  • When the pilot started crying after the plane safely landed, I just wanted to walk into the You Tube video and give him a big hug.

  • I had chills when the pilot cried

  • Less than 6 months after this incident, Captain Tim Lancaster (who had been hanging out the window) was flying again. Last I heard (2005) he had left British Airways but was still a pilot with easyJet.

  • shortest landing in history

  • @PanekPL i know right?

  • 7:40

There is one twist to his story...

    He's the goddam batman

  • LAMPIDODO u do realize tim lancaster was the captain and not the co-pilot

  • i feel sorry for him for when he started crying he needed some relaxation and a soda

  • never forget to wear your seat belt...

  • only 3 stupid and unhuman bastards could put dislake to this video

  • 5:53 they remove the BODY of the captain... hes dead

  • @tankedassasin dude the cap is alive

  • @karaniskool40 the next vid he said it was a miracle he survived

  • @karaniskool40 at 5:21 y is the guy crying?

  • @tankedassasin dude the guys crying cause he saves the day that event scared the shit out of him

  • Comment removed

  • @karaniskool40 also it was too much pressure and stress on him thats why he was shaking basically it was a shock

  • @tankedassasin You didn't watch up to 8:10 then I suppose.

  • @hildegain i did. before i finished watching i posted that comment

  • @tankedassasin That's why I normally start typing out comments and wait til the video is finished to post :)

  • @tankedassasin what a baby

  • @karaniskool40 yes he is to this day

  • @tankedassasin 7:44 He's Alive.

  • The moral of the story is: Always wear your seat belt!

  • @LeBartman your so right

  • @LeBartman no, pilots should be aloud to not have them on. imagine wearing a seatbelt for hours on end. the real moral is if your going to install a new windsheild to an airliner do it right.

  • Wtf

  • Hope he was knighted by the queen. great job crew

  • What he survived???!!!! UNBELIEVABLE!??!!!???!!!

  • Alistaire Atchison, Badass

  • the moment that the co pilot is crying is sooo nice to see! 5:21 trough 5:41 i could comfort him :'(

  • You can see the blood on the window man lucky people but poor caprine

  • Notice, his manners. "Thank you very much" while he's trying to land a plane with the Captain hanging out the window! I love it!

  • aloha 243 did have a flight attendent fly out of the cargo hold!!

  • I hope Atchinson got some kind of major award. He had all those lives depending on him and he did a fantastic job.

  • I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky XD

  • good flying mate

  • felling bad for captain :/

  • the co-pilot and stewards are the HEROS!!! The pilot is one hell of a lucky fellow....what if they had made the decision to let him go thinking that he was definately dead....God bless them! Not only did they save their captain, the co-pilot landed the plane safely for all involved!

  • Sir you deserve a medal oustanding courage

  • brilliant flying and landing in a sittuation like that for a co-pilot.

  • The entire crew had Balls of Steel.

  • I think the co pilot should get a promotion to Captain/main pilot.

Thank you co pilot Tim Lancaster

  • @LAMIPODO LOL Tim Lancaster is the Captain!!!

  • @tekken6ironman oh............. ok thanks

  • @LAMIPODO No Problem :D

  • @tekken6ironman do you know his name?

  • @LAMIPODO alastair atchison

  • @FPVlogS Thanks =)

  • @LAMIPODO I felt exactly the same!

  • @LAMIPODO Tim was the captain....

  • @LAMIPODO actually Tim Lancasters captain

  • That first officer did an amazing job just phenomenal

  • Just think about that. An inexperienced pilot flying a plane with no one to give him instructions, and the pilot survived. That co-pilot is a hero.

  • Comment removed

  • Why would you take your headset off?

  • @saratogaken

Who gives a crap. They called it a co-pilot in the show.

  • some thing is wrong with youll people who makes plane and plane parts do something too stop plane crashes stop from letting people come on youll planes youll just putting people lifes at risk

  • God I love the Brits. The ATC soooooo calm. Co-pilot "I think the captain is dead"etc. ATC,,,I say did you see the football game between Manchester and Hampton? Oh by the by just popping out for a spot of tea and a fag right?

  • Awesome First Officer

  • how do you stay that calm???

  • how do you stay that calm???

