  • I love this. I love the anounsements on the MBTA but i want to hear them on other subway systems. Do you hear an anounsement when a train is aproching and ariving?

  • lol i luv the underground it's so kool... and annoying at times, but it's good.... they really need to provide a service that lets you travel without going through the city.... if i wanna go from Leyton to Amersham for example, i gotta go through the central london, wud be nice if they had a kind of m25 type of service,

  • I miss london at all. I'ts such a amazing city, and here in Germany erverything is so boring. :) I love the underground there! you haven't got to wait, at all time one is coming. :) here i have to wait half an hour for a bus. stupid. :D

  • @Carolinee123100 i think its mad how the train doors stop inline with the big glass doors on the platform.

  • Love listening to real English.

  • why dont they open

  • @somerandomalex It's because the train is slightly longer than the station

  • If you think London Underground is slow you should go to Germany, because there are trains, which are much slower.

  • emma clarke?

  • nope. she does the victoria (although thts about to change), central and bakerloo lines. this is celia drummond on the northern line

  • looove it hahahaa!!!!

but try the Golders Green train :PPP

"The next station is Hampstead. Upon arrival the last set of doors will not open. Customers in the last carriage please move towards the front doors to leave the train. This train terminates at Edgware".

Agrrr.... I gotta make a video of it lmao :)

  • Oi! Do not be jealous of it:)

It is really nice isn't it. I love listening to it..

    Thanks for liking..

  • I MISS IT!

    sorry.

    Just had to say that.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Ha Ha , What a thing to say , , just goes to show the lack of investment on the underground how sad, or there too lazy to push a button that opens the dooos , who does that voice over

  • @ClareAer I believe the Northern line announcements are done by a v/o artist called Celia Drummond.

  • the next station is CAMDEN TOWN - High Barnet branch

upon arrival the last set of doors will not open

customers in the last carriage please move towards the front doors to leave the train

  • WHAT DOES THIS MEAN? i dont understand

  • Thanks for the comments:)

  • This is Northern line (not Picadilly line). Northern line is shown in black color on the map, whilie Picadilly line is shown as blue.

  • picadillyspurple, victoria is blue. oh its spelt 'colour' :)

  • can someone tell me what the voice says after "Upon arrival, the last set of doors will not open" ??????? "the last carriage, please move towards the front doors to leave the train"

  • Customers in the last carriage

  • well I think she says: ... please the customers in th last carriage...

  • Comment removed

  • Customers in the last carriage: please move towards the front doors to leave the train.

  • '...customers in...'

  • wow, they have platforms shorter than trains in london, i am impressed!

  • yes..but only in one station I suppose! I didn't understand how to open all doors except one.. on the train of my city (Milan, Italy) this is not possible!

  • it's because the camden town platform is too short to fit the whole train. if they would operate the last set of doors for you to get off the train, you'd be ending up in the tunnel.

  • İt's a good explanation..

  • I remember taking the tube, and the station announcements were in the wrong order.

  • miss it...

  • Did you have to move to the next carrige because the platforms are not long enough?

  • You are right about some platforms not being long enough but passengers would just have to use the 1 or 2 doors towards the front of that last carriage. They would not be able to move to the next carriage though because of safety reasons.

  • so what happens if you can't hear LOL

  • As you can see in the video, a digital sign. If you have ridden any train recently, all of them have a type of automated announcements, including the one we have here in Phoenix, AZ.

  • omg! thats soOOOOOOooOOOOOooo coooooooooool!

  • I almost felt like I was on the train, thanks for filming this.

  • Thanks for leaving this nice comment.: )

  • No worries, I don't go to London all that often and its nice to hear this again, I do the same thing in other areas :-)

  • yes..i miss london!...i love underground, its fast n easy

  • same mee

    GOD BLESS

  • @SwissChickn6 , london underground is fast? lol. just make me laugh. london underground is bloody slow.

  • @SwissChickn6 , ive never heard that london underground is fast. lol. london underground is bloody slow mate.

  • Ah, miss the tubes and the announcements. Try getting a shot of the 8 AM crowds on a Monday morning at Kings Cross on the Northern Line! I've never seen anything so chaotic and humorous at the same time! Mind The Gap!

    Houston

  • Bu ingilizce seviyenizi test etmenin kolay bi yolu.

"onu anlayincaya kadar iki yilim gecti"

  • I really love the announcements of the London Underground. Thanks für sharing ;)

I´ve never heard her voice on the Northern Line :S

  • Thanks for the comment. I keep forgetting where it was but I think the announcement is somewhere between Camden town and Tottheham Court Road.

  • I hate the in-car announcements. The ones they have on the Piccadilly, which are a recorded announcement played on the loudspeakers of the platform are much better.

  • I chose this announcement on purpose. Because I took me long time to understand: ) For me, the way she says the sentences like a poem. It seems to be rhymic to me I don't know other people's thoughts about it. I also did record it to use it when I teach English. For me it's a good choice of metarial for teaching..

    Thank you for your comment..

  • Yes thats true although I don't think you will come accross too many people who speak that clearly!

  • I don't get why people are saying 'why bother uploading etc etc', it's quite interesting, even for someone like me who regularly uses the underground, and anyway it's a great piece of history if in a few years time the announcements change etc etc :)

  • Hi there

Thank you for your comment. It is, indeed, interesting to me and to some people. Especially for the language learners.

  • Because as one of the people who commented said it is fascinating. And it is very useful for the people who has not been here and who wants to learn english. I hope you got my answer. If it is boring, you know people are free not to watch it.

  • What do you mean by that?

  • Fascinating.

  • That's why I upload it here to share with people.: )

    Thanks for the comment

  • Csa is a customer service assistant, which basically is an lu employee either standing around on the platforms, or standing by the gate's at street level.

  • I got you now. I thought you were writing about my video. I am not an English. That's why the word you used 'you' does not contain me: ) I haven't thought about it actually but this announcement is not being announced by CSA. This is only in the train. Others yes you can hear in both places. I mean in the platform and in the train.

    Regards

  • I know it isn't, what I was saying was that Lu has too many announcements on the platforms, particularly at rush hour.

  • I always think that there are far too many announcements on the network particularly at rush hour. You have the train talking and a csa. What's the point in both voices speaking at the same time, it's daft!

  • Could I ask what does CSA mean?
