swiftRSwalrus' transcription is spot on - I've seen him do it live (elsewhere). It was a nice opener because he'd just been introduced as a skilled stage magician and expert psychologist and then he completely messes with your expectations.
I suspect that this is indeed humorous, but I can't understand what he is saying owing to the poor sound quality. If anyone could please decipher it, I would love to know what the joke is...

He says:
Ignoring the obvious cards like the queen of hearts or the ace of spades, If you could name the first playing card that comes to your mind.
The volunteer then say the three of hearts.
Richard then says: The three of hearts? Seriously? That's amazing. At which point he closing up the deck of hearts again
