When I broke my electronic dictionary, I ended up buying kanji sono mama de but it was always a pain and embarrassing to bring out my fat DS (the big original one). Now I have an iphone I use apps like Kotoba, stickystudy for study. I recommend these. Also, search sakanahen, its free, its just a quiz app but drill it and you will learn 42 fish kanji easily ;D
Just a question, have you found any iphone apps that have any good recognition for writing kanji like kanji sonomama de?
dude why u spent money for that Ds game ?? type rom freak on google and download all ur nintendo DS roms !!! for free also theres many japanese NDS games for learning japanese like my japanese coach, Beautiful kanji / kana / hiragana
also if ur wondering how to play these games on ur DS and not just on your computer well just go order an R4DS card on any shop online it should cost around 3$-10$ depends on every site web and the free shipping takes like 1week to 6 weeks. This is a must if u dont want to spend 1000$ on hundred of NDS games
I'm into Japanese culture.but ever person that is into the Japanese culture seems kind of douchy,to me.just look at every person on youtube and tell me if I'm wrong.you know who they are.
Not all of them. Though I will admit...there are a lot of people like that, mostly wapanese and otaku in america. I don't consider myself a douche though because I can readily admit when I don't know a question someone asks me about the Japanese language.
@NesyDan Seriously? Wow. Not every Otaku/Japanophile plasters their mug on YouTube or acts like a douchebag. Some of us just quietly enjoy studying Japan and embracing what we can of the culture and art. The fact that you are using a bunch of people on YouTube to say we're all douchebags is really, really rude.
I'm not being silly but the free kotoba dictionary isn't very accurate. And I can't look up any idioms or grammar. My Japanese friend uses wisdom which is really good but is aimed at Japanese learning English. I'm wondering if there is an equivalent of this for English speakers learning Japanese. I need to be able to look up the grammar from my JLPT text books. Such as ともかく and きっかけに、etc. I also need to be able to look up idioms. Any ideas? HELP!!!
a note on the new DS LL... Had mine since Saturday, and it`s helped my Japanese studies alot... however that`s because of the kanji (kanken3) software I bought , and the DS as a machine in general.
The advantages of the big screen are negated by the loss in graphics quality, which are very obvious. Also, when writing kanji, you have to draw them extra big, which I`ve realised is somewhat unnatural.
