I think your version is beautiful Neil - it's a folk song, which means that there are lots of different versions and it doesn't always need to be sung on a stage. My Auntie Mary used to sing this song at parties and her version was different too. (mainly because she was usually drunk!) The hairs were standing up on the back of my neck (with pleasure) when I listened to it.
Yes you are right the coorries are the masters but to be failr yours was wasnae bad at all. timing was good and the singing was musical. If you would only sing it up a key. Well done
