  • its macbook prrrro not macbook pwwwo

  • haha, what you said about plasma display, it would be quite fat laptop : ) great review i watched this only for the reason that it's quite oldschool mac

  • does the keyboard have a backlight?

  • can you put the new style keyboard in that model

  • this how u talk the mac wook pwo lol

  • dude stop zooming, seriously.

  • someone has a lispp HAHAHAHA nicereview tho.. i like that macbook

  • Music LOW, Voice HIGH... I cant hear or understand you. :(

  • i love the old one. it looks durable, aswell as the new one

  • Is this the unibody one? or are the new macbook pros from like 2008-2009 the unibody ones?

  • lol at the music combined with viewing the lotion in the background

  • Sound like 'Johnathon Woss' Haha

    Nice review man

    Thanks

  • u can chose windows or mac on it?!

  • Yes :D

  • wow thats cool

  • well to use windows u need to buy it but yeah

  • yo, could you gimme the name for the song in the beginning

  • me 2 please :P

  • its off of iMovie 09 if you were wondering well i guess nvm since your comment was posted 9 months ago haha.

  • Good review but i have a suggestion for you...

Turn down the volume at the beginning. You can't have background audio overpower you or well, if becomes foreground audio.

  • i want a mac book so bad D:

but there kinda expensive but i might sell my old laptop

  • I am looking at a aluminum macbook, Then I saw this model macbook pro for the same price and dicided to get this because of the same specs and firewire 400 and well dvi not mini port. Cant wait.

  • when you opened it, it looked like you were running linux... are you dual booting to linux, or did you just adjust the theme of your mac to look like that? (sadly i dont have a mac, so i dont know, but i do use linux on one of my computers)

  • actually I was just running a regular copy of tiger.

    Kp

  • oh weird.... huh... the linux and the mac icons are a LOT alike XD well thats cool... i feel sorry for anyone who bought a mac RIGHT before they announced leopard lol... considdering it costs $300 to buy seperately lol

  • It only costs 130$

  • well i looked when it first came out and it was $300

  • No, I'm pretty sure it's been $130 since it came out. Watch the keynote.

  • yeah i was (geek alert) 19th on line and it was still $130, so yeah kinda wrong

  • how inch do they have

  • y is this so much more expensive than the macbook? i don't understand...

  • better graphics...usually faster..biigger displays. Macs are so awesome..

  • Im despretly deciding between this, and a regular macbook.... hmmm.

  • depends what you are doing with it...IF you are graphic design, or editing, go with the macbook pro...anything else, macbook

  • Well Im a student, wanting a macbook for youtube/homevideo editing, and a lot of music recording... Also, this will now be my main computer for school projects (essays etc)

Still the pro? Or the macbook regular.

  • then you will probably be better suited with the black macbook using garageband..I am a musician and I use garageband for my cd's. Macbook Pros are usually used for very advanced graphic design and such..Good luck!

  • ROCKS!! CLASSY~

  • if I install window vista on macbook, can I use two fingers and touch the trackpad?

    Thanks!

  • I don't know about windows vista, but the multitouch gestures do not work with windows xp professional.

    kp

  • great video I like that..! but could you tell macbook has right mouse button or not? cuz i just saw one button with touch pad.

  • the MacBook pro has one single button under the trackpad, although you can use two fingers and touch the trackpad at the same time, and that would act as you right click function.

    kp

  • welll the thing is i live in england so its going to be qite hard for me to do that. would i be able to have you shipping details?

  • hello, i thought your review was excelent if you dont mind could you please tell me how do you right click on a mac because i am planning on gettin the macbook pro but im confused on how to right click? please pm me if you have the time

  • I'm glad you liked my video. In order to right click with the MacBook Pro, you need to go to system preferences, and click on mouse/keyboard, then click the trackpad button ok the bar, and enable two finger tapping and enable right click. You should be able to do it, and on the new macbook pros's they show instructional videos on how to do the finger movements.

    kp

  • y do u not pronounce ur 'r'

  • My accent.

    kp

  • @ TheMightyM94

Y DU U TYP LIKE DIS?

    :D

  • 2 USB Ports on this computor. Lmao. Your accent.

  • clean your desk you have an cable salad

  • I loved your review.And I would to see a review about iLife'08.

  • Thanks, I did not plan on doing an ilife 08 review, but I can send you my written review if you like.

If there is a lot of demand for it, then I'll do a video review.

    kp

  • i want an ilife 08 review...Please do it!

  • I have the matte version there so much better hence when using the screen in direct sunlight you don't get that horrible reflection with laptops with a glossy screen. Soz about the comment on glossy screen I actually mean the matte display.

