I don't think so. I'm learning german and when I think back to the time I didn't speak german at all (or even after the first semester), I just cannot imagine being able to memorize so many lines as in the show or reading this commercial without understanding what he's saying. He may had read it off of a screen, but he speaks some german alright, or he wouldn't even be able to do that much.
