Modra is in rare company. It is amazing to think that he did not even make his AFL debut until he was 22 or 23.

Unless he had the people to keep him on track (i.e Neil Kerley), he may never even played AFL.

Wasted by Cornes this guy was such a gifted athlete if he played on the ball when the crows were getting hammered and nothing was coming his way he could have been the greatest ruck rover in the history of the game. The amount of times during bad games that he went up the wing and beat 3 guys to get the ball was amazing...

I still remember 93 when Modra was seriously, massively popular. Not bad given he made his AFL debut at 22 or 23 I think it was.

He was a star, I hate south Australia in general but he was AWESOME! Imagine if he had have played for Red Cliffs in the SFL about 1994 then he could have been drafted by a Victorian Club, the cows would not let him do that, then years later their recruiting manager james fantasia had the nerve to claim on Melbourne radio that the cows were given "NO CONCESSIONS" I would have though Tony Modra was a pretty handy concession. I was a student in Adelaide in the mid-to-late 90's. I am now back in Thailand but I began watching AFL because of Anthony Modra. I was so lucky enough to be in Adelaide when they did the double in 97-98. But no one has made AFL more exciting than Modra... onya mate!!!