    Peace

  • I personally think that the 15.4 inch macbook pro is the best because the battery life very long and it's really light. Plus good choice on picking the glossy screen. (have the 2.4Ghz, 15.4" and Glossy)

    Peace

  • Actually, I got the matte screen because the glossy screen was to reflective and distracting for my video editing work.

    kp

  • How durable is the MacBook Pro? My iPhone back scratches so eaisly. Also i need advice, I'm going to High School and getting into video and photo editing and game designing. I'm either getting the Dell XPS M1730 or the Macbook Pro. My price limit is $2500.

    Thanks. :)

  • Well, you need to make a choice, between what software you want to stick with. If you are into video and photo editing I suggest to get a Mac. It depends on your software needs.

These laptops are almost the same cost/money ratio, although the Dell has slightly cheaper RAM. I suggest to get the 2499 spec MBP.

    Get Applecare also.

    kp

  • get macbook pro you will love it

  • Hey dude i wanted to get a macbook but i don't know wat to get or either a macbook pro 17" or a 15" you know for like a normal guy who like video games space, watch videos and stuff like that and also im like new to this thing.

  • If your main priority is games, then get a Vista gaming laptop.

If you want to stick with Mac, then you could get Windows XP and install it via Bootcamp. BTW, you can't game with any emulation programe like VMware or Parallels. If this will be your main computer, then I suggest a 17 inch HI DEF. If you value portability, then get a 15 inch.

    Keep the questions coming!

    kp

  • dude not to be a hatter but man u need help with speech you are not 100% on your speech man im not trying to come off like a hater but man realy take some speech class sory if this sounds like im hatting im not. im trying to help

  • I know my speech skills suck, and I know what your saying. I'm trying to improve but my accent is very strong.

    Thanks for the advice.

    kp

  • do u have bootcamp???

  • Yes, on my MBP and MP and MBA.

    kp

  • macbook pwo

  • its hard to hear with music, 2*

  • do all the 15 inch come with LED

and 17 inch you need to upgrade for $100 yes?

  • dells suck

  • i like this a whole lot better than the other macbooks...

  • the little white one has its charm too, but this is the sexy macbook

  • yea but i need iphoto and imovie.i need a lot of storage space to go with it...

  • yeah, then the pro is of course best

  • so true..

  • i'm sorry but i just have to say it...

    cicim101: you must be retarded

why would apple make a computer that didn't go on the internet?!?!

also why on earth would a MBP be cheaper then an air?? the airs suck!!! they have like half the ram and hardrive!??!?!

  • The MBP would be 'cheaper' because you get a lot of features: graphics card, illuminated aluminum keyboard, big hard drive, optical drive, bluetooth, up to 4GB of RAM... for only a couple hundred dollars more than the MBA.

When cicim said cheap, he meant it comparatively.

    kp

  • oh yeah, plus i wanted to know if you can go on the internet with the macbook pro. I know i probably sound stupid but i am not really big on this kinda stuff.

  • All of Apple's computers can go on the internet.

    kp

  • I really need your help, which do you prefer mackbook air or mackbook pro. I am probably going to get the mackbook pro because i think it is cheaper.

  • It depends on what you would use it for.

As a main computer, or for school/home, you should get the MBP.

    kp

  • ahaha i love seeing all the fights arising in the comments. i must say, the video is quite bias but it gets the point across. i'm defintiely going to get one of these

  • in your opinion, which do you think is better the macbook (white/black) or the macbook pro? because i really want one but not sure which one to get

  • If its going to be your main computer and if you like games/video rendering a lot, get the MBP. If its for school, or other things as such, get the MacBook.

    kp

  • Good review mate, But please pronounce it OS Ten, Not OS Ex Ten :D

    Thanks Mate,

    Sam

  • Good point.

    Sorry for the mis-pronouncement.

    kp

  • I have a Dell with vista, my goodness it's slow. The screen looks great and everything, but you can never compare it to a Mac. I learned a valuable lesson and I'm getting a Macbook Pro. Now I got a trojan virus and I just want to get rid of this thing, lol. Don't even want to fix it. Anyone who wants a great laptop or desktop, go for the Mac, especially if you have an iPod and iPhone.

  • Well if you get shitty Dells you can expect them to die. Not saying Dells are better because Macs totally have them beat but you got crappy Dells so you cant say there all crap. Latitude and Optiplex computers are for BUSINESSES not for the retail market. I'm sure if you had gotten an Inspiron or Dimension they would still be working because they are designed to be used in a home environment unlike the Optiplex and Latitude.

But none of that really matters because Macs are better anyways. =]

  • Nice Choice Mac Is Way Better Than Windows

  • Do you mean Leopard is better than Windows?

You can't compare a computer to an OS.

    kp

  • Do you work for apple, and is this some kind of secret video to do some dirt slinging against dell?

