Great video. And the music and narration was excellent. Better than average for sure, with your modern videos with dispassionate voice and background electric guitar music. This is SO MUCH better than that.
i don't mind the voice and the pics are great but the music does not fit at all.although i would love to hear the music alone. i am a musician so i find the music worth hearing.
hey do any of you know where i can find good videos on ancient roman art? because i have a class prject i need to do on it. please and thank you. and this video was good trust me ive seen wayyy worst just change the music. :)
History is faulty here! The Latins were already there settled when the "Romans" arrived, most likeley from Athens (the failed athenian invasion of Sicily during the war with Sparta...or from Troy (as Roman history says). The Etruscans were from Anatolia. But to say they came from north of the Alps (Barbarians) is absurd!
you are correct. But were they already called the Latins? If I remember Livy correctly, Lavinium was the name of their territory, and their King Latinus. I have this idea that Aeneas called them Latins in honor of Latinus after his death?
You may be right. I believe the early "Romans" were Greeks from the failed Sicilian campaign during the war with Sparta, or Trojans (as they themselves believed) because they had to adapt to not only the Latin language, but the Sabine women to create a society. They were primarily soldiers from elsewhere.
I also must point out that Livy himself said he made little effort to demarcate fable from fact because of the difficulty of finding reliable sources of such ancient happenings. He also points out his own unwillingness to check disputes in his sources, even when the authoritative material is easily at his disposal.
And the story of the Sabine women is quite entertaining. Steal the women!

I kind of liked the retro 70's narration and back ground music. It remind me of some documentary I used to see as a kid back in the 70's.