  • FYI...The proper name for "Co-Pilot" is First Officer

  • On 5:21, i was srry tat da co-pilot was cryin

  • if all the pilots are that of co pilot i dont think that air crash will take place in the future

  • wow!!! three cheers for the co-pilot! takes a lot to be that brave

  • his laugh is epic

  • That copilot and everyone who were involvedin this tragic experience are heroes. Unbelievable the Pilot survived.. Miracles really exist!

  • 4:10 what is that ?!

  • A co-pilot with big balls!! Respect!

  • o_O

The captain lived? Through all that?

    Wow.

  • how the hell did he survive?.......wouldnt he freeze to death.....that must be like -60 degrees fahrenheit

  • Co-pilot is a real hero, whether he thinks it or not.

  • Get outta here!!! He survived!!! That was divine intervention

  • great copilot

  • These were the days, no congestion at the airports, no flood of scruffs into the country, no gov screwing us up. I remember flying on a 1/11. England was a nice place then.

  • @Truimphful tit

  • @Truimphful I remember it VERY differently to you : )

  • @Truimphful Fuckin' hell what's your problem? No wonder folk wanna stab you. Tit.

  • @bluenail90 My prob is you sending messages calling me a tit. so you got an answer?

  • @Truimphful tit

  • @bluenail90 To suck on , hmmmmmmm

  • Hats off to the controllers and emergency crews as well, in aviation every thing is a team-effort.

  • " I felt he was in a fair bit of pressure"..0:00- 0:03

Nice choice of words there dude

  • BEST LANDING EVAR !!!

  • best to take a train >.<

  • @ruhescape Well not really. It's about 10 people killed every year on the raidroads in Britain (although most aren't passengers,) but the average killed in commercial aviation accidents is 0.

  • Top job co-Pilot, top job.

  • HE FUCKING LIVED?

  • That's the best piloting I've ever seen.

  • poor captain... :(

  • @CelineloveJordy what is poor in it

    it was pressure of wind

    you fool

    he was brave

  • Ahmmm, roger that?! Poor man in the tower...

  • I always wear seatbelt from start to finish...better be safe

  • i guess my mom was right you should always wear your seatbelt

  • 6:24

  • 2:16

  • Is that a MD-8X? Thumbs up fpr that first officer!! It was very very great! Landing such a damaged plane is very well!

  • Is that a MD-8X?

  • wow. I was like at the beggining "the captians gonna live" then, oh too bad, he died.", then at the end "OMG!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • Comment removed

  • OMG well done alliceter he is a hero

  • that pilot must be the only person in the world that can say ive sat on the front of a jet airliner while in full flight!

  • Wtf! How did the pilot survive?!?!

  • amazing episode..........great work by co-pilot.

  • it must suck to be pinned on metal with like 500 Mph of air going in your nose and your skin and nummm =[

  • wtf the air traffic controller ask too many questions why don't he shut the fuck up and give him the instructions to land

  • Ah. How happy would it be to have a safe-landing after all terrible shit that happened through the flight, and also- saving lives! Thank you to this Co-Pilot!

  • so the captain died?

  • Typical British composure. That's why they're so awesome.

  • Hats off to the crew.

  • nice story but wtf with the part he start crying ?

  • @jamesxoxbond Man, after doing all that, I would have been bawling, It's like you just cheated the Devil in a card game.

  • @Izakk96 totaly agree , but i was talking about the actor's acting ...he kinda over cried tho

  • @jamesxoxbond As someone who's experienced hysterics before, I can tell you it's actually a surprisingly accurate portrayal.

  • @jamesxoxbond

    Do you need to ask?

  • They should play these episodes in flights to calm passengers down.

  • @CBH621 Or cause them to run screaming off the plane, LOL!

  • @CBH621 LOL

  • wenn das war ist dann ist das eine gute landung si eso es verdad sera un buen trabajo

    exelant pilots

  • That was such an anti-climatic landing...

  • God, what an amazing pilot! this is probably the best episode! :)

  • That co-pilot is THE real life hero.It was so emotional and I cried a bit when he burst into tears while taking off his headset after the safe landing. He's saved everyone incl the captain out of the window. Not to forget, the other three guys did the great job too for not letting the captain go.He was alive after all.I hope that co-pilot was promoted later on etc and now a captain. He definitely deserves to be one.