  • Great Review Man :D

I'm hoping to get one soon ;P

  • Thanks!

    kp

  • do u use internet security on ur mac

  • security from what? Mac don't get viruses

  • security from what? Mac don't get viruses

  • dude.....you need to make this more professional....stop stuttering....and shaking the camera...its getting on my nerves....

  • Sorry. I am getting much better, check out my Mac Pro Explore vid.

    kp

  • quote "here you have a nice MacBook Pro label, which is fun to look at if you're bored"

    lol that made me laugh.

I'm getting a macbook pro in July-September and I'll have stacks of videos on it so please check out my channel. Great review kp

  • Thanks!

    kp

  • How do you feel about the keyboard? I prefer the new style with the spaced out keys, like the Air's Keyboard (black keys on a silver computer)

  • I think the keyboard is great. The keyboard has nice response and depression, and I like the feel of metal keys better when typing, as opposed to plastic.

    kp

  • I have a macbook pro and it does not have metal keys!

  • macbook pwo.

where the fuck are you from.

  • India, Africa, England, and America.

    Tone down the cursing.

    kp

  • For fucks sake, the music in the background pisses me off, why the fuck do people put music when doing a fucking review, we are trying to listen to the review not the song.

    Other than that, thanks.

  • Try to keep the cursing down.

    Thanks!

    kp

  • lol sorry, I just want a macbook NOW! - And I was watching a few other reviews, everyone puts the music too loud, it should just be really faint in the background.. Oh well, thanks and sorry.

  • Its all good.

I hope you get a macbook.

    kp

  • its the keep the review from getting boring

  • Macbook reviews are never boring :P - Music is fine, but he just put it a bit too loud. It's much better when its just faint in the background.

  • Totally agree. I made a huge mistake in my part.

    kp

  • macbook po he says that lol

  • Hello K.P. Great vids, keep it up. Quick question, matte or glossy display? I am about to get one.

  • glossy: clearer but reflects like shit if you are somewhere outside

matte: it doesnt relflect that much but at the same time it isnt as nice & clear

so it really depends on where you are planning to use your mbp

-> I just ordered one and chose glossy

  • My personal preference is matte, because its great in many lighting conditions, and if I need to see something clearer or on high resolution, I just use my monitor at home. I don't find using matte a problem at all.

    kp

  • you can get the western digital mybook 500 gb pro edition it has firewire 400 and 800 if you want more indo pm me

    thanks,Manny

  • We don't, we just appreciate technology more than other people. We are part of the tech. geek community (at least, some of us are).

    kp

  • :p agreed

  • you are right mac ruleZZZZZ!!! and you know what dell is a bitch I have the dimmension e510 I hate it I am waiting for apple to make a laptop with nividia ge force 8800 gt instead of 8600 gt

  • The MacBook Pro might have those specs in the 2008 model.

    kp

  • thanks for the review!

  • Your welcome!

    kp

  • kool review, mine is still running almost had it for two years now, got it when it first came out

  • Nice. Applecare is an essential.

    kp

  • gosh.. i love this com.. im gettin one soon, nice review

  • Thanks! The MBP is a nice comp, even though it gets warm/hot when its used.

    kp

  • great video thanks

  • Your welcome!

    kp

  • cool vdo, i use the 2.4GHz 15" MBP! same as yours? it's ace!!!!!!!

  • wo_0t

    kp

  • dont really need a 2.6GHz,

  • Lol "here's your macbook pro logo... have something to look at when you're bored..."

By the way, do you think 2.4GHz is enough? What do you use your comptuer for? Any photo/video editing? I'm planning to get the 2.6 model because I edit a lot. Is it worth the few hundred US?

  • 2.4 GHz is enough to get by. I do a lot of video editing with Final Cut. If you have enough money, make sure you get the 2.6. Its not a disaster if you can't get the 2.6 GHz.

    Get it if you can.

    Thanks for supporting my vid!

    kp

  • my advise, just never get a dell

  • Yeah, dells just suck.

    Macs just work.

    kp

    ;)

  • thank you ok last question: lets say i buy a mbp with 2gb sdd and 160gb of hard drive space will i be able to upgrade to lets say 4gb sddram and 200 gb i noe if u shop online u can but what do i do? do i go to an apple store and ask a guy to help me upgrade? thank you so much!

  • I will message you.

The youtube site thinks that my posted links are spam

  • k thank you...o yea also on the once i select the mbp there is a display section which i can choose a 15 inch glossy display and a widescreen display what ths difference?

    thnx again

  • Both displays are widescreen. The options for the displays are matte and glossy. I prefer matte. But if you prefer the MacBook display's then get glossy.

    Thanks for supporting my vids!

    kp

  • hey on the apple webpage its says the macbook pro can do a 2.2,2.4 and 2.6 ghz speed processor thingy but if you take a look at the online store none of the macbooks say it has a 2.6 ghz only 2.2 and 2.4 how do you get a 2.6 ghz mbp?

    thnx

  • You go to 'Buy Now' on the MBP homepage, then select the 15 inch or 17 inch module, and you should be able to customize the MBP with a 2.6 GHz processor.

    kp

  • i wanted to know if the battery lasts very long because i was thinking about getting it.

