Start playing dota and you will learn what a human being can achieve in micro skills (or Starcraft or Warcarft, etc).

thats a fast run. i played the shit out of this game. ive seen the stairs close and everything but in the last few lvls like 13 14 15 and 16 he would have been mobbed by enemies. at 5 mins and 3 seconds u see his windows bar. he has about 5 programs running. almost surely cheats that allow his character to dupe instantly and empty out the levels of monsters. SPEED RUNS gotta be legit or they are just runs. Also the room with lazarus' staff always has enemies in it. ive never seen it empty EVER.

its cause the install file is about 1mb. everything is loaded from the cd. so the loading speed pretty much only depends on the speed of your cd rom drive. and that hasnt really improved since then. ^^ cds are just fucking slow.

This speedrun is legal. It was done by Maciej 'groobo' Maselewski on 21.04.07. You can check at SpeedDemosArchive; as you know, speedDemos crew are PRETTY strict about cheating .. so, although it seems pretty difficult to accept (it's for me as well), this is legal and real.

It's legal because it's something that the game itself "allows".

A true cheating would be *any* tool assisted help, a thing that was not done.

I know, it's not in the strict sence something "fair"; the last speedrun at SppedDemosArchive was fairly more "legal".

But I believe that I've stated the point.. still, it's a great run.. but yes, in strict terms it all seems this should be considered legal.

Perhaps the SpeedDemos of Diablo 2 would be more of your taste.

Yes, it's kinda strange the way the guys at SpeedDemoArchives separated "legal" from "fair".

At the MMORPG it would be said that it's *technically* legal to expliot a bug (the game is capable of it), but its not *moraly* legal within the server's local standard (as we all know, some free servers actually allows the use of all kind of stuff).

So, I believe that we are arguing more about these two kinds or "laws" (like the natural laws and the human laws).

this is a speedrun...go to speeddemoesarchive and you will find the same video. it doesn't matter if its a bunch of different files pieced together..still counts. obviously you will never find stairs like that in a normal gameplay, but the guy just kept reloading the level till he got it like that.
