!

  • anthrax couldnt suck on testaments left testical. TESTAMENT RULES

  • Haha hell yeah!

  • @Derazed85 bs all of them should be there

  • @Derazed85 Agreed.

The Big 5 of american thrash:

    Metallica (until Justice)

    Megadeth (sans Risk)

Slayer (sans Diabolus, God Hates Us All)

    Testament

    Dark Angel

  • @Wyndrax are you saying you liked world painted blood & christ illusion? gasp!

  • @IronGuitarist I did. Christ Illusion was ok, and World Painted Blood was really fun to listen.

  • @Derazed85 I didn't know anthrax were superheroes

  • @Warior79

Hmm... Do you even know what the fantastic four is in thrash metal?

  • @Derazed85 do you know that they are called the BIG four of thrash metal?

  • @Warior79

Of corpse, but I´ve also read that they calls it "The fantastic four" of thrash!

  • @Derazed85 where did you read that?

  • @Warior79

    Sweden Rock Magazine!

  • @Derazed85 correction. metallica should be replaced. there are lots of great 80s thrash bands. metal would of done great without metallica

  • @Derazed85 fantastic four? jajajaja

  • @Derazed85 what's wrong with Anthrax? they all should be The Great Five

  • @MrArghhhh Actually it should be six because of Overkill

  • @Derazed85 instead metallica you wanted to say ;)

  • @Derazed85 ...it's the big four you ass. And Metallica and Anthrax should be replaced with Testament and Exodus.

  • thanks for posting all of these testament songs.

  • who cares if its not as fast as hoglan lombardo owns next to gorge kollias from nile

  • Gene hoglan is better than Lombardo

  • gene hoglan is fat fuck. never said he was bad though

  • Testament were always a great band in my eyes. Dave Lombardo only made them greater!! His drumming style fits their newer stuff perfectly.

  • great double bass.

  • the only drummer that actually has the right to do one of those slayyer beatts lmao fuckk yeahh, to good...

  • good ol' dave lombardo

  • Best double bass sound ever.

  • This song kicks ass! The drums are brutal!