  • Everyone who gives pilots crap should be ashamed after seeing this. Ive flown twice and i make sure to thank the Pilots after we land because they do a tough job

  • the controller sounds so calm lol

  • The people who repaired the aircraft has a lot of explaining to do to the police, airline, and many other people.

  • Captains dead!!!!!!

  • @antell72

He isn't dead, he's still alive.

  • @antell72 no he just got frozen but recovered

  • I hope BA promoted him to captain status if he returned to flying

  • that is one brave and kickass co-pilot he stayed calm while the captain was out the plane either he is good at being calm or he just hates the captain :P

  • @shocktrooperX

I don't think he had -time- to break down. once the plane was down and stopped, he broke down.

  • @shocktrooperX This is a reconstruction in the actual thing he might have been shitting/ screamming his pants.

  • The fuck? At 6:28 you can see the captain on the outside of the aircraft with his lower legs inside the front windscreen. In the reconstruction in the cockpit, it is clear that his legs are out of the aircraft.

  • Dang..... this is heart wrenching!

  • Alistair saved some ass! jk

    BUT HE IS AWESOME HERO

  • i didn't think British men could cry.....

  • The FO did one hell of a job, and I'm glad the captain survived. If that incident happened at a much higher altitude, the whole roof of the flight deck could have been ripped of.

  • Alister's a hero! How terrifying OMG this video was nerve wrecking :)

  • There's one profession where you hope you'll never have to be a hero.

  • SpeedBird 5390 accicdent is worse than SpeedBird 9

  • Courage is doing something even though your shit scared.

  • @o0portal0o exactly.... Courage is NOT fearlessness but proper behavior in the face of that fear. Fearlessness when there is real danger is not courage but psychopathy.

  • the co pilot won an MBE for what he did that day

  • that first officer is a hero! <3

  • I hope that CO Pilot got a medal for that he certainly deserves it

  • Seeing the co-pilot and the flight attendants, I really really want to give him applause and hug them. Especially when the hero (co-pilot) started crying. <3

  • I don't get it they said no fatalities, did the guy somehow survive being shot out of the plane then being turned into a popsicle?

  • @SodomGomorrahWaDC indeed he did survive

  • @12reece123 yeah I rewatched it 4 times then I was like, holy shit that guy's lucky...

  • @SodomGomorrahWaDC he sure is .

  • I hope that pilot and crew got a medal for what he did, he is truely amazing

  • I'm not a fan of this airplane: 1.) Not enough oxygen for everyone, 2.) It can't dump fuel, 3.) The Co-pilot (while heroic and experienced) didn't have proper maps and other info regarding this airplane, and 3.) This plane received "maintenance" during the last 24 hours?! Who installed THAT windshield?!

  • Every single one of these people was a hero... the co pilot, the controller, those air crew.... every last one of them. Just a purely heroic effort.

And that co pilot especially should be goddamn knighted.

  • props go to the air traffic controller for being so calm and conversable. I think that helped the co-pilot alot!!!

  • can u tell me what the co-pilot was doing when they landed?

  • @Joshie7797 renting a nearby washroom rest of his year!!!!!

  • sobbing his heart out.... like any of us would...

The pressures on that young man must have been incredible.

The lives of 84 passengers + aircrew, the safety of people below him all riding on his shoulders.

Utter panic behind him. Utter panic inside of him.

What man would not have sobbed after that????

  • OMG poor pilot :( oh nooooo

  • thats just unbelievable landing with 1 pilot its never easy and the confidence the co-pilot showed under pressure is just fantastic

  • Hats off to the co-pilot!!

  • now that is aviation at its best, i take my hat of to the co-pliot i cant belive that remarakble

  • respect to the copilot he saved many lifes

  • @sumantirukovela OH YEAH? How about the flight attendants ?

  • and to think footballers earn 100 grand a week makes me quite sick.

    What a man

  • Co-Pilot is a such a GREAT man.

    Respect!

  • lol......lucky lucky bastard

  • so the captain survived??

  • quality british pioliting

this us the skill that kept the nazis out of britain

  • amen!

  • what an amazing job by the flight crew of that aircraft, with a hearly full tank of fuel and a pilot hanging out of the cockpit window, i cant believe how perfect of a landing that was.. very nice job by the flight crew of speedbird 5390

  • pussy

  • This was not a micracle. 1 person have died in this event.