  • You can look on the Apple website for that info. But I get 2.5 and if I am lucky, 3 hours with wireless. I don't know the battery life without wireless turned on.

    kp

  • does mbp have a built in optical drive where u can put cds, dvds etc. in and where is it? thank u

  • Yeah of course the MBP has an optical drive, the optical drive is next to the latch on the front side of the notebook. If you want a more detailed view, visit the Apple website.

    kp

  • thats one of the reasons why the MBA sucks!

  • Good point. The lack of I/O on the MBA greatly disappoints me.

    kp

  • i'm thinking about buying a mac book pro with the 2.4 card and a 250 gb harddrive for video editing. is this the right computer for me?

  • Microsoft should appreciate the irony. In testing by Cnet and APC Mag, the Macbook Pro ran Windows Vista faster than any PC based laptop.

  • Yeah, but unfortunately it was the fastest until, 10/25/2007. I was very surprised that Apple beat Alienware. Then again, Apple is the only hardware company that makes its own software.

    kp

  • does the macbook pro get hot fast or does it stay cool?

  • If you do video processing or CPU intensive stuff on the MBP, it gets VERY hot, but if you just surf the internet and/or use word-processing programs, then it stays warm. People get use to the heat though, and I did too.

    kp

  • I hate dells and Windows :D

I was wondering how you can set your computer to when you turn it on it comes up a password first before you can get in.. I might message you again just in case

  • 1. Go to System Preferences.

    2. Click on the Accounts icon.

    3. On the left hand side, you will see your (and other people's) account(s), click on the 'Login Options' button at the bottom of the column.

    4. Click on the pop up menu next to 'Automatic Login', and select disabled.

This should work, if not, message me.

    kp

  • I completely agree, had to send A Dell laptop back myself and throw out two Dell desktops. All broke down within 18 months of purchase. In fact the laptop broke down within 18 minutes. I've moved to Apple. Vista was the last straw.

  • What's a santa rosa?

  • Santa Rosa is an Intel chip set used in the MBP's as well as the Macbooks.

  • what's so special about it?

  • Its the fastest laptop chip set made by Intel. And also it boosts the power of the MBP by a lot, and enables pairs (of the same amount) of RAM to work seamlessly with the dual cores.

The result is speed and performance unheard of in an Intel based notebook and an Apple notebook.

  • i love looking at wood

  • Errrr...ok.

Thanks for watching my video! Subscribe if you want!

    kp

  • Dear KP,

Hello! Good review!!!I am thinking of getting a Macbook pro ,but should I wait until mid Jan 2008??Do you think Apple will upgrade??

Anyway , did you find it hard to switch from PC TO mAC??.I currently have a sony vaio and looking for a better change/upgrade!!!

I appreciate your views or anyone elses

    Thanks

  • I will message you with my response.

    kp

  • definitely wait. there will almost definitely be upgrades for a lot of the products, and if not it is only one more week. it pleases me to know that u at least do ur research and dont just go out and drop 3000 bucks on a new comp when a new one is coming out in a week! lol

  • how do you put a video on youtube from your macs photo booth?

  • You can't. You can use iMovie 06/08 if you want to make a video with the iSight camera. If you want to show a slide show of pictures you can insert the pictures in iMovie 08/06 and add music/effects that way.

    kp

  • Regarding the expresscard it's a standard pcmcia technology, it's 34 on the MBP, and you can insert dozens of stuff, like USB 2.0 or firewire (even serial port) adapters, media card readers, soundcards and so on...you can find them on the expresscard official website. Nice vid, take care.

  • Thanks for the advice! I will probably purchase an Express 34 media card reader. SD Flash cards, and Pro Duo's are much more convenient than the traditional USB memory stick for my use.

    kp

  • good review and nice mac

  • Thanks!

    kp

  • hey... do you know anything to prevent it from sleeping when you close the lid??? is that in system preferences, coz i cant find it...?? im having the same laptop as yours. Tnks

  • You can download Insomnia X to prevent it sleeping. But if you want to attach an external monitor with keyboard and mouse, you shut the lid of the laptop, wait for sleep mode of activate, then plug in your mouse and keyboard, (make sure you connect the power plug in), and the laptop should be in clamshell mode. I did this all in leopard. If you have a wireless mouse, do the same thing but make sure you have bluetooth enabled on you MBP and turn the mouse on (click it a few times).

  • no offence, but that video is really bad

i never say bad things about videos but this is an exception...

  • This was my first video, so don't be harsh!

  • kp, you are the calmest youtube commenter I have ever seen. Awesome job.
