  • i really want to be in labor delivery too.. or with newborn ans mother. its like my dream :) !

  • hello, I enjoyed watching your video. Well to start off I just graduated high school last month. I need advices from people and I believe you can be one of them. I am interested in becoming a rn labor and delivery nurse. Would that be under OB? I am confused and I am new to this. I am going to a community college first because they have a nursing program there. What would you suggest I should do?

  • I would just like to thank you for the videos, im in the process of watching them right now, and i must say its really great to see someone talk about their experiences through out nursing school, and especially L&D because thats what i want to do, and im just getting an idea of what to expect before i go to school (im only a highscool Jr.)

my confession is that i am a little worried about going into L&D because i am a guy. =/

I aspire to work in labor and delivery as well. if you graduated you need to post a new video about your pinning ceremony and your new job :) good luck to you

  • hey, thanks for posting. Im a male nursing student, and u r right, we guys dont get to see vaginal births due to cultural reasons, but i got to see a few C-secs. Thanks for posting.

I am an ER nurse tech now transferring back to L & D after working in numerous dept of the hospital I heart OB!! I just wanted to let you know i share your passion for Labor & Delivery - may God continue to bless you in your education & career -mslynn

  • This is the first video of yours that I have watched and I really just wanted to say thank you so much for uploading this! I also want to be a Labor & Delivery nurse, and I plan on starting school hopefully this winter, and I really love your honesty and the descriptions of your surroundings, etc. I am definitley subscribing.. By the way, I often times get a little sick to my stomach when I see gross things, did you experience that as well during any of the things you have witnessed?

  • that was a great introduction! looks like a real program from tv, the series of nurse confession :) .

So what you are saying is not matter how pretty the lady who's delivering is, the childbirth could still stink, AND they could cut her vagina ? what is a blablah section? a cut for the delivery aaaaahhhhh!!!! well. you are pretty, too. was the woman delivering the baby, prettier than you?

  • If there's postpartum hemorrhaging first you check the fundus height and location. If its boggy and not centered you would empty the bladder and massage the fundus. Then call the doctor.

  • Thank you so much for doing these videos, they are very helpful.

  • that is what i am most scared of is the passing out part.... but i really love watching your videos....very helpful!!!

  • heyy :-)

how long have u been in school ?

  • YAY!! : )

  • Hi Hannnah, If you don't mind asking are you RN OR LVN?

  • RN... : )

  • Great blog. I'm in nursing school now doing OB 2 days a week and med surg 1 day a week.

I absolutely love OB. My 2 favorites are newborn nursery and mother-baby post partum. In L & D I've seen vaginal & a few sections. There's not always a lot of blood w/c-sections. Sounds like they hit the uterine artery.

I saw gastric bypasses & wound care last qtr so OB is less overwhelming if other things like that are experienced first.

I loved OR but OB is where my heart is so far.

  • : ) I loved OB too...awesome stuff, huh??!

  • Hey there! I love all your videos so much! Their so entertaining and I know exactly what your going though. I'm in Nursing School in Orlando. I loved Postpartum. It's been my favorite and I think thats what I want to do. When do you finish school. I wish you the best of luck and keep the videos coming!

  • I'm so glad! Thank YOU! I finish in a year...its a 5 semester program!

  • i'm so glad that your posting stuff about what its not only like but the smells, and the feelings of being in a delivery room and what not. its making me a lot less nervous about starting the program. thanks!

  • : ) Yeah....you'll get through anything when it happens...you have to... and when you do, it feels great...: ) sooo glad I can help.

  • are you in medsurg too? Im so nervous about doing care plans!

  • Yeah...I did "adult health 1" or medsurg 1 last semester and I just started medsurg 2 or "adult health 2" this semester. Care plans can be a little intimidating but if you have a good Nursing Diagnosis handbook then you'll be fine! I use the "Nursing Diagnosis Handbook" the 8th edition by Ackley and Ladwig...its a mosby book.

  • ahhh! they wont allow us to use "care plan books"! of course we use NANDA approved nursing Dx, but we have to cite page numbers from our Elsevier/Mosby books for things such as AEB and blah blah blah! My clinial instructor said our care plans should take us about 40hrs to do!! Oh btw, I love your vlogs, I subscribe...Im in second semester and have already drawn blood, did IV push, and I got to hang blood last week!! Sooo much sooooooo fast!!!

  • I start Nursing School next semester :) I can't wait! I think I might start a vlog too...

  • YAY! Yeah...def! Do it!
