the fighting between china and vietnam is rather unfortunate, while it is true sidearm is clearly no match for heavy machinegun, but i don't consider the vietnamese "unarmed". it was a pointless battle, i think it was a mistake to unload troop onto the reef when there clearly isn't any support.

the south china sea was return to ROC when WWII ended, ROC still maintain the garrison on the largest island of the chain. vietnam wasn't a country then have no said and thats why we have this dispute..

@TheFlyrod23 that is inaccurate, china has half a dozen of nuclear submarine. 3 of which are confirmed to be equipped with nuclear weapons. while not as numerous as the other UNSC member, are able to provide continuous deployment, at anytime, there is at least one chinese boomer in the water... just enough to ensure there is deterrence.
